  • Assembly Leader Gives Raises to Top Aides

Stupid is, as stupid does. Does anyone really wonder why the Tea Party movement exists?

    Anyone, anyone?

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — State Assembly Speaker John Perez wasn't the only one who received a pay raise when he assumed the leadership post at the start of the month.

The Sacramento Bee reported Monday that the Los Angeles Democrat boosted pay for eight of his staff members on March 1, the day he was sworn in. The newspaper obtained the information under the state public records law.

Perez spokeswoman Shannon Murphy says the speaker's staff is taking on a "tremendous amount of additional new work" now that he is leader of the 80-member body.

Perez's salary grew from $95,291 to $109,584 when he assumed the speakership.

Murphy said Perez is cutting the Assembly's overall operating budget by 15 percent. The state Senate is continuing its salary freeze and monthly furlough day.

  • But Before I Go....

A chilling threat from Media Matters, a George Soros funded organization dedicated to destroying conservatives.

Media Matters has now made issued notice it intends to dig up dirt INDIVIDUALS who work at Fox News with damaging personal information it is gathering in opposition research.

Is this America? Will the FBI or anybody investigate the so-called investigators? Uh, no. That was a rhetorical question.

These scumbags are beyond contempt, and I know from personal experience.

Media Matters developing 'opposition research' on Fox, has list of 'every single person' at network

By Steven Nelson - The Daily Caller  5:45 PM 03/26/2011 (5:45 PM)

Politico published an eye-opening report on Saturday by Ben Smith about “Media Matter’s war against Fox.” Smith wrote that the organization continues to transform itself into an exclusively Fox News-battling group.

Media Matters founder David Brock told Politico that his organization’s activism has developed into a “strategy of containment.” This strategy includes extensive work to compile intelligence on the employees of the cable news channel.

“We made a list of every single person who works for Fox and tried to figure out who might be disgruntled and why, and we went out to try to meet them,” Media Matters executive vice president Ari Rabin-Havt told Politico. “Somebody in that organization is giving us primary source documents.”

Rabin-Havt also told Politico that Media Matters was compiling “opposition research” files on “mid- and senior-level execs and producers.”

“Criticizing Fox News has nothing to do with criticizing the press,” read a 2010 memo by Brock that was acquired by Politico. “Fox News is not a news organization. It is the de facto leader of the GOP, and it is long past time that it is treated as such by the media, elected officials and the public.”

Brock was formerly a conservative journalist. In 1993 he wrote an award-winning investigation for The American Spectator about Bill Clinton’s sex life as governor of Arkansas. In 2004 Brock founded Media Matters after expressing regret for his past as a conservative journalist

    Dear Pro-Troop Supporters

Every year Move America Forward puts on a single, huge fundraiser to send the troops the largest single shipment of care packages. This year we are going to try to beat our previous record, set in 2008 when we raised $1.3M on the night of the first inaugural Troopathon!

As the weather in Afghanistan and Iraq heats up, we have to step up our efforts to support our troops and supply them not only with goodies and treats but also our gratitude and support.

    New Troopathon Logo
    for 2011 Revealed!

This year’s theme is "Remember Their Sacrifice" to remind us that all of our troops: Marines, Navy, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserves, have given up and risked so much for our sake. All of our troops are putting their lives on the line for our freedom, so we owe them our total support!

In 2008 and 2009 our 8 Hour Troopathons were a huge success, but only because we had the support of the American people. We are going to need your support again this year more than ever before.

We have some exciting guests this year that we will be announcing soon.  So go mark your calendars RIGHT  NOW and mark TROOPATHON on your schedule for THURSDAY JUNE 23, 2011.

  • Is he running for President or Isn’t He?

John BoltonFormer United Nations Ambassador John Bolton was the keynote speaker at the California Republican Party convention in Sacramento this weekend and drew a huge crowd of enthusiasts.

Bolton met privately with myself and other representatives of Move America Forward, the largest pro-troop grassroots organization in the country to discuss international hotspots where our troops are in harms way.

Bolton will appear June 23rd on Troopathon 2011, a live broadcast on the Internet, to help raise money for care packages to our military men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as contributions to Fisher House, which aids family members helping soldiers recover from life threatening injuries.

During our discussion, I asked Bolton if the rumors about a presidential bid are accurate. Ambassador Bolton replied “I am thinking about it.” Bolton says that there doesn’t seem to be one conservative out there to whom support has rallied, so he is keeping his eye on the field.

  • Hell Freezes Over

Last year, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., didn’t hide his disdain for the tea party movement. He said it lacked coherence and would soon “die out.” But Graham’s singing a different tune this year, Politico reports.

senator, graham, tea, party, shiftHe’s trying to work with two founders of the Senate’s tea party caucus, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Mike Lee of Utah, to reform Social Security. And he recently spoke out against the new healthcare law in tandem with noted tea partyer Nikki Haley, governor of South Carolina.

“My opinion of the tea party has been ... if the tea party can help deliver Social Security reform, they deserve praise. If they can help us reduce spending, they deserve praise,” Graham told Politico. He’s part of a broader movement by establishment Republicans to ally with the tea party movement.

  • Dan Riehl: The Left's Double Standard on Hidden Video

Below are the Radio Television Digital News Association’s guidelines for the use of hidden cameras in news gathering. The Left, abetted by the mainstream media, has sought to demonize James O’Keefe from the start. Not content to stop there, they have also used O’Keefe to demean and undermine Andrew Breitbart given their linkage as the ACORN video story was playing out. In turn, they also attempt to further undermine O’Keefe for any connection to Breitbart. In short, if you prove to be an effective fighter against the Institutional Left, any and all events, associations, facts – and even non-facts – are considered fair game to try and damage your reputation.

At the same time, a Leftist blogger can call a sitting Republican Governor, not just lie about his identity, but impersonate another, David Koch – and there’s nary a peep about the dubious ethics involved. In fact, the usual Leftist suspects, TPM and the Washington Post, for example, make hay out of it to attack the conservative Republican. Worse, not only does the Democrat Party ignore the dubious ethics employed by the imposter caller, they demand an investigation into, not the impersonator of a private citizen, but Gov. Scott Walker.

Governor Scott Walker’s conduct on the prank call with the David Koch imposter has largely receded from the national media spotlight, but if Wisconsin Democrats have their way, it will be the subject of an investigation by Wisconsin’s enforcer of campaign finance and ethics statutes.

If that isn’t clear enough as regards the double-standard employed by the Left and their media pals, you may recall another recent incident where NBC’s Dateline attempted to do a sting targeted at individuals who would dare attend a NASCAR event. Thanks to new media, in the person of Michelle Malkin in that instance, the plot was exposed.

On a side note, James O’Keefe promptly released the entirety of his video of his lunch meeting with Ronald Schiller, now gone from NPR. To this day, Katie Couric has not done that as regards a hit piece on Sarah Palin she manufactured from an interview during the 2008 campaign.

I have been talking with a producer of the NBC Dateline show and he is in the process of filming a piece on anti-Muslim and anti-Arab discrimination in the USA. They are looking for some Muslim male candidates for their show who would be willing to go to non-Muslim gatherings and see if they attract any
discriminatory comments or actions while being filmed.

They recently taped two turbaned Sikh men attending a football game in Arizona to see how people would treat them. They set them up with hidden microphones and cameras, etc.

Again, here are the guidelines for covert filming and taping in news gathering. Inserting NPR for “system failure” should about cover it. No wonder NPR executives are now scrambling for the door. Hopefully, Senator DeMint and other Republicans have the good sense to follow through on what former NPR development officer, Ronald Schilling, told us – they’d be better off without public funding, in his words. Who better than their chief fund raiser at the time would know?

    Guidelines for Hidden Cameras
When might it be appropriate to use deception/misrepresentation/hidden cameras in news gathering?

You must fulfill all of the criteria to justify your actions.

■When the information obtained is of profound importance. It must be of vital public interest, such as revealing great system failure at the top levels, or it must prevent profound harm to individuals.
■When all other alternatives for obtaining the same information have been exhausted.
■When the journalists involved are willing to disclose the nature of the deception and the reason for it.
■When the individuals involved and their news organization apply excellence, through outstanding craftsmanship as well as the commitment of time and funding needed to pursue the story fully.
■When the harm prevented by the information revealed through deception outweighs any harm caused by the act of deception.
■When the journalists involved have conducted a meaningful, collaborative, and deliberative decision-making process on the ethical and legal issues.
Criteria that do not justify deception:

    ■Winning a prize.
    ■Beating the competition.
■Getting the story with less expense of time and resources.
■Doing it because others already did it.
■The subjects of the story are themselves unethical.

  • Exec Fired After NPR Expose

NPR Executive Vivian Schiller is gone. But the problem of raging anti-conservative bias in government funded radio and TV still remains. Don't believe me? I'm the one who was permanently banned from NPR because of my loud, proud pro-troop support on Judy Woodruff's show.

"...On the May 21 edition of Fox News' Hannity & Colmes, conservative radio host and Move America Forward chairman Melanie Morgan addressed a May 17 statement by Linda Winslow, executive producer of Public Broadcasting Service's The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, in response to viewer complaints regarding the discussion between Morgan and VoteVets.org chairman Jon Soltz on the May 8 edition of the NewsHour. Winslow wrote: "Since the program is produced live, we can't do much to eliminate rude guests from your television screen once the segment has begun; what we can do is guarantee you will never see that person on our program again." On Hannity, Morgan accused Media Matters for America -- which published a May 9 item on Morgan's NewsHour appearance -- of encouraging "their people" to call PBS and get her banned from the network. Morgan further stated: "I am demanding an apology from Linda Winslow, because this is a woman who clearly is lying about the situation." Morgan also asserted: "PBS has a blatant anti-conservative bias. They don't want to hear a proud pro-American, pro-troop point of view," adding, "I think that ... PBS should be ashamed of itself."

In introducing the segment, co-host Sean Hannity stated: "In an action that reeks of censorship, PBS' signature broadcast, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, effectively banned conservative radio host Melanie Morgan from any future appearances." Hannity was referring to Winslow's statement, which appeared in PBS ombudsman Michael Getler's column on May 17."

Don't forget Juan Williams, a liberal who made the "mistake" of saying exactly what he thought and was fired as a result.

"Former NPR commentator Juan Williams spoke exclusively to FoxNation.com about the NPR sting video, which captured NPR senior executive Ron Schiller in a bigoted and revealing rant about conservatives, Jews and the American taxpayer. “This was an act of incredible condescension,” said Williams. “The rank hypocrisy of his remarks was telling for me. They will say things to your face about how there’s no liberal orthodoxy at NPR, how they play it straight, but now you see it for what it is. They prostitute themselves for money.”

Williams said Schiller’s remarks about the Jews dominating the newspaper industry was “outright anti-Semitism,” and labeling Tea Party members “gun-toting” “racists” reveals “their real feelings.” This is how they talk in boardrooms and editorial meetings, explained Williams. “This is how they really feel.”

Just yesterday, NPR CEO Vivian Schiller told the National Press Club that NPR needed taxpayer money to survive as an institution … but Ron Schiller revealed in the sting video that NPR doesn’t need federal funds. “They’re up on Capitol Hill saying we need money, asking for an increase in fact, telling everyone else to sacrifice so they can have icing on their cake … just to preserve their biased agenda when we’re $14 trillion in debt,” Williams said.

Ron Schiller said he was “proud” of the way Williams was fired, which contradicted the official NPR line where they “regret” they way it was handled. This really struck Williams. “This shows a real lack of remorse … these people say one thing in public, then candidly say I need to see a shrink and they’re proud of what went down ... it shows exactly who the villains are.”

The vote to continue funding this white hot hatred of conservtives with taxpayer dollars is coming up in the Sente. Wanna bet that they keep the dough?

  • NPR Exec Savages Tea Party, Conservatives

Ron Schiller is proving EXACTLY what conservatives have charged about NPR - wild bias, craven interests in protecting their own power, proven liars and now apparently supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood.

READ THIS EXPOSE from the Daily Caller:

A man who appears to be a National Public Radio senior executive, Ron Schiller, has been captured on camera savaging conservatives and the Tea Party movement.

“The current Republican Party, particularly the Tea Party, is fanatically involved in people’s personal lives and very fundamental Christian – I wouldn’t even call it Christian. It’s this weird evangelical kind of move,” declared Schiller, the head of NPR’s nonprofit foundation, who last week announced his departure for the Aspen Institute.

In a new video released Tuesday morning by conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe, Schiller and Betsy Liley, NPR’s director of institutional giving, are seen meeting with two men who, unbeknownst to the NPR executives, are posing as members of a Muslim Brotherhood front group. The men, who identified themselves as Ibrahim Kasaam and Amir Malik from the fictitious Muslim Education Action Center (MEAC) Trust, met with Schiller and Liley at Café Milano, a well-known Georgetown restaurant, and explained their desire to give up to $5 million to NPR because, “the Zionist coverage is quite substantial elsewhere.”

On the tapes, Schiller wastes little time before attacking conservatives. The Republican Party, Schiller says, has been “hijacked by this group.” The man posing as Malik finishes the sentence by adding, “the radical, racist, Islamaphobic, Tea Party people.” Schiller agrees and intensifies the criticism, saying that the Tea Party people aren’t “just Islamaphobic, but really xenophobic, I mean basically they are, they believe in sort of white, middle-America gun-toting. I mean, it’s scary. They’re seriously racist, racist people.”

Schiller goes on to describe liberals as more intelligent and informed than conservatives. “In my personal opinion, liberals today might be more educated, fair and balanced than conservatives,” he said.

    Watch the video:

O’Keefe’s organization set up a fake website for MEAC to lend credibility to the fictitious group. On the site, MEAC states that its mission is combating “intolerance to spread acceptance of Sharia across the world.” At their lunch, the man posing as Kasaam told Schiller that MEAC contributes to a number of Muslim schools across the U.S. “Our organization was originally founded by a few members of the Muslim Brotherhood in America actually,” he says.

Schiller doesn’t blink. Instead, he assumes the role of fan. “I think what we all believe is if we don’t have Muslim voices in our schools, on the air,” Schiller says, “it’s the same thing we faced as a nation when we didn’t have female voices.”

When O’Keefe’s two associates pressed him into the topic, Schiller decried U.S. media coverage of Egypt’s uprising against former dictator Hosni Mubarak, especially talk of the Muslim Brotherhood’s influence on the protests and future of Egypt. Schiller said that is what he is “most disappointed by in this country, which is that the educated, so-called elite in this country is too small a percentage of the population, so that you have this very large un-educated part of the population that carries these ideas.”

When the man pretending to be Kasaam suggests to Schiller that “Jews do kind of control the media or, I mean, certainly the Zionists and the people who have the interests in swaying media coverage toward a favorable direction of Israel,” Schiller does not rebut him or stop eating. He just nods his head slightly.

The man posing as Kasaam then joked that his friends call NPR, “National Palestinian Radio,” because, according to him, NPR is the only media outlet that covers Palestinians’ perspective. Schiller laughed.

When the ersatz Islamists declare they’re “not too upset about maybe a little bit less Jew influence of money into NPR,” Schiller responds by saying he doesn’t find “Zionist or pro-Israel” ideas at NPR, “even among funders. I mean it’s there in those who own newspapers, obviously, but no one owns NPR.”

Liley chimes in at this point to add that, “even one of our biggest funders who you’ll hear on air, The American Jewish World Service, may not agree with us. I visited with them recently and they may not agree with what we put on the air but they find us important to them and, sometimes it’s not that easy to hear what we say and what our reporters say, but they still think NPR is important to support.”

Schiller added that “they [the American Jewish World Service] are really looking for a fair point of view and many Jewish organizations are not.”

Later in the lunch, Schiller explains that NPR would be better positioned free of federal funding. “Well frankly, it is clear that we would be better off in the long-run without federal funding,” he says. “The challenge right now is that if we lost it all together we would have a lot of stations go dark.”

When one of O’Keefe’s associates asked, “How confident are you, with all the donors that are available, if they should pull the funding right now that you would survive?,” Schiller answered this way: “Yes, NPR would definitely survive and most of the stations would survive.”

That is precisely the opposite answer Schiller’s boss, NPR CEO Vivian Schiller (no relation), gave at a press conference Monday in Washington. “We take [federal defunding] very, very seriously,” she said. “It would have a profound impact we believe on our ability – of public broadcasting’s ability – to deliver news and information.”

At the Café Milano lunch, Schiller said he’s “very proud of” how NPR fired Juan Williams. “What NPR stood for is non-racist, non-bigoted, straightforward telling of the news and our feeling is that if a person expresses his or her opinion, which anyone is entitled to do in a free society, they are compromised as a journalist,” he said. “They can no longer fairly report.”

With that, Schiller once again directly contradicted NPR’s public statements. At her Monday press conference, Vivian Schiller apologized for the way it handled the Williams matter. “We handled the situation badly,” she said. “We acted too hastily and we made some mistakes. I made some mistakes.”

  • Help Wanted ....Immediately!

UPDATE: I have instructed my webmaster to delete the hateful comments of "Walter" from my website and his brooming can't come soon enough. What kind of sick individual talks like that? Michelle Malkin and her family are in pain and do not deserve this kind of commentary.

Walter, God will sort you out. In the meantime, you may not speak like that in MY house.

My friend Michelle Malkin is putting out a plea today for your help, especially if you live in the Seattle area.

Help if you can, pray if you can't.

"...This is my beautiful cousin, Marizela Perez:

SEATTLE — The photo above from Marizela’s friends/family shows the tattoo on her left inner arm that reads “lahat ay magiging maayos” — a Tagalog saying for “all will be well.”

Thanks so much to all of you for your prayers and for helping to spread the word across the Internet.

Thanks to many friends/contacts in the Seattle-area media who covered her disappearance over the past few days, including:

    Seattle Times
KOMO radio’s John Carlson and KOMO TV’s Shomari Stone
    KING TV
    KIRO

Marizela still hasn’t been heard from or seen by family since Saturday.

The Seattle PD says it has probable visual identification of Marizela boarding the Othello train near her home in the Rainier Beach area and commuting into the University District during the noon hour on Saturday. A Seattle PD detective from the missing persons bureau says there’s evidence that she was last seen Saturday afternoon at the Safeway in the city’s University District on 4732 Brooklyn Ave NE between 1-2pm. At some point during that time, purchases were made on her debit card.

The police say they “have no reason to suspect foul play” at this point. There are several reasons and grim evidence that cause the family to remain gravely concerned about Marizela’s safety, health, and well-being. As mentioned yesterday in the flyers the family is handing out, Marizela was taking anti-depressants and has been for some time. As my family gets on the ground to continue the search for Marizela, please continue to get the word out to anyone in the Seattle-area you know. Here’s the updated info on her last known location/time. If anyone saw or talked to her in the University District Saturday afternoon or has seen her since, please contact law enforcement ASAP:

She is a University of Washington undergrad and she has been missing since Saturday afternoon, when she left the Rainier Beach neighborhood headed to the UW Seattle campus. Her parents have been trying to reach her all weekend; she apparently never made it to campus and has not been heard from by phone/Internet. They’ve filed a missing persons report with the Seattle Police Department. Hospitals have been alerted, according to family members, and bus and train routes have been checked. No sign.

Here’s more info we’re trying to spread via Facebook and Q13Fox/KCPQ in Seattle:

  • Sheen, Slow Suicide

UPDATE: Charlie Sheen is NOT winning. Charlie Sheen has just completed the total annihilation of his career.

    Way to go, Warlock.

I'll admit it - I am totally riveted by the death spiral of Charlie Sheen. I can't look away as he loses his mind, his soul, his body and his children on national television.

Does this make me a bad person?

I can offer a half dozen explanations for reading his Tweets, watching last night's rant on UStream.tv (bad stagecraft, dude!) Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight and all the newspapers covering this train wreck.

But the simple fact of the matter is that I am SO grateful it isn't me.

As a recovering addict (compulsive gambling) I consider myself blessed by God above for living through a nightmare not unlike Sheen's (except for the part about going crazy on national television, losing a 50 million dollar paycheck and watching CPS take my children away.)

I watch and pray for Charlie and his family, and shake my head at the intensity of his bi-polar rants, hoping that he will get a Godshot before it is too late.

I pray for Martin and Janet Sheen and Charlie's siblings. I hope that their pain will ease but I know that it won't. Meanwhile, all five of Charlie's children need our support and prayers too.

    What. a. frickin. mess.

  • Stop Screwing Around: Kill the Pirates

Somali pirates off the coast of Africa are increasing emboldened in snatching innocent men, women and children from the high seas. The are held for ransom, and then murdered if the money doesn't come through fast enough.

    Enough.

If you want to stop this barbarity, the solution is simple enough. Do as the Russians do and simply kill one Pirate family member for every hostage death. But hey, that's just the compassionate conservative coming out of me.

Cliff May at at National Review Online has another take.

"..Maj. Gen. Tom Wilkerson, USMC (ret.), is CEO of the U.S. Naval Institute. He told me he believes it is high time for a new approach. The U.S., along with a coalition of the willing, he says, could and should increase the risks of piracy and lower the rewards. That means taking the offensive: killing pirates at sea, in the harbors where they dock their vessels (and those they seize), and in what are now their safe havens and homes in the coastal areas of the northern Somali province of Puntland.

“Anytime you give your enemies places where they can rest and regroup, where they can’t be attacked, you cede the initiative to them,” Wilkerson said. “This doesn’t require putting boots on the ground. We have demonstrated that we have the technology” for both surveillance and remote attacks.

Would taking the war to the pirates be a violation of international law, as some proponents of inaction and appeasement claim? Wilkerson said it would not: “Two UN resolutions, 1851 and 1897, allow hot pursuit” at sea, into port, and onto land.

Other measures could be implemented as well. There could be expanded and coordinated naval patrols in the area, drawing from all nations whose ships, cargoes, and crews are threatened. Under current law, insurance companies are actually incentivized to pay ransom. New legislation could be introduced to encourage shipping companies to defend their vessels and crews with less fear of being sued for “violating the rights” of brigands. An international tribunal could be set up to prosecute captured pirates. Somali nationals could be trained as a constabulary force to prevent piracy, once suppressed, from being reestablished.

“The point is you have to decide on a goal and a strategy to achieve it,” Wilkerson argues. “But if we don’t do something there will be more opportunities for innocent deaths like we saw last week.”

  • Red States Rising

Lots of chatter on the political grapevine today about a possible, maybe even likely defeat of President Obama in 2012.

Just the thought of it soothes my savage soul.

"..It's crunch time in Washington, D.C.  President Obama must know that a dozen Republicans are saving those boastful videotapes of Mr. O pushing President Mubarak out of power, followed by an endless series of breakdowns throughout the Arabic world.

Just think about that as a 30 second commercial next election year:

Obama: "Mubarak must resign. Now means Now!"

Map of the Middle East with fires exploding in a series from Tunisia to Bahrain, to the sound of breaking glassware. Over and over again.

Those chandeliers will still be falling from the ceilings in the next election campaign, because the instability in the Arab world is not going to be settled quickly. Obama will be seen as another Jimmy Carter, and like Carter, his first challenge will come from inside the Democratic Party."

  • Dictator's Dough: Richer than Allah

The astonishing wealth of Libyan tyrant Muammar Gaddafi and his family has been laid bare as countries around the world begin freezing billions of dollars worth of their assets.

The U.S. alone has seized $30billion (£18.5bn) of their investments, while Canada has frozen $2.4bn (£1.5bn), Austria, $1.7bn (£1bn) and the UK, $1bn ($600m).

These assets appear to be just the tip of the iceberg, as no one is yet certain exactly what the family owns around the world.

But they include an enormous portfolio of properties in the West End theatre and shopping district of London - worth $455m (£280m) as well as $325m (£200m) in shares in Pearson, the owner of the Financial Times and Penguin books.

The assets also include a $15million luxury mansion in an affluent suburb of North London.

Nestled among the homes of TV presenters and actors is the eight-bed home with a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and suede-lined cinema room.

The house even has an electrically operated rubbish store, which raises and lowers eight bins into the ground before a steel plate folds over to hide them discreetly.

It was bought mortgage-free by Capitana Seas Ltd, a holding company registered in the British Virgin Islands and owned by Gaddafi's most high-profile son, Saif.

Residents in the neighbourhood have been campaigning to oust Saif, a former student of the London School of Economics, who acquired the property in 2009.

The Supreme Court, in an 8-1 decision, ruled Wednesday that members of the renegade Westboro Baptist Church have a constitutionally protected right to protest military funerals, though their demonstrations are widely despised and deplored. The case presented the justices with a high-profile question about the breadth of First Amendment speech and assembly protections, with a majority of justices ruling that these fundamental rights outweigh the concerns of grieving family members who would rather not deal with the obnoxious protesters.
  • Eagles Up in Berkeley

    Greetings All,

On March 26th we will all gather at Godspeed, 5532 San Pablo, Oakland, where we will celebrate "Vets return to Berkeley".  This all day annual event is all encompassing - whether your ride a motorcycle or drive a cage, doesn't matter - the only requirement is that you love the United States of America.  There are multiple purposes to the Rally.  We will be raising money to help send a teacher to Vietnam.  We are honoring the US Military for protecting the world's children.  We are putting the message out that "all these various groups, clubs and patriots can put aside their competitiveness and club policies, and unite at any time, to confront anti American's whether they be individuals, groups, or, city council members that are more interested in advancing their individual efforts for higher office, than they are in taking care of the electorate that voted for them -  they don't take care of their own cities."

We are expecting a few hundred participants to be attending, starting at 10:00 - get there early.  We will be hearing from Gold Star Families - those that have lost a son or a daughter on the field of battle.  We will have Blue Star Families - they have sons and daughters serving in harms way and they can tell you about them and what its like to live worrying about their loved ones.  Both of these groups have to listen to some of the hate speech and diatribe presented by their fellow citizens - who don't have a clue or even care about our true American Heros.

We will also be trying to raise money to send a teacher to Vietnam - something the kids there need badly - and WE are doing it, not the anti-American groups that could care less about anything but their own agenda - to undermine the efforts of our American Heros.  We are putting our money where are mouths are.

Most importantly - we need you and everyone that's available to show up and show American pride.  If at all possible, bring your flags - USA, POW/MIA, and, service flags.  If you belong to a club or a group, bring your flag or a sign so you can show who you represent and who actually cares.

This event is sponsored by Eagles Up ( www.eaglesup.us <http://www.eaglesup.us/>  ), a 501 (c) 3 non profit corporation.  Cash donations should be mailed to "Eagles Up, PO Box 360046, Milpitas, Ca 95036 - with a note specifying "Vets Return to Berkeley".

There are reasons to believe we will have good media coverage as we are inviting Gold and Blue Star Families, along with a couple of media personalities.  Names will be released WHEN we get a commitment.  We will ask the Gold Star  Families and the Blue Star Families to be on board from at least 11:00 until 2:00 - longer if they'd like, roaming amongst us and sharing their stories.

If you know anyone with a patriotic paint job, have them contact me as we would like to have those vehicles on display.

Please share this email and announcement with everyone you know, independent riders, clubs, motorcycle clubs, riding clubs, car clubs, organizations, everyone you can think of - make this a huge event.  And send a loud message.

    BRING YOUR FLAGS.

    Schedule:

10:00 - Welcome, check in, and socialize.

    11:00 - band starts

    12:00 - Guest Speakers

    1:00 to 4:00 - BBQ

    5:00 - formal end - band stops

  • Wi. Gov to Cheesehead Dem's...Last Chance!

(Reuters) - Republican Gov. Scott Walker on Monday gave absent Democratic lawmakers an ultimatum to return to Wisconsin within 24 hours and vote on a proposal to reduce the power of public sector unions or the state would miss out on a debt restructuring.

Walker stepped up the pressure on 14 Senate Democrats who fled the state to avoid a vote on the bill as he prepared to unveil on Tuesday a two-year state budget that he said cuts $1 billion from funding to local governments and schools.

What began as one small state trying to rewrite the rules of labor relations has blown up into what could be the biggest confrontation with American labor unions since then President Ronald Reagan fired striking air traffic controllers in 1981.

  • Infuriating!

I heard the word this morning that the pyscho crazy Fred Phelps and Family from Westboro Baptist church (which includes ONLY Phelps family members and a couple of stragglers) is getting 16K in legal expenses after being sued by the family of slain soldier Matthew Snyder, who was murdered by terrorists in Iraq.

Phelps organized a protest at Matthew's funeral. Something about queers and God's revenge. I never did understand what this insane man is preaching.

All I know is that Phelps is going to hell, and so is the Fourth District Court of Appeals who found in favor of Phelps.

    Via MichelleMalkin.com

My stalwart friends at the American Legion have stepped up to raise funds to cover the legal expenses of fallen Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder’s family. As you all know, Snyder’s funeral was targeted by the evil miscreants of the bogus Westboro Baptist Church. The Snyders took the protesters to court. In October 2007, a jury awarded the Snyders $2.9 million in compensatory damages, $6 million in punitive damages for invasion of privacy and $2 million for causing emotional distress. It was thrown out on appeal by the Fourth Circuit. Federal judges have now ordered the family to pay $16,510 to ringleader Fred Phelps as they pursue a Supreme Court case. SCOTUS agreed earlier this month to hear the Snyders’ appeal.

Regardless of how you feel about the merits of the Snyders’ suit, the Snyders deserve to know that Americans are forever grateful for their son’s heroism and for the family’s sacrifice. We shouldn’t stand by and watch them bankrupted.

MOTHAX at The American Legion Burnpit tells me the group’s National Adjutant is seeding a fund-raising effort for the Sndyers with his own funds. The group will also be submitting an amicus brief in the Snyders’ case and intends to raise enough money to cover the court-ordered legal expenses and any other expenses incurred by the Supreme Court appeal.

    They need your help.

Go here to donate now — and spread the word.

DAVID KIRKHAM SENDS THIS TEA PARTY REPORT FROM UTAH:

Last night an reporter from CNN travelling with the Tea Party Express showed up at our shop to talk about the Tea Party Express that was coming through Provo and Salt Lake City, Utah today. (I was the local organizer for the Provo event). I gave him a tour through our shop and then took him for a drive up the canyon in one of our cars. We talked the entire time. We ended up speaking for about 4 hours. At the end of our conversation, he dropped a bomb, “You know, I decided to come and find the facts about you guys for myself. The facts are the facts. Keith Olberman is way out in left, crazy field! You guys aren’t anything like the media has portrayed you.” I replied, “I know.” He told me he was then going to write a story on the “real” Tea Party people he met on his travels through Nevada, Utah, and Colorado.

This morning the Tea Party Express stopped in Provo. We had about 500 people show up. I introduced Mayor John Curtis who was just elected to office (off-year elections for the cities here). He inherited a 5 million budget shortfall. The first thing he did was cut funding for the Miss Provo Pageant. He said they were welcome to have the pageant–just not on the city’s dime. He then asked the city employees to pick 5 guys from each department to figure out where they could save money in the budget–and they DID! He balanced the budget without raising taxes a penny, just like he promised before he was elected. He left his business to run for mayor. He obviously brought his business skills with him. There are some great ones out there.

The comment of the day (Provo) came from a reporter who asked me, “I am trying to take a picture of a counter protester’s sign and I can’t find one. Do you know where any are?”

In Salt Lake over 1000 people attended. A total of 2 counter protesters showed up. They left after 10 minutes.

I spoke with several media people today. This morning I was on KSL radio, in the afternoon I was on PJTV (coming soon, I gave you a shout out!) and tonight I was on ABC Channel 4 News. The Channel 4 News anchors were most respectful and exceptionally nice both on the air and off the air. Throughout the day I spoke with more print journalists than I can remember. I have hopes all these flared emotions of late will temper. It was a great day.

Here’s a pic from Salt Lake City.

  • Chuck DeVore's campaign for U.S. Senate in California

Melanie Morgan and Chuck DeVore in Searchlight, Nevada on March 27, 2010
The Tea Party Express has endorsed Chuck in his race for the U.S. Senate

    Dear Friends,

After a health scare that brought me home from Washington D.C. and my dream job, I decided to throw myself into a campaign to take back our great country from the liberals who are trying to destroy it. My heart is with our men and women who serve our country in uniform, as always. That is just one of the reasons that I have joined Chuck DeVore's campaign for U.S. Senate in California.

Before I tell you why I’ve joined DeVore’s team, I’d like to congratulate Chuck for earning an endorsement and donation from the Tea Party Express. I was in Searchlight, Nev., and had the honor of introducing Chuck to the proud and patriotic crowd of Tea Partiers last weekend.

I am going all out for Chuck DeVore’s campaign to oust liberal tax-and-spender Democrat Barbara Boxer. The No. 1 reason: Because he is a TRUE conservative and he can beat Boxer.

We need to boost Chuck Devore’s war chest today to show that Americans are tired of the reckless policies of Barbara Boxer and her fellow Democrats. This is not just about California, it’s about the Union!! Remember that Ronald Reagan started in California and launched a conservative revolution.

Did I mention that Chuck Devore worked in the Reagan Administration?
Chuck DeVore during 2004 Army training

Please contribute now and let’s take our country back! If Massachusetts can elect a Republican to the seat long held by Ted Kennedy, California can surely oust Boxer and elect a real Conservative who respects the Constitution.

Chuck DeVore has stood against liberals who are working to destroy America with cap-and-tax, the healthcare takeover, and the so-called stimulus bill. When his own party strays out of line, Chuck DeVore stands against it, too.

We can count on Chuck DeVore to stand with the American people. As the co-founder and former chairman of Move America Forward – the nation’s largest grassroots, protroop nonprofit – I am proud to join forces with Chuck Devore. He is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army retired Reserve.

Imagine trading in the left-wing Boxer for a true American hero!!!

We can do more than imagine it. Today you can be part of history by donating to Chuck Devore’s campaign. Stand with me as we fight to take back California and the country.

    Make a donation today of $25, $50, $75, or $100

  • Why Won't Carly Debate?

That's the $64,000 question that many Republicans are asking today after Ms. Fiornia ducked the debate at Brandman University in Irvine, CA, this evening.

    http://www.oclnn.com/orange-county/2010-03-30/california/debate-spurs-controversy-among-candidates

According to the story, "Initially, Fiorina said she could not participate because of a scheduling conflict, according to [Fiorina spokeswoman Amy] Thoma." But then, says Thoma, “We felt the proposed moderator [Dr Mike Moodian, an assistant professor of social science at Brandman,] would not be fair and impartial so we declined.” And what did Dr Moodian do to create this impression? According to the story, "Thoma accused Moodian of 'bullying' Fiorina by including reporters on reply e-mails regarding the debate negotiations."

Yep, the spokeswoman for Carly Fiorina, would-be United States Senator and challenger to Barbara Boxer, says Carly feels bullied via e-mail by an assistant professor of social science. That surely portends effectiveness in Washington, D.C.

Now, let's be absolutely clear: the Fiorina campaign's victimhood smokescreen is exactly that. Carly Fiorina is dodging this debate because she wants to debate as little as possible. She does poorly in these uncontrolled settings where she may be freely challenged, as exemplified rather painfully in the March 5th radio debate on KTKZ. For a prime example, go to this URL, and scroll down to the clip entitled, "Chuck confronts Carly Fiorina on her foreign policy experience," to hear Chuck DeVore provoke Fiorina into spluttering anger on an otherwise minor point:

    http://chuckdevore.com/n/news.asp?artid=256

Carly Fiorina is simply unequipped, in temperament or training, for an aggressive exchange of views and open skepticism of her claims. That's why she won't debate this evening. It's an act of self-preservation for her campaign -- but for an aspirant to the world's greatest deliberative body, it's a shameful evasion.

  • "Showdown in Searchlight", After Action Report

Thousands converge in Searchlight, Nev., for the Tea Party Express cross-country bus tour kickoff.

The wind whipped off the desert floor, but the chill seemed to light a fire beneath the Tea Party activists, 35,000 strong, who showed up in Searchlight, Nevada this weekend to send a message to Harry Reid: YOUR FIRED.

I was honored to be able to introduce Sarah Palin, former Governor of Alaska, and the petite dynamo who dominates conservative politics.

I was also thrilled to be able to introduce to the crowd my friend Chuck Devore, who is running for U.S. Senate in California, who is the only true conservative candidate in a three way Republican primary run-off.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cG9Usz8h90

While traveling on the Tea Party Express bus, some of Senator Harry Reid's supporters showed their true colors by assaulting us with eggs. They were union thugs from the SEIU, of course. They went after my friend Andrew Breitbart, who was stuck on the street corner accidentally. Fortunately, he escaped their clutches. Boy, is he pissed.

San Francisco Chronicle reporter Joe Garofoli wrote about the tea party, and the coverage was actually fair. Imagine that.

Palin kicks off Tea Party Express tour

    Sunday, March 28, 2010

    (03-28) 04:00 PDT Searchlight, Nev. --

Organizers described this gathering Saturday of thousands of Tea Partiers minutes from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's home in desolate Nevada scrub as a "conservative Woodstock."

But instead of gorging on LSD, free love and Jimi Hendrix, thousands of attendees binged on seething anger at Washington and swooned to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as the Tea Party Express kicked off a 43-city cross-country bus tour that's intended to rouse voters to their cause.

"We're sending a message to Washington," Palin told the crowd that exploded in chants of "Sarah! Sarah!" when she took the stage.

"The big government, big tax Obama-Pelosi-Reid spending spree is over," she said, referring also to the president and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco. "You're fired."

    Midterm preview

Days after the passage of the health care reform law, the gathering outside the 749-resident town about 60 miles south of Las Vegas previewed the bare-knuckles way the 2010 midterm elections will be fought in California and elsewhere.

The test now is whether the street energy of the anti-tax, small-government message of the Tea Party movement can translate from mad-as-hell gatherings like this into a broader force that can generate electoral change.

But before they can take on vulnerable Democrats like Reid, who is facing a tough re-election battle, the Tea Partiers are going after Republicans deemed insufficiently conservative for their liking. Four Republicans vying to challenge Reid in November appeared before the audience Saturday in a voters forum.

The political pinata of the day was Reid. A giant billboard in Searchlight, close to where Reid and his wife frequently share a booth for dinner at the Searchlight Nugget Casino, said "Will Rogers Never Met Harry Reid."

  • The Other McCain

Law Enforcement Prepares for Massive Tea Party Crowd Saturday in Nevada

    Posted on | March 25, 2010 | 4 Comments

Hey folks, this is my last blog posting before I hit the road to Searchlight. Stacy McCain from The Other McCain has little jewel. (P.S. I just heard from a little birdie that Brian Williams of NBC News is shooting a story about the kick-off of the Tea Party Express.)

Did the news that I’m coming out West provoke this frenzy?

Whenever hundreds of vehicles and dozens of buses unload passengers in a town with fewer than 1,000 people, traffic is bound to be a problem. It’s magnified when few roads lead into town.
Welcome to the Tea Party Express stop in Searchlight.
The strategy of law enforcement officials and rally organizers for Saturday’s noon event is basically to ensure attendees arrive and depart safely and to alleviate as much chaos as possible in town.
State Department of Transportation spokesman Bob McKenzie said his agency’s primary concern is to keep traffic along U.S. Highway 95 moving smoothly. The rally site is a quarter-mile off the highway, potentially making it a logistical challenge to keep buses and vehicles from backing up at the side-road turnoff. . . .

All this, just for me? Or is it Andrea Shea King? Well, OK, there’s also Andrew Breitbart, Joe the Plumber, Wayne Allyn Root, Dick Armey, Roger Hedgecock, Melanie Morgan and a certain former governor of Alaska . . .

There have recently been unfair attacks against Sean Hannity, but we know he has been a total champion in supporting our troops and we are honored to stand with him.

Since the beginning of our organization in 2004, Move America Forward has been a pro-troop grassroots organization that has worked tirelessly to give our troops a voice and serve them as best we can. It is a difficult and often frustrating endeavor, and there is never enough money to help the many brave men and women in America’s armed forces who need and deserve our assistance. Sean Hannity has been a friend to our organization and has helped us greatly in serving our troops and their families.

His generosity in supporting our troops is legendary. He personally gave $100,000 to the Wounded Warriors Foundation and over $200,000 to the Freedom Alliance. When we had a group of Gold Star Parents who had lost a son in Iraq, Sean provided the funding so we could take them to Iraq and see where their children died in the cause of protecting American freedom. They could see with their own eyes the progress that had been made in turning Iraq into a democratic country that would no longer harbor terrorists or threaten peace.

Rep. Andre Carson, Indiana Democrat, who is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, claims that "tea party" protesters hurled racial slurs at fellow CBC member Rep. It just happened on the way to votes. Coming out of [the Cannon House Office Building] . . . John Lewis’ chief of staff came with us. It was just the three of us walking down the steps.

Sean Hannity – A Stalwart Champion for our Troops

    Don’t Listen to His Detractors

As America’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, Move America Forward has been privileged to support our troops and their mission against Islamic terrorism. Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin , Dr. Laura and so many other talk show hosts have given unselfishly to this noble cause.

From time to time they are attacked, usually by leftist anti-war extremists, but sometimes even conservatives make the mistake of joining the circular firing squad against one of their own.

Again in 2007, Sean and Jill Hannity wrote a check for $15,000 to send care packages to our troops through Move America Forward, quietly, without expectation of anything in return.

The attacks against Sean have been leveled by Ms. Debbie Schlussel, who has been a tireless fighter against Islamic terrorism. But, Debbie has missed the mark in her attacks. She assaults Sean Hannity as well as the organization Freedom Alliance for paying transportation costs and hotel stays related to Hannity’s blockbuster “Freedom Concerts”. But that simply isn’t true. Sean pays for his own transportation and hotel rooms.

She doesn’t understand that in addition to his generous financial support for pro-troop causes, Sean gives the most valuable thing he has to the pro-troop movement: his time and reputation. Hardly an hour of his syndicated radio and TV show goes by without Sean saying something supportive of our troops. You cannot find anywhere a better friend or ally to the men and women of the United States military.

Many of you have probably been to his Freedom Concerts, which provide a huge morale boost to our troops and patriotic Americans back home. They do cost a lot of money to produce, but they also produce so much good. The time he spends personally with the troops and their families is of immeasurable in value. Just ask any of them who have attended.

Much like Ronald and Nancy Reagan when our POW’s were released from Viet Nam, Sean has quietly reached out to our troops in ways that the public will never know. In addition to these acts of kindness, they don’t even know about his various acts of generosity. Among his many gifts, he personally contributed thousands of dollars to the Move America Forward Troopathon – the 8 hour telethon broadcast on the internet so that we could send care packages to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Move America Forward has shipped over 168 tons of care packages to troops overseas, and yet we continually feel as though we haven’t done enough. There are so many more troops who deserve our thanks and gratitude. With the help of celebrities like Sean Hannity, we are closer to reaching out and touching all of our deserving troops overseas.

For the record, Sean Hannity, we know to be a tireless worker, and a selfless supporter of our troops. Sean has visited wounded troops at military hospitals, he has organized several trips to Iraq, and most importantly he has consistently honored our troops and their missions in the War on Terror and defended their honor whenever those on the fringe left trash our brave men and women.

It is easy for people to criticize. Ironically, the harshest critics are the ones that have little to show in support for our troops. The pro-troop community knows who our friends are. Sean Hannity is our friend, and Americans are grateful for his continual dedication and generosity towards our troops.

Frum Forum: Evidence Shows Accusations Against Sean Hannity Are Not True

    by Big Hollywood

    Frum Forum:

Debbie Schlussel posted a long piece last evening about a charity that Sean Hannity is affiliated with, accusing them of malfeasance and mismangement.

Frum Forum has done an exhaustive investigation of the charity in question, Freedom Alliance, and found enough evidence to substantially rebut each of Schlussel’s claims. I’ll approach them one by one.

Schlussel Accusation: Sean Hannity improperly benefited from Freedom Alliance by charging private jets, hotel stays and luxury cars.

Freedom Alliance’s press release today stated categorically that they have “never provided planes, hotels, cars, limos, or anything else to Sean [Hannity] … to be clear Sean pays for all his own transportation, hotels, and all related expenses for himself and his family and friends and staff.” We are satisfied that this is true.

It is true that Freedom Alliance spent $60,000 on aviation services in 2006, but there is no evidence that this was for Sean Hannity’s benefit, and it seems unlikely that the money was used to lease a Gulfstream 5. Rates for G5 aircraft average around $8,000 an hour. $60,000 would not buy much at that rate.

We have also been able to confirm that Sean Hannity has no operational control over the organization. Nor is he even a member of the group’s board.

If Schlussel stands behind her statement, then she will have to do better than a quote from a blind source, who is, as she admits, a friend of a friend.

Schlussel Accusation: Too Little of Freedom Alliance’s Spending Has Gone to Program Outcomes.

Frum Forum has intensively investigated Freedom Alliance’s 990 Forms, which have been submitted to the IRS and checked by an independent auditor.

Debbie Schlussel alleges that only $1 million of the organization’s $8.8 million in revenue was going to soldiers and scholarships in 2008. This figure is the product of a misleading and selective reading of the organization’s tax forms.

The numbers that Schlussel cite refer to direct financial transfers to individuals – that is, if there is a direct grant that Freedom Alliance gives to a soldier. This does not include all the positive work that doesn’t involve a direct grant.

Freedom Alliance also spends money on non-cash benefits for military families, involving things like taking soldiers to sporting events and sending care packages to troops.

The highest paid employee earned $152,000 in 2006. The second highest paid employee earned $83,000. In 2007, Freedom Alliance spent about $1 in $7 on salary and benefits.

Total staffing costs may seem high, but they are not out of line with what is spent at many other charities. For example, the Armed Services branch of the YMCA spent about $1 in $2 on salaries and benefits in 2008.

Be sure to read the whole thing here.

  • ABC News Checkbook Jounalism Shocker!

Okay, so I'm not really shocked. But it is disgusting that my former employer for 24 years whips out a checkbook and pays 200 grand to an accused child killer - for ratings.

And I can't begin to tell you how many times an indignant lawyer or spokes parrot for ABC denies that such a pure, journalistic endeavor would ever pay for news - only the tabloids do that, you know.

    What a bunch of liars.

"...New evidence was released Thursday in the Casey Anthony murder case, including the amount of money she received from a television network, as well as conversations she had with other inmates.

Anthony's defense team told Judge Stan Strickland that she no longer has funds to pay for the trial. Her attorney testified ABC News paid Casey Anthony $200,000, but that those funds are now gone.

Strickland is deciding whether to approve the declaration of Anthony being indigent, which would make the state pay for her defense.

A transcript of conversations Anthony had with a fellow inmate was also released, stating that "an Orange County Corrections officer may have facilitated the communication once the friendship had begun."

Casey Anthony remains jailed on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee, who was last seen in June of 2008. Caylee was not reported missing until a month later. The little girl's remains were found in a wooded area near the family's home on December 11, 2008. Investigators say the toddler's body was found with duct tape over her mouth."

  • Tear Partiers Bring Change, Tumult

    A Commentary By Michael Barone

    Monday, March 15, 2010

The political commentariat doesn't know what to make of those thousands of Americans who have spontaneously thronged to tea parties and town hall meetings to oppose the big government programs of the Obama administration and Democratic congressional leaders.

Some on the left attack them as fascists or racists, though evidence of that is sorely lacking. David Brooks in The New York Times compared them to the New Left campus radicals of the 1970s, which comes closer to reality but doesn't quite ring true.

Some tea partiers, citing the Declaration and the Constitution, compare themselves to the patriots of 1776 and the founders of 1787, which has some validity but seems overly self-congratulatory.

In terms of their immediate effect on conventional politics and their potential for continued influence, I think the tea partiers bear an uncanny resemblance to the antiwar activists in the Vietnam War period.

Like the tea partiers, the antiwar folk did not start off affiliated with one political party. They campaigned against an incumbent Democratic president and his political heir in 1968. Four years later, some supported Rep. Pete McCloskey's antiwar primary challenge to Richard Nixon. The tea partiers have plenty of corrosive things to say about the Republican politicians of the last decade, and at least some of them may support likeminded Democrats.

But if they stay involved, the tea partiers are likely to gravitate to the Republican Party, just as the antiwar folk gravitated to the Democratic Party, on which they had a long-lasting and pervasive effect.

Not all of that effect was positive. Antiwar Democrats beat hawks in primaries and then lost general elections to Republicans. The disarray of the 1968 Democratic national convention helped beat Hubert Humphrey, and the antiwar 1972 nominee George McGovern lost 49 states. Some antiwar folks voiced an anti-Americanism that turned off ordinary voters.

But antiwar Democrats supplied energy and impressive recruits to their party. Many Democrats who were motivated by dovish views and supported by dovish volunteers and contributors won breakthrough victories in 1974, enabling the party to hold congressional and legislative majorities for much of the next 20 years. And even as Democrats lost support from white Southerners and blue-collar men, their antiwar tendency helped them win support from affluent and culturally liberal suburbanites who now, despite Democrats' workingman rhetoric, form the dominant part of the party base.

You can see the intellectual influence of the antiwar people in the speeches of Democrats opposing the conflicts in the Gulf in 1991 and Iraq in 2002. Their arguments are a better fit for the facts of the Gulf of Tonkin incident of 1964 than for the facts on the ground in 1991 and 2002.

Like the antiwar activists of 40 years ago, the tea partiers include many good citizens moved to political involvement because of intellectually serious concerns about public policy. Similarly, they include a much smaller number of cranks, conspiracy theorists and congenital malcontents.

Tea partiers have caused some internal party splits (see the New York 23 special election), and some may launch primary challenges or third-party efforts that will elect Democrats. Any time a large number of motivated people inject themselves into electoral politics, they cause a certain amount of chaos.

They also add a lot of energy, political creativity and enthusiasm into a moribund and dejected political party, like the Democrats of 1968 and the Republicans of 2008. New people change the positions and focus of their parties. The Democrats before 1968 were a pro-Cold War party. Since 1968 they have been, with occasional exceptions, a dovish party. Hawks need not apply (ask Joe Lieberman).

The Republicans for the last two decades have been a party whose litmus tests have been cultural issues, especially abortion. The tea partiers have helped to change their focus to issues of government overreach and spending. That may be a helpful pivot, given the emergence of a Millennial generation uncomfortable with crusading cultural conservatism.

It's not clear whether the tea partiers' influence on Republicans will last as long as the antiwar cohort's imprint on Democrats. But their concern -- the fact that government spending is on a trajectory to increase far beyond revenues -- seems likely to persist. In which case a spontaneous movement that no one predicted and that no one person led could end up, again, reshaping one of our great political parties.

  • Ginni is Ginned Up, Supports Tea Party

Here's some great news: the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is entering the political fray and supporting the cause of Tea Party conservatives.

    How do I know this?

Alan Colmes, well-known liberal talk-show host is indignantly decrying her right to free speech at his website, where I found this post.

***Note to Alan Colmes - Justice Clarence Thomas is entirely capable of making up his own mind without the influence of his wife. You demean both by suggesting otherwise. I have been trying for YEARS to inflluence my liberal husband - without any luck.

    Dammit.

    March 14, 2010, 11:59 AMET • 17 Comments »

Virginia Lamp Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has started something called Liberty Central Inc because of President Obama’s “hard-left agenda.” (h/t The Political Carnival)

“I am an ordinary citizen from Omaha, Neb., who just may have the chance to preserve liberty along with you and other people like you,” she said at a recent panel discussion with tea party leaders in Washington. Thomas went on to count herself among those energized into action by President Obama’s “hard-left agenda.”

An “ordinary citizen”, that is, whose husband just happens to be a justice of the United States Supreme Court. An “ordinary citizen” who is able raise big corporate cash for her new concern because of a recent Supreme Court decision, Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission, where her husband voted in the majority. An “ordinary citizen” who has consulted the heavily-funded conservative Heritage Foundation.

In 2000, while at the Heritage Foundation, she was recruiting staff for a possible George W. Bush administration as her husband was hearing the case that would decide the election. When journalists reported her work, Thomas said she saw no conflict of interest and that she rarely discussed court matters with her husband.

Mrs. Thomas is quite fond of the tea partiers.

“I adore all the new citizen patriots who are rising up across this country,” Thomas, who goes by Ginni, said on the panel at the Conservative Political Action Conference. “I have felt called to the front lines with you, with my fellow citizens, to preserve what made America great.”

The move by Virginia Thomas, 52, into the front lines of politics stands in marked contrast to the rarefied culture of the nation’s highest court, which normally prizes the appearance of nonpartisanship and a distance from the fisticuffs of the politics of the day.

And the tea partier is quite fond of certain conservative bloviators.

Her biography notes that Thomas is a fan of Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin, author of “Men in Black: How the Supreme Court is Destroying America.”

“She is intrigued by Glenn Beck and listening carefully,” the bio says.

  • CA. Senate Races Heats Up

Tom Campbell is a very nice fellow, a highly experienced politican, and a man with a polished resume on the Republican side. I know Tom Campbell. I have interviewed Tom Campbell, and debated Tom Campbell several times.

He is too liberal for my taste, but he seems quite reasonable when you talk to him and very likeable.

But Tom Campbell has a deeply disturbing problem which threatens to de-rail his nascent Senatorial campaign.

The former Congressman from the South Bay is seeking the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate against Chuck DeVore, the conservative standard bearer and Carly Fiorina, the establishment GOP'er (and McCain supporter) but he can't run away from a record of supporting a known supporter of terrorism.

The Chuck DeVore campaign writes: "In brief, both Seema Mehta of the Los Angeles Times and Michael Zapler of the San Jose Mercury News have written excellent stories on Campbell's provably false assertions -- made in Friday's debate with Chuck DeVore and Carly Fiorina -- about his past affiliation with convicted terrorist supporter Sami Al-Arian."

  • Group Grope!

Due to some severe computer problems, I didn't get a chance to post the Groupapalooza media pick-ups from Mill Valley, California on Sunday.

For those of you who are reading from around the country and may not know it, Marin County is the liberal belly of the beast. Some beastly individuals tried to silence, shut-down, shout over and strip conservatives of their right to free speech and assembly for a Tea Party event, while calling us names and generally acting like dopes.

    Didn't happen.

Take a look at this article from MarinMore.com and marvel! Congrats to organizer Sally Selikovsky and Brian Sussman from KSFO Radio, and others who pulled it together for a HUGELY successful 600 person event!

Hundreds of conservatives (Republicans and others), show up at Marin event

The Mill Valley Community Center was awash in red, white and blue as hundreds of Republicans, Independents, Libertarians and self-described conservatives gathered for a rousing networking event on Sunday afternoon to promote their brand of change.

The so-called Groupa-Palooza event, was billed by sponsor Bay Area Patriots as the "largest gathering of conservatives in the Bay Area" and when we arrived shortly after 1 p.m., there were at least a hundred people lined up outside waiting to get into the already jam-packed event. There were a few colorful characters sprinkled among the flag-wearing grandmothers and preppy business types, but overall it was a pretty sedate bunch.

Not so sedate were the handful of Lyndon LaRouche supporters who waved Hitler-style Obama posters while shouting anti-Obama slogans at the crowd.

Sally Zelikovsky, the event organizer and founder of Bay Area Patriots was quick to point out that although "they're exercising their right to free speech, they're not with our group."

What was missing in this very liberal county, was the opposition. Nary a protest or Democrat sign to be seen anywhere. Sitting nearby, however, was Deborah Phelan, a local Progressive Party organizer who had waged a one-woman fight against the conservative event.

"The decision was that we were not going to protest," said Phelan, "Because we don't give any credence to the people who are sponsoring this event."

Terry Inscoe an Independent from Ross, who was standing in line, was one of those who gave the event credence.

"I'm not with any particular group," he said, "I wanted to hear what peoples views are. I'm concerned with deficit spending and I prefer a small government to big government and I don't like the health care bill."

Inside, political groups ranged from the traditional like the 72-year-old California Federation of Republican Women to the more fringe My Liberty San Mateo 9.12 Project a group inspired by Glenn Beck. If there was a unifying theme at the event, it was a preponderance of buttons and placards reading "Reset 2010." It is the rallying cry of conservatives everywhere as they make the push for a change in the political makeup of Congress with next November's election.

Roger Hubbard of Marin was carrying a broom to illustrate the point.

"It's a clean sweep in November," said Hubbard, "And for Harry Reid come November, the only thing he's going to be pushing through the house, is a broom."

(We assume he meant 'house' not House as Reid in in the Senate.)

Party faithful pitched their particular passion; heath care reform, guns, taxes or immigration. There were speeches and tributes, and a particularly beautiful a-Capella rendition of the national anthem sung by a quartet of schoolgirls.

There were also a lot of political candidates pushing their platforms from the well known (Carly Fiornia for U.S. Senate) to the lesser known (Doris Gentry for State Assembly, 7th District). Everyone was giving away some kind of swag--hats, buttons, pencils and postcards but if you wanted the hot item of the day, a "Reset 2010" button, that set you back two bucks.

Speaking pointedly about the Democratic leadership in Congress, Zelikovsky echoed the reset theme as she addressed the crowd-

"And remember, you'll all be eating humble pie in November when we reset the Congress in 2010- and debug the political system that has been corrupted by politicians like Reid and Pelosi."

  • Infuriating!

Gap between Federal Workers and Private Sector Workers is a whopping $38,548

    By Dennis Cauchon
    USA TODAY

Federal employees earn higher average salaries than private-sector workers in more than eight out of 10 occupations, a USA TODAY analysis of federal data finds.

Accountants, nurses, chemists, surveyors, cooks, clerks and janitors are among the wide range of jobs that get paid more on average in the federal government than in the private sector.

Overall, federal workers earned an average salary of $67,691 in 2008 for occupations that exist both in government and the private sector, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data. The average pay for the same mix of jobs in the private sector was $60,046 in 2008, some $7,645 below the average pay for federal workers.

However, these salary figures do not include the value of health, pension and other benefits, which averaged $40,785 per federal worker vs. $9,882 per private worker, a difference of $30,903 per worker in 2008, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

"The data flip the conventional wisdom on its head," says Cato Institute budget analyst Chris Edwards, a critic of federal pay policy. "Federal workers make substantially more than private workers, not less, in addition to having a large advantage in benefits."

Federal pay has become a hot political issue in recent months because of concerns over the federal budget deficit and recession-battered wages in the private sector.

US Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., made federal pay an issue in his successful campaign to fill Edward Kennedy's seat, and is fighting for a federal pay freeze.

USA TODAY used Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data to compare salaries in every federal job that had a private-sector equivalent. For example, the federal government's 57,000 registered nurses working for Veterans Affairs and elsewhere, were paid an average of $74,460 a year, $10,680 more than the average for private-sector nurses.

The BLS reports that 216 occupations covering 1.1 million federal workers exist in both the federal government and the private sector. An additional 124 federal occupations covering 750,000 employees (air-traffic controllers, tax collectors and others) did not have direct equivalents, according to the BLS.

  • Disgusting: VoteVets, Soros-Backed Antiwar Group, Uses IED Attacks in New Global Warming Disinformation Campaign!

This is perhaps the sickest antiwar advertisement I've seen in some time. Can you imagine troops getting blown up on video used to sell the radical left's global warming agenda? The clip's below, from the Soros-backed VoteVets. Note how the spot's running as a click-thru web-ad at Daily Kos, where it reads, "TELL CONGRESS TO DEFEND AMERICA BY PASSING CLEAN ENERGY CLIMATE LEGISLATION" and "OIL MONEY IS FUELING TERRORISTS AND FUNDING OUR ENEMIES" (screencaps here and here)

We send $1 billion a day in oil money overseas -- often to nations that don't like America very much. Some of that money ends up in the hands of terrorists and funds deadly attacks on American forces, like EFPs specially designed to piece our armor.

This is what our troops are up against, everyday ...

At the VoteVets entry we find a link to George Soros' Center for American Progress, "Quadrennial Defense Review Should Spark Interagency Climate Conversation."

Actually, VoteVets doesn't care a bit about Middle East oil dependency. Founder John Soltz has been in the news before. Melanie Morgan attacked him and VoteVets in 2007 for supporting al Qaeda in Iraq. See, "VoteVets.org Scam Exposed," which links to this Wesley Clark ad:

The Stop Iran War website is still up.

Melanie eviscerated John Soltz in a 2007 PBS debate, saying that VoteVets advocacy was "shameful and really disrespectful to our troops":

... let me also say that I certainly would hope that the Democrats, if they’re planning their strategy meetings with people like Mr. Soltz and MoveOn.org, others who are meeting daily in telephone conference calls, which we are not, by the way, on our side, that al-Qaida is listening to their results, as well ....

And by the way, please keep Melanie Morgan in your prayers. She's fighting the good fight against thyroid cancer. See, "I Ain't Dead Yet, Says the Cowgirl."

  • Liz Cheney, Andy McCarthy: Saving America one TV Appearance at a Time

Thank God for Liz Cheney and Andrew McCarthy. They are talking, talking and talking every single day about a subject that Left wing activists and Obama administration officials wish would just disappear: The Al Qaeda Seven. In fact, they won't shut up about the volunteer lawyers who represented terrorists - and now are employees at Eric Holder's Department of Justice. Talk about a conflict of interest!

Normally, I would never even consider linking to the New York Times, but this blog is too important to miss.

The ThreadThe Thread is an in-depth look at how major news and controversies are being debated across the online spectrum.

While it’s unclear whether it’s been Dick Cheney’s health problems or relatively low profile in recent weeks, but the left side of the blogosphere hasn’t had much to say about its Republican bête noire lately. So imagine the relief when another member of Cheney family decided to step into the breach:

“Nine top political appointees at the Justice Department previously worked as lawyers or advocates for ‘enemy combatants’ confined at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, prompting new questions from Congress and conservative critics about the integrity of the administration’s handling of detainees,” reports Richard A. Serrano of The Los Angeles Times. “One of the sharpest critics is a group called Keep America Safe, run in part by Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney. It has derided the unidentified appointees as the ‘Al Qaeda 7,’ and in a video on its Web site Tuesday asked, ‘Whose values do they share?’ ”

Should we worry that the Justice Department hired lawyers who had defended terrorist suspects? Or are their critics the real threat?

Well, not Liz Cheney’s apparently, and we can assume her father and probably her mother are of the same opinion. But what about the nation’s 78 million other families?

Chez Glenn Greenwald, we find displeasure. “It’s the type of McCarthyite act which would, if we had any minimal standards in our political culture, result in the shunning of Cheney and Kristol by all decent people … This slander encompasses scores of American military lawyers, who have vigorously, passionately and often successfully defended numerous Guantanamo detainees, including those accused of being Al Qaeda operatives.”

  • No Blow is Too Low

Lloyd Marcus, an unhyphenated black American responds to attack on Mark Williams, spokesman for the Tea Party Express, by Dylan Ratigan at MSNBC:

"..As a black proud Tea Party patriot, I am extremely offended by MSNBC TV show host Dylan Ratigan's baseless accusation that the Tea Party Movement (my white brother and sister fellow patriots) embraces Nazis and racists. Ratigan's attack epitomizes the liberal media's commitment to protect Obama and his radical agenda at all costs. They have a genuine disdain for freedom, capitalism and We The People."

    Read more here.

And more attacks are coming towards Tea Party Patriots like Sally Zelikovsky, a stay-at-home Mom of three who is organizing a conservative political candidates forum and Tea Party event in Mill Valley, California this weekend.

Deborah Phelan, a former Mill Valley resident and Associated Press reporter, is demanding that the city shut down the event, silence the participants, and run them out of the county...being the nice progressive that she is.

    Fat chance, baby.

"...Christine Sansom, director of the Mill Valley Department of Parks and Recreation, said that so far, Phelan has been the only person to object to the Bay Area Patriots' use of the community center.

"Our building is a rentable building, and we don't discriminate against renters as to what their political beliefs, or religious beliefs are," she said. "I can't. There is freedom of speech."

Way to go, Christine! Even the dopiest liberal (usually) understands the concept of Constitutional freedom.

If you live anywhere in the greater Bay Area, it's a great idea to scamper over to the Mill Valley Community Center on Sunday and meet some great pariots, talk to your fellow conservatives, and hook-up with the conservative community.

    Tell them Mel sent you.

  • Who Are The Tea Party Peeps? Let's Just Ask Them

A Study of the Tea Party movement just released today at www.BigGovernment.com and it's fascinating reading!

“The Early Adopters” Report uncovers that most oppose a third party, many are new to politics

CHICAGO, — A new study released today reveals that Tea Party activists are motivated by feelings of responsibility to future generations and belief in America’s founding principles, but still struggle with questions of leadership and identity. The study conducted by Sam Adams Alliance, The Early Adopters: Reading the Tea Leaves, also reveals that Tea Party activists are a diverse group trying – often for the first time – to change the political landscape by holding elected officials more accountable. The results of the full report can be found at www.activistinsightsreport.com.

The Sam Adams report offers the first-ever insights into the Tea Party movement that include a survey sample made up entirely of recognized Tea Party activists.

“A lot of surveys have focused on the Tea Party movement, but they’ve been about what others think of them, and don’t reveal the motives of actual Tea Partiers,” said Sam Adams Alliance chairman Eric O’Keefe. “We decided to learn what the Tea Party leaders are up to the old fashioned way: We asked them.”

The findings confirm that a large number of Tea Party activists are politically involved for the first time. 47 percent of activists surveyed said that they were “uninvolved” or “rarely involved” in politics before their participation in Tea Party groups.

Three political issues stood out as being the most important to Tea Party activists. When asked which issues were “very important” to them, 92 percent said “budget,” 85 percent said

“economy,” and 80 percent said “defense.” No respondents listed social issues as an “important direction” for the movement.

Other findings of the study include:

86 percent oppose the formation of a third-party.
36 percent support a 2012 Sarah Palin Presidential candidacy.
81 percent have a website for their organization.
90 percent cited “to stand up for my beliefs” when characterizing their initial reason for involvement.
62 percent identified as Republicans, 28 percent as Independents, 10 percent as “Tea Party”

  • Tea Party Activists Called Nazis & Racists

Shocking Must See TV today at PMSNBC where a new host is apparently challenging Keith Olbermann for Ugliest TV Anchor SubHuman.

"I don't want to continue with this. You're wasting valuable oxygen. Can we cut off this man's microphone? It was offensive. You're offensive. Your treatment of my show as a vehicle to spread your propaganda, ignore my questions - offensive. And an indication of what is wrong with the dialog in this country - period. Not to mention a group that would accept Nazis and racists," says Dylan Ratigan to Mark Williams, spokesman for the Tea Party Express.

The Lefty's there just can't help themselves when they angrily demonize the Tea Party activists like my friend and fellw talk show host Mark Williams, who handled himself responsibly and with great aplomb in the face of sheer insanity. Really. Watch Dylan Ratigan's face (the TV Host who compares Tea Party people to Nazi's and Racists.)

  • From the Gossip Mill

WashTimes Continues To Shrink - 3/1 - DCRTV hears about another cut at the Washington Times. A source tells us that the paper's marketing manager was let go on Friday. "She was at the paper less than a year and had relocated from Minnesota," we hear. "When you think about it, one could argue that there is not really a lot to 'market' at the Times these days. Talk amongst employees, both current and former, is about the severance package she was given." Also: As DCRTV has told you, there are more rumblings that the Times could sever its relationship with its morning radio show, "America's Morning News," which is heard on WTNT (570 AM). Syndicator Talk Radio Network could seek a new media partner for the show, we hear.....

  • Liberty Loses Another Voice

Lee emailed me this Sunday expressing astonishment at how many people have contacted him or read my postings here at this little ole website expressing their emotions about the changes at KSFO in San Fancisco.

And did you notice Walter E. Williams even posted in the comments section? The most handsome black man in the country (according to himself) and the thougtful economist who has been a frequent contributor to the Lee Rodgers show? That was nice.

Google Alerted me that another piece is out today in cyberspace from Uncovered.net.

Settle in for an interesting read.

    Lee Rodgers

On Thursday, February 18, one minute before the conclusion of his four-hour morning radio show on KSFO in San Francisco, conservative talk show host Lee Rodgers was fired. Rodgers was under contract until July, but it didn’t matter. Rodgers wasn’t allowed to gracefully say good-bye to his listeners. The next day, KSFO evening host Brian Sussman had taken over the morning job. Rodgers’ 40-plus years of radio broadcasting career, is over, at least for now.

While it may sound like just another cupboard-clearing in the cut-throat broadcasting business, the undignified jettisoning of Lee Rodgers is troubling on many levels.

KSFO is a prickle in the liberal paw of the San Francisco bay area. It is a highly-rated conservative news/talk format which has been proudly dealing the left fits, with Rodgers at the morning-drive helm, for decades. Rodgers’ curmudgeonly mix of small-government, strong Israel, pro-military, anti-jihad, tax-cutting missives, and his interviews with conservative authors, columnists and newsmakers are not meaningfully available on any other station in this liberal California market.

Rodgers’ demise was heralded about a year ago, when his co-anchor Melanie Morgan, was abruptly fired in much the same fashion as Rodgers. The morning radio partners are credited with initiating the statewide investigations into the use of cancer-causing MTBE gasoline additive, which leached into the state’s groundwater after it was trumpeted by liberal environmentalists as a way to reduce air pollution. Rodgers and Morgan also launched the statewide petition drive to recall Governor Gray Davis from office. Ms. Morgan was a pro-military, anti-radical Islam activist who flew more than once to the troops in Iraq and personally confronted anti-military activists at protests in the Bay area. Both hosts were under constant barrage by liberal bloggers. KSFO’s advertisers were pressured to withdraw.

Liberty lost important voices when Morgan and Rodgers were fired.

  • Joe Biden's Daughter Caught in Cocaine Scandal

Did she or didn't she snort that blow?

The daughter of Vice-President Joe Biden is the subject of intense scrutiny today as The New York Post is breaking a story about her alleged cocaine use caught on camera.

Ashley Biden, who youngest of Joe and Jill Biden's children is a social worker in Delaware, and spent a year on the campaign trail with her father.

"...A "friend" of Vice President Joseph Biden's daughter, Ashley, is attempting to hawk a videotape that he claims shows her snorting cocaine at a house party this month in Delaware.

The anonymous male acquaintance of Ashley took the video, said Thomas Dunlap, a lawyer representing the seller.

Dunlap and a man claiming to be a lawyer showed The Post about 90 seconds of 43-minute tape, saying it was legally obtained and that Ashley was aware she was being filmed. The Post refused to pay for the video.

The video, which the shooter initially hoped to sell for $2 million before scaling back his price to $400,000, shows a 20-something woman with light skin and long brown hair taking a red straw from her mouth, bending over a desk, inserting the straw into her nostril and snorting lines of white powder.

She then stands up and begins talking with other people in the room. A young man looks on from behind her, facing the camera. The lawyers said he was Ashley's boyfriend of a few years.

The camera follows the woman from a few feet away, focusing on her as she moves around the room. It appears not to be concealed. At one point she shouts, "Shut the f--- up!"

Allrighty then. We all know about the troubled off-spring of Presidents, Vice-Presidents and other politicans (Patty Davis and Eleonor Mondale spring to mind) but it is interesting to me that the media is starting to cover this kind of scandal - so early in The Chosen One's administration. Usually they cover it up for awhile. Now, not so much.

If this story is true, and if Miss Ashley has a problem, I wish restored health and sobriety for her.

Addiction is ugly. Trust me, I know.

  • On the Wings of Angels

While the lunatic fringe group that celebrates a man who murders four police officers, 21,000 real Oaklanders who mourn their loss came out on a soft, warm Spring day to honor these heroes.

Among the saddened crowd was U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, no strangers to violence herself.

"Every day that they suited up for work, they knew it might be their last," Feinstein said. "They knew they were outnumbered, outgunned and, all too often, underappreciated.

"But they still dedicated their lives to the cause of public safety and justice, and, in the end, they died for it."

I was travelling eastbound on Interstate 80 this morning when I saw the five mile long caravan of officers on motorcycles and cruisers passing through the verdant hills of Fairfield, en route to the Coliseum for the services today.
So sad. Such a stupid horrible senseless ending of life for these honorable men.
I am comforted knowing that God and his angels will wipe the blood and tears from the faces of the dead.
God has welcomed our heroes home.
  • Power To the Peeple!

    HOT TALK
You say you want a 'revolootion'?
Exclusive: Melanie Morgan slams spelling-challenged socialists who support cop killer
    WorldNetDaily.com

Today the city of Oakland, the Bay Area and the entire country say goodbye to four police officers who were murdered by a parolee, no-good street thug. Thousands are expected to attend the funeral of officers killed Saturday: Sgts. Mark Dunakin, 40, of Tracy; Erv Romans, 43, of Danville; and Daniel Sakai, 35, of Castro Valley. Officer John Hege, 41, of Concord, also was shot Saturday and declared brain-dead Sunday. He was taken off life support late Monday.

Lovelle Mixon, the cops' killer and a suspected child rapist, is now a popular icon in the sick and twisted minds of those who support Mixon's murderous actions and hate the cops. The other night on TV, a reporter held pictures of Mixon's victims and some maniacs stepped forward and spit on the photographs. It was sickening, but what do you expect from street punks who take no personal responsibility and worship the likes of Che Guevara, a mass murderer, the Black Panthers, and now Mixon, the pervert and cop killer.

Mixon's apologists are proud of themselves and are not only spitting on pictures of the officers who died in the line of duty, but they're marching in the open, videotaping themselves and trying to intimidate folks who don't believe in their radical lunacy.

I received an e-mail from a woman identified as Wendy Lea Snyder, presumably an organizer, or at least a support of the Uhuru movement. (Uhuru is a socialist group whose radicalism is based in "black power.")

The subject line was: "Lay of Uhuru, Bi--h."

Here are the contents of the e-mail. I report, you decide about the intellectual level of the leftists in Oakland:

    Wendy Lea Snyder [email protected]

You post about our righchous and just march tonigh proves you are an oppresionist pig who will be taken down when the Revelootion comes! POWER TO THE PEEPLE!

I'm not sure if she is saying I'm an impressionist, such as Degas, Monet and Renoir, which is unlikely given they didn't have their start with gang graffiti on the streets of Oakland. At any rate, she's mad as hell and she's going to take me down in the "revelootion," which must be what happens when hordes of rioters rev up for looting.

I simply commented on the behavior of those from Uhuru who think it's OK to kill four police officers. I wrote about the Democratic wing of the Uhuru chapter of Oakland ("A Rush to Racism") and their support for the man who murdered four police officers and wounded a fifth. I hoped that reporting this affront to civilized society would spark action by our so-called leaders to restore civility.

    Sadly, I was wrong.

The silence from President Obama – the One, the man who uses his words to calm seas, open the minds of terrorists and drop the Dow like an iron bowling ball – is deafening. Where the hell are the peacemakers? Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink and Rev. Sharpton: Oakland is calling and they're talking your language.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported "about 60 people marched and rallied in Oakland on Wednesday to condemn the police and honor Mixon.

"OPD you can't hide – we charge you with genocide," chanted the demonstrators as they marched along MacArthur Boulevard, near the intersection with 74th Avenue where Mixon, 26, a fugitive parolee, gunned down two motorcycle officers who pulled him over in a traffic stop. He killed two more officers who tried to capture him where he was hiding in his sister's apartment nearby.

It's time for the '60s idiots to snap out of their dope-fueled hazes and take a look around. Four peace officers are dead. Crazies are out in force supporting their killer. This is not OK in a civil society. Got that Obama? How about your terrorist-defending attorney general? Any word out of there?

We're not only mourning our four police officers, we're mourning the decay in our society fueled by the left whose motto continues to be power to the peeple – the ones who hate America. They're looking to spark a revelootion.

  • Rushing Towards Ratings Success

Every since Paul "The Forehead" Begala and James "Snakehead" Carville got loaded, smoking up a scheme to demonize Rush Limbaugh, inquiring minds want to know how that is working out for the Democrats.

    Now we have some answers.

RadioEqualizer has taken a look at the ratings for the Right Wing Noise Machine, and oddly, Rush is still at the top of his game.

Will the White House ever learn its lesson?

A combination of several powerful forces has resulted in explosive talk radio ratings growth, with indications of much more to come in the months ahead.

Primary factor driving the upward move? You guessed it: Rush Limbaugh. That's in contrast to
declining support for Rush's arch-rival Obama.

With Limbaugh at the top of his game, including a more deeply loyal audience than ever, the numbers were expected to be strong. The beginning of the Obamist era, combined with a direct White House campaign targeting the talk titan, however, provided rocket fuel for El Rushbo's ratings. Even to seasoned industry veterans, this data should prove stunning.

Finally, implementation of the new, far more accurate electronic Portable People Meter (PPM) ratings system has benefited talk radio, as the manual diary-based "phantom cume" problems of the past disappear. For years, programmers complained that the old system cost them listenership and are now armed with the proof they'd long sought.

    That may be why
Obama and his supporters have fought implementation of PPM, as we originally reported in October of last year.

  • Right-Wingers Get Their Own Political Study Center - in Berkeley?

Some of us are fretting that a new study group at UC Berkeley isn't going to end well.

40 years after some wild-eyed leftists stood up on a car and started screeching about free speech rights as they burned down the campus, UC Berkeley is funding a Center for the Comparative Study of the Right-Wing movement.

Nearly a million dollars was donated, anonymously of course, to help fund this so-called study group.

I'm thinking that the "anonymous" donor probably has initials that start with a G and end with an S.

The New York Times reports that "..one of the first efforts, said Ms. Paolo Bacchetta, who attended a planning meeting last week, may be a conference devoted to links between right-wing groups across borders. “Most of these right-wing movements have some kind of connections transnationally,” she said. “Alliances across different countries take different forms.” For example, she said, Hindu nationalism has branches in countries besides India, or right-wing religious groups in different countries might join together to oppose abortion. "

Who knew? I had no clue I was involved in any transnational alliance, opposing abortion. Sheesh. The political agenda of these people is shockingly apparent to everyone except, oh, themselves.

According to the NY Times, "Ms. Bacchetta insisted that researchers’ own political orientation was irrelevant. “It’s a question we always get asked,” she said. “But we really like to think of ourselves as scholars in the academy,” working on evaluating these groups without any agenda. “We’re not a political organization.”

    Yeah. Right. Whatever.

  • Cop-Killer Supporters Who Threaten to Kill

    POWER TO THE PEEPLE!

Another bunch of Democrat kooks, crazies, loons and Leftists took to the streets of Oakland last night, defining the word "insane" for anyone too lazy to look it up.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports "about 60 people marched and rallied in Oakland on Wednesday to condemn the police and honor Lovelle Mixon, who was killed by Oakland police after he fatally shot four officers Saturday."

"OPD you can't hide - we charge you with genocide," chanted the demonstrators as they marched along MacArthur Boulevard, near the intersection with 74th Avenue where Mixon, 26, a fugitive parolee, gunned down two motorcycle officers who had pulled him over in a traffic stop. He killed two more officers who tried to capture him where he was hiding in his sister's apartment nearby.

I wrote about Democratic wing of the Uhuru chapter of Oakland ("A Rush to Racism") and their support for the man who murdered four police officers, and wounded a fifth. I hoped that reporting this affront to civilized society would spark even a comment of outrage.

    Sadly, I was wrong.

Again, from the Chronicle, "the protest was organized by the Oakland branch of the Uhuru Movement, whose flyers for the march declared, "Stop Police Terror." Many marchers wore T-shirts featuring Mixon's photo, including a woman identified by march organizers as Mixon's mother. The woman declined to comment and gave her name only as Athena.

....Lolo Darnell, one of Mixon's cousins at the demonstration, said, "He needs sympathy too. If he's a criminal, everybody's a criminal."

Asked about police allegations that Mixon was suspected in several rapes, including that of a 12-year-old girl, marcher Mandingo Hayes said, "He wasn't a rapist. I don't believe that."

Earlier today, I recieved an email from a woman identified as Wendy Lea Snyder, presumably an organizer, or at least a support of the Uhuru movement.

The subject line was "Lay of Uhuru, Bitch."

My curiosity piqued by a seeming non-sequiter, I opened the email.

I report, you decide about the intellectual level of the Leftists in Oakland.

  • Soros: "I'm Having a Very Nice Crisis"

George Soros, renowned left-wing, America hater and billionaire financier, isn't helping squelch the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy theory that he is responsible for manipulating the markets that have led to financial chaos on Wall Street.

    ...he's happily embracing our misery.

'I'm having a very good crisis,' says Soros as hedge fund managers make billions off recession

    soros

George Soros said the current economic crisis has been the culmination of his life's work.

A hedge fund manager who predicted the global credit crunch has said the financial crisis has been 'stimulating' and the culmination of his life's work.

George Soros, who predicted the global financial crisis twice before, was one of the few people to anticipate and prepare for the current economic collapse.

Mr Soros said his prediction meant he was better able to brace his Quantum investment fund against the gloabal storm.

But other investors failed to take notice of his prediction and his decision to come out of retirement in 2007 to manage the fund made him $US2.9 billion.

And while the financial crisis continued to deepen across the globe, the 78-year-old still managed to make $1.1 billion last year.

'It is, in a way, the culminating point of my life’s work,' he told national newspaper The Australian.

Soros is one of 25, top hedge fund managers from across Wall Street who have defied the credit crunch crisis to reap a total of $11.6billion (£7.9bn) last year.

    What. An Asshole.

Open for Questions: President Obama to Answer Your Questions on Thursday

Today, the President invited everyone to use a new feature on WhiteHouse.gov called "Open for Questions" to ask a question about the economy and rate other questions up or down. Then, on Thursday morning, the President will conduct a special online town hall on the economy and answer some of the most popular questions and the event will be streamed on WhiteHouse.gov.

Code Pink's Medea Benjamin was supposedly retired from trying to sneak into places -- for disruption purposes, of course. Like when she protested the Iraqi prime minister's visit to Congress. Or the 2004 RNC. Or ex-Defense Sec. Donald Rumseld, and so on.

But the Activist's Activist, the Zelig of protest couldn't resist trying to slip into Sen. John McCain's fundraiser the other night at the Ritz-Carlton here in her hometown. While we got bounced, Medea didn't. "I didn't wear any pink," she told us. "Somebody saw me in the(Ritz-Carlton) bar upstairs beforehand and they said, 'Medea -- what are you doing here? And why are you so dressed up?' I was like, 'Shhhhhhhh. Don't you see all the cops in here?'"

That's because it's reasonable to guess that one out of every three working San Francisco police officers has arrested Benjamin at one time or another during a demonstration in the city. Same goes for the cops in Washington, D.C. , too. She's become so well known that she's stopped trying to bust into places. "I'm worried that I'll blow it for the people I'm with who are trying to sneak in."

Once McCain started to speak, she said he mentioned the protesters outside in a you-gotta-love-San-Francisco kinda way. That was Benjamin and crew's cue. They stood up, called out McCain for his support of the war, said San Francisco doesn't support it and tossed off a couple of "Bring the troops home now's" and "No War in Iran's" before unfurling a three-by-two-foot banner that read "McCain=War Monger." Those who live in SF know the drill.

Benjamin said McCain good-naturedly listened, then asked if they at least made a contribution to the campaign. Benjamin replied, "Yeah, the truth."

Then they were carted off by the San Francisco police in attendance. No citations were issued as neither the hotel nor the campaign wished to press charges. Benjamin said the cops were very nice in escorting her outside.

And unretirement felt good. Said Benjamin: "It was good to see that I can still slip into these things."

No word from the McCain campaign on their version of the disruption.

Digital Journal and its amazing writer Susan Duclos is reporting on financial woes for the city of Berkeley due to protests, backlash and overtime costs.

    Oops!

I don't know how I missed this one, but the launch of the new website to Boycott Berkeley www.BrigadeAmerica.com  is featured in the Washington Times.

One of our (former) top spooks at the CIA is pitching in to help punish the Berkeley City Council for calling our Marines 'unwelcome and unvited intruders.'

And now back to Susan Duclos, also known as 'Spree' at her own website called "WakeUpAmerica." Susan has more here on MAF's Monday march to US Attorney's office with demands to investigate and prosecute civil rights violations in Berkeley, Ca. on February 12th.

  • Charges Against Rush Limbaugh? Not Likely!

For devoted listeners of Rush Limbaugh, or Jeff Christie (as I used to know him back in our Kansas City rock and roll radio days) Operation Chaos spawned some worry and concern.

(Limbaugh growing more handsome and distinguished as the years go by.)

Operation Chaos is designed to encourage Republicans to cross party lines and vote for Hillary in the remaining Democrat primaries. Rush reasons correctly that the GOP isn't going to attack the Democrats, or at least not very effectively. So Republicans best hope is to create momentum for Hillary to keep attacking Obama, and Obama to attack back.

There is evidence that this strategery is working.

The (H)illarity of this move keeps me in stitches every day. I love the reaction from the Liberal political insiders (denouncing Rush) to the worried GOP grass-roots (chastising Rush.)

Besides being a radio genius, Rush always knows how to yank the chain of the Left, who spend every waking moment trying to put him in jeopardy with the establishment, and trying to turn his audience against him.

    NOT.GOING.TO.HAPPEN.

So, for the wishful Obama supporters, here's my advice. Give up on legal prosecution of free speech rights. And go back to your fainting, idolizing, and personality cult worship.

Rush ain't going nowhere -- except UP in the ratings.

Astoundingly good news to report today via Michelle Malkin's website. Marine Cpl. Lance Tatum, who has seen his good name smeared, spending time behind bars (in solitary) for his alleged role in the Haditha so-called massacre, has been exonerated.

And now we hear that armchair General Jack Murtha, former Marine, who pronounced these proud young men guilty before they were even tried, is oddly silent. No comment anywhere on the web.

This Monday, we are going to the office of US Attorney Joseph Russoniello (First District of Northern California) to demand immediate action. It is our fervent hope that other government entities will  take action in jurisdictions where assaults, battering, slapping, and other civil rights infringements have taken place.  Here’s our press release.

     Link now available at www.moveamericaforward.com

Pro-Troop Group Demands of US Attorney:

    “Investigate Anti-American Activities in Berkeley

City Accused of Encouraging Interference with Federal Officers

SAN FRANCISCO---A law firm representing a pro-troop organization has sent a letter to the U.S. Attorney in San Francisco asking the federal government to investigate whether the Berkeley City Council’s official anti-Marine position and encouragement of anti-war groups to “impede” the work of Marine recruiters constitutes a breach of law.  If the City Council violated the law, the letter asks the U.S. Attorney to prosecute the perpetrators.

The letter was drafted by the attorney for pro-troop organization Move America Forward (website: www.MoveAmericaForward.org), which is the nation’s largest pro-troop grassroots nonprofit.

The correspondence also voices concerns that the Berkeley Police were unresponsive and negligent to public safety during a protest the group organized in Berkeley on Feb. 12, 2007.

The original copy has already been mailed and an additional copy will be hand-delivered Monday morning with a press conference immediately following.

“We will explore every avenue to ensure that Marine Corps personnel are not harassed for simply doing their jobs, especially not by a city government,” said Catherine Moy, Executive Director of Move America Forward.

Move America Forward has been active in organizing demonstrations as well as several ad campaigns rebuking the Berkeley City Council since they called Marine Recruiters “uninvited and unwelcome intruders” at a Jan. 29 council meeting. The council also reserved a publicly funded parking space and gave free sound permits to a radical anti-war group protesting the office.

“That is a blatant misuse of tax dollars and a violation of civil rights” said Moy, referring to the privileges granted to Code Pink, the antiwar group that received special treatment from the council.

“We have been fighting them all the way and this is simply the next step,” said Melanie Morgan, Move America Forward’s co-founder.

Morgan is also demanding that Berkeley’s  mayor give a full and official apology to all military personnel, veterans, and their families, and rescind the resolutions giving special treatment to Code Pink.

Berkeley has got to realize that we’re not going away,” Morgan concluded.

  • Winter Soldiers II: We Can't PROMISE to Tell the Truth

Back in 1971, John Kerry and his co-conspirators at Vietnam Veterans Against War, with help form the North Vietnamese no less, coordinated the original Winter Soldier, maligning our nation's military as nothing more than mindless "Baby Killers!"

Two weeks ago, Iraq Veterans Against War undertook a similar effort, thanks to the mentorship of Vietnam Veterans Against War and the assistance of various Islamic groups.

Gathering outside of DC to reflect upon the fifth anniversary of the United States' invasion of Iraq, this generation's Winter Soldiers shared their stories.

Click on the link below to hear what today's Winter Soldiers had to say when asked if they'd be willing to re-tell their stories under oath.

  • Follow the Money: Towards Treason

And now for our trip in today's Way Back Time Machine.

    Let's visit Iraq, shall we?

That's where three United States Congressmen traveled in 2002, in the days before the Bush administration launched a war to depose Saddam Hussein, sparking a huge controversy.

Following Ben Bradlee's excellent advice to Woodward and Bernstein during the Watergate era to 'follow the money', the Associated Press has learned that Saddam Hussein's secret agents financed the trip towards treason.

"An indictment unsealed in Detroit accuses Muthanna Al-Hanooti, a member of a Michigan nonprofit group, of arranging for three members of Congress to travel to Iraq in October 2002 at the behest of Saddam's regime. Prosecutors say Iraqi intelligence officials paid for the trip through an intermediary. At the time, the Bush administration was trying to persuade Congress to authorize military action against Iraq."

One of those Congressmen is  Mike Thompson who represents the First District of California, which spans the famous wine country of Napa and Sonoma counties.

My question for Thompson, David Bonior and Jim McDermott is this:

Who the hell did you think was financing your trip?

Or didn't you think it was important enough to find out who wrote the check for your 'fact-finding' mission?

It ended, predictably, in a denunciation of President Bush and his efforts to depose a murderous despot who raped, torturted and imprisoned hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's.

Thompson is a disgusting person, who has lied about me in the past decade in a political debate over stupid liberal policies (but...but...but.. they care so much about the little people.

As a state Assemblyman, Thompson was highly involved in efforts by the California Air Resources Board and the legislature to force a poison chemical (MTBE) in our gasoline, which ultimately led to the destruction of hundreds, if not thousands of water supplies in our Golden State. (Thanks to KSFO listeners, MTBE was banned in California in 2002.)

When we called out Thompson's role in this environmental diaster, the hot-headed Congressman publicly accused my former co-host Lee Rodgers and me of 'instigating violence' against him.

He was referring to a drunk guy who showed up as his mother's house and passed out.

    Police reports dismissed the incident.

So count me among those who aren't crying for Thompson's troubles.

Or Bonior, or Baghdad Jim McDermott.

But my personal experience is that Mike Thompson is a despicable politican, with no more character than Tricky Dick.

In fact, he's making Nixonian tactics look positively mischievous in comparison.

  • Fox News Reports on Attacks on Military Recruiting Centers

I'm watching Senator McCain on Fox News delivering a strong, powerful speech in defense of staying the course in Iraq until stabilization is complete.

"I hate war. But I hate what happens when war is not finished."

The rest of the speech ..not so crazy about. Especially all the Global Warming baloney. It sounds to my ears like he's running a general election campaign now.

Also, I wish Senator McCain would speak about the war on pro-troop forces across the country, the brave people who are supporting his policies and our military.

But from the Fox News website today, fresh reporting on our efforts to shine daylight on the anarchy crowd when we published Move America Forward's 'Sedition Report.'

More from Fox on newly released Rasmussen Polling..

Results from today's tracking poll show that Senator McCain would beat Barrack Obama 51% to 41% if the election were held today.

And he would win 50% to 30% over Hillary.

Of course, the election isn't being held today, but it's encouraging news.

  • VIDEO UPDATE: Female Blogger Attacked by Peace Thugs

    Peace Thugs.

There is no other way to describe the people who terrorize Churches in Chicago, who splatter blood, human feces, and fire paint bombs loaded with glass at pro-troop supporters across the country.

These incidents are well-documented in Move America Forward's 'Sedition Report' on-line at www.moveamericaforward.com

The violence hit closer to home in Berkeley, Ca. where our pro-troopers were shoved, pushed and battered with peace signs by anarchist groups like Funk The War, The World Can’t Wait, Global Exchange, and International A.N.S.W.E.R. two months ago. (More on that story later.)

Over the weekend, I broke the story in West Chester, Pa. about a young female blogger who was assaulted while doing her job documenting both the pro-troop and anti-war dueling rallies.

‘Skye’ at Midnight Blue was slapped twice by a member of the anti-war movement, a peace terrorist, while video-taping an exchange between both sides.

The (alleged) Peace Slapper has been identified as John Meicht , a college professor who taught a course at Widener University last spring.

FreeRepublic.com has details and comments here.

Skye was terribly traumatized by the incident, and did not release the video right away.

    It's out there now.

    And it's shocking.

A grown man slapping a woman.

Is this how they want to bring 'peace' to the world, by hitting females until they agree with them?

    UPDATE:

Vets penalize Berkeley for anti-military stance

Vets in pro-Marine rally say they spent at least $25,000 elsewhere to punish city
    By Kristin Bender, STAFF WRITER

BERKELEY — More than 400 motorcyclists didn't want to spend a dime in Berkeley on Saturday, and they would have succeeded, if not for the pizza.

Organizers of a pro-military rally at the U.S. Marine center downtown said they purposely spent $25,000 to $30,000 in neighboring cities to penalize Berkeley financially for its recent anti-military stance.

"If Berkeley does not want the military in town, then veterans should not be spending any money there," said rally organizer Doug Lyvere, a retired Marine sergeant major and the West Region coordinator of Eagles Up, a pro-military group.

Lyvere said he figures the 450 bikers pumped more than 2,000 gallons of gas, spending about $7,600 outside the city. He said about 800 people spent about $20 each for breakfast, lunch, beverages and other supplies outside Berkeley, which the group dubbed the Veterans No Spend Zone, for a total of about $16,000.

About 60 to 75 people paid for motel and hotel rooms outside Berkeley for a total of $7,740 to $9,675, he said.

  • "Peace Activist" Slaps Female Blogger Twice--Encourage Others to Violence

Many times I have been threatened with violence, as well as our staff at Move America Forward.

We simply shrug off the danger, and continue with our work to support our troops.

'Skye' at MidnightBlue.com wasn't so lucky yesterday in Philadelphia, Pa.

She was slapped TWICE by a so-called 'peace activist.'

Spree at Digital Journal has the complete story, and yes, the brazenness of the 'peace' thugs grows even more shocking in Chicago.

    Melanie,

I am saddened to report this:

Saturday around 12:10 PM, a member of the Chester County Peace Movement (CCPM) slapped a woman twice ( that would be me) who was videotaping an exchange between the two opposing groups. Police were called and an officer arrived at 12:15 PM and announced to the crowd that he was conducting an investigation.

The CCPM member was pointed out to police and the officer told the man to come forward and the man refused. The guy was totally uncooperative, belligerent and would not go with the officer. When he shoved the officer, the officer's partner took him to the ground to be handcuffed. The guy continued to resist while on the ground and the peace movement folks surrounded the officers, some as close as a foot or so away.

Photos at the bottom of http://picasaweb.google.com/rgc1946/WestChesterMarch222008 show this quite clearly.

I've prided myself in my professional conduct at this rally and to be struck twice by a 'peace' protester who has been present since the time I began covering this rally is truly disturbing.

    Sincerely,
    Skye

Move America Forward is going to press forward with a demand to the United States Marshall Service, Homeland Security, and the U.S. Justice Department to start ARRESTING AND PROSECUTING THESE PEOPLE!

  • Rolling Into Town on the Back of Fred's Hog

    I admit it.

    I lied.

    A big, fat whopper.

And I am NOT the least bit sorry about it.

I said in the media and in e-mail last Wednesday that our pro-troop side decided to stand down against the moonbats on the street during the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq, and at Shattuck Square in Berkeley, Calif. where our Marine Recruiters are doing excellent work in spite of the near constant harassment.

I told a fib, based upon my knowledge of the Great Chinese Warrior Sun Tzu.

"All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near."

I didn't want to tip our hand until it was too late for the crazies to get up out of bed, put away their crack pipes and stumble over for a counter-protest against EaglesUp, Patriot Guard Riders, the Lafayette Flag Brigade, Blue Star Mothers and motorcyle clubs from all across the western United States.

Move America Forward and the pro-troops groups wanted to deliver a positive message of strength and love for our military without significant interference from the anti-American, anti-troop crowd.

(My favorite photo of the day, brave warriors from previous wars.)

(Babs and Jim Alexander of Lafayette, Calif., ride into Berkeley) Chronicle photo by Michael Macor

     Our strategy worked.

Only a few rabid pink weasel stoners showed up, and we owned the street with our pride and patriotism, waving flags, singing patriotic songs, cheering for the Marines as well as all military men and women, their families and our country.

Doug Lyvere of EaglesUp mustered over 600 bikers (updated) on Harley's, Ducatis, and every bike in between. Guys and gals drove in from Modesto, Turlock, Arizona, Wyoming, San Mateo, San Jose, Santa Clara, Contra Costa and supporters flew in from San Diego and L.A.

In all, there were close to 800 people there, and it surprised the hell out of the media.

Move America Forward sent out press releases just two days before the event to the ink-stained wretches, TV types, as well as radio reporters .

KTVU Channel 2 reports (fair report, except numbers drastically undercounted.)

    BashMan at PatDollard.com blogged here.

We made news in London at the Daily Telegraph!

We started the morning in Emeryville, California (five miles from Berkeley) where Doug and Tom of EaglesUp organized a staging area (very efficiently) and hundreds of these cool machines and sexy guys in leather gathered.

Retired San Francisco police detective Fred Ponomarenko offered me a helmet and a ride on the back of his machine. The rumbling of the pipes was deafening, but it was music to my ears.

As we rocked out to Lynnard Skynnard, Fred hollered at me that "half the guys are cops,  and the other half crooks.. But all of us all come together under the Red, White and Blue."

    Fred was exaggerating, a bit.

Retired and active duty cops, firefighters, security workers, paramedics, Vietnam Vets and others rolled in.

The most fun I had on the ride over to Shattuck Square was going through the residential neighborhoods of Berkeley. The bike pipes set off car alarms, burglar alarms, and alerted the crackheads, ho's, smelly hippies, and peaceniks that our seriously determined pro-troops Americans were in town to tell them to leave our Marines the hell alone.

Fred delivered me safe and sound at the Marine Recruiting Center. At the staging area, I jumped up on Sweaty Beatty, a beautifully restored 1940's pick-up truck, alongwith Catherine Moy from Move America Forward, Diana Nagy, our fabulously talented singer, Scott Conover and Mike Anderson (Gold Star Fathers) and Diane Layfield (Gold Star Mom) shouted out our support.

(Singer Dana Nagy, right, joins hundreds of supporters of the Marines gathered in front of the Marine Recruiting office in downtown Berkeley.) Chronicle photo by Michael Macor

The most deeply moving moment of the day came when a young man, fresh from Iraq and a close haircut, literally wandered into our gathering. He was stunned.

He had NO IDEA so many people supported him, especially in BERKELEY.

    (An all-American dog came, too.)

I wish I got our soldier's name, but he was a bit embarassed because he was crying. I gave him a hard, long hug and whispered, "Welcome Home, Soldier."

That's when he really broke down.

God Bless our soldiers, and all of you. Never before in American history has there EVER been a counter protest movement to the so-called 'Peace Crowd', a fringe group of people who are screaming like hyenas, calling our troops thugs, baby-rapers and murderers.

    They are NOT.

They are HEROES and I was proud to stand in support of their service and sacrifice.

    Damn, now I am crying.

But I don't want to click off without paying tribute to some special people.

Doug Lyvere of EaglesUp has done an amazing job organizing this event, working days and nights on end to make it happen. Special acknowledgment to Bryan Weldon of the Lafayette Flag Brigade and all his folks, as well as the courageous Patriot Guard Riders who helped. (Please forgive me if I didn't mention your group. So many came and helped. Thank-you!)

    Troop Support Rally

Ok folks, this is the call to arms. It doesn't matter where you live, Northern California, the Western States, east coast, where ever - tell everyone you know, forward this email, call them, whatever - get the word out. It doesn't matter if you ride a bike or drive a cage. This is a call to arms for all veterans, all patriots, and all that truly respect the military.

Please forward this email to every veteran you know, every organization you know, every post you know. Assume you are the only one that has received this email and spread the word. Also, if you have the time, please make up small signs showing date, time, location, and try to get them put up in motorcycle stores, AL Posts, MCL Posts, etc. And forward to whomever has an email list.
This Mission will only work if we have a LARGE turnout.

Due to the garbage in Bezerkeley, we've made a decision to have a Massive show of support for the Marine Recruiters, and Veterans everywhere. Bezerkeley, the City Council, the Mayor, Code Pink and the other moonbats want to step all over veterans, past, present and future. We need to show them we're not going to allow that in Berkeley or anywhere else.
I'm not using the term "demonstration" for two simple reasons - "demonstration" is tied together with "counter demonstration". Neither of those terms come in to play in this instance.

I want a true "Support the Troops" event. Come by motorcycle, car, truck, whatever means you have. Bring an American Flag, and if you have them, Flags of the Armed Forces. If you want to make signs, please limit them to support ie: So and so, or family of, or organization so and so supports the troops. And one other - VNSZ (Veteran's No Spend Zone) Lots of those.

On March 22, 9:00AM, we will all meet and/or stage at the Watergate Market, 2390 Powell St, Emeryville.

    http://tinyurl.com/3apwej

The rally point was picked in that it has food and fuel readily available. When getting off the freeway, there is a Chevron Station on one side of the freeway, and a Shell on the other (the direction you'll be heading). There is a Denny's where you get off and the Watergate Market has sandwiches (I believe). Across from the Market is the Emeryville Police Dept. There is parking along the street to the left of the EPD. You will directed to parking when you arrive. Currently, there will not be a "formal" check in, but see me when you get there. I'm not hard to find.

When you eat or fuel in this location or any location outside of Berkeley, please keep the receipts - if we have a big enough group, I will collect those receipts and deliver them to the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce on Monday the 24th. Hopefully with the assistance of the news media.

We will depart at 10 for Berkeley. The Emeryville police will assist us in getting on the freeway. ( If you are driving directly to the city - not driving in with the "convoy", please meet at the recruiting office.) There will be 3 approach routes to Berkeley that will be announced at that morning.
All approach routes will lead to the US Marine Officer Selection Office at 64 Shattuck Square - it's a one way street and therefore will be on your left side. After driving past the recruiting office, please park your vehicles carefully as I'm quite sure the parking police will be around. I would park one vehicle (includes motorcycles) per parking place as long as you don't mind the paring fees - also - I've been warned about feeding the meters.
Move your wheels periodically so as not to get cited or towed. Coordinate with each other on shifting vehicles. If you park in lot that is restricted to customers, then buy a cup of coffee or a coke, or whatever. I can make a drink last a LONG time.

While wandering around like any other tourist, if you talk to shop owners, please remember, we're not there to get in THEIR faces, but to make a point to the City Council. If our presence, our taking parking places, our not spending money has a negative impact on the individual business owners, they will need to go to make a decision on who to recall and who to vote for.

If the individuals don't like the war, don't like the administration, don't like the military, GTG, but what the City Council has done is baloney! Besides, if they don't like the military, then why would they want our money.

I'm asking Melanie Morgan and MAF to start speaking at 12 in front of the Recruiting Office. Other speakers are welcome. I'm asking Capt Lund and some of his staff to be there, in uniform of course.

Purpose of this Mission is to show support for the troops in general, all veterans, and for the Marine Recruiting Office. It is not for physical confrontation - that needs to be avoided. We need to set the example - Code Pink, ANSWER and the other moonbats would love to see us get slammed in the media and they will try to do that.

On Feb 12 there were a couple of people attending who apparently were there just to cause trouble. Please be careful. I am by no means saying "turn the other cheek". I'm just asking that you are careful with any response - let them take the fall.

If you need places to camp or stay - please remember to get a place outside of Berkeley.

I need some volunteers - one or two to handle billeting for those that need it arriving Friday nite and/or staying Saturday nite. I need a couple of riders - 4 to 8 - to help get people to Shattuck Square and then to help with getting people pointed to parking areas. I'm also asking a local CB/HAM/motorcycle club to help with any communications necessary. If your scoot is equipped with comm gear, please ID yourself at check in (IF you want to be put to work). And I need couple of people to help coordinate at the staging area.

Currently we know that Trader Vic's is offering us a banquet room that evening for a buffet dinner. They are also giving us 15% off coupons. We will work on some more like minded stuff.

Response - if you are coming, please respond with just numbers - I only need names if you are available to help (you pick the category). And I need to know numbers for Trader Vic's - they have 2 different room sizes and need to put one aside for us. Normally I respond to every email. HOWEVER, because of the anticipated volume of response, I will only respond on offers to help or to questions.

For many of the protest groups recently active on and around campus, it's time to see the writing on the wall. The chances for these demonstrations to succeed are slim, to say the least. The UC regents will not budge on the BP deal. The new athletic center will be built. And the Marines are not retreating from Berkeley.

In response to the Marine protest, Move America Forward, a conservative activist group, ran television ads lambasting Berkeley by name. Is this what Mayor Bates and Code Pink wanted? Probably not, but their stubbornness have cast shame upon themselves and, by extension, our city and university.

    HOT TALK
    Happy Liberation Day, Iraq
Exclusive: Melanie Morgan pounds 'peace' protesters whose violence knows no end

    Posted: March 21, 2008
    1:00 am Eastern

    By Melanie Morgan

I headed to Berkeley first thing Wednesday morning. Thousands of anti-war agitators promised to shut down cities on this anniversary of America's campaign to liberate Iraq and fight radical Muslims who want to cut our throats here at home.

I was pleased to see a strong presence of Berkeley police standing in front of the Marine recruiting center that "peace" activists have attacked at the urging of the Berkeley City Council. I would have been happier if U.S. Marshals were also there – and around the country at all recruiting centers that faced violence on Wednesday.

Groups such as Code Pink, the Worlds Can't Wait, Funk the War and other anarchist groups have unleashed violence and vandalism on recruiting centers across the country since just before American troops volunteered to free Iraq five years ago. My group, Move America Forward, last week released the "Sedition Report" outlining these attacks, which include gunfire pumped into recruiters' offices, human blood and feces tossed at them and bombs, fire and Molotov cocktails trained on the federal offices.

The violence doesn't surprise me. I've seen it firsthand, as I've stood against these rabid weasels in pink dresses and orange jumpsuits. The very first protesters to show up in Berkeley Wednesday morning went right to work defying the police. They then dumped a truckload of garbage on the streets in front of the Marine recruiting center. These clever clowns careened around the corner with a truck and a life-size "jail" chained to the back, stopping at the center. President Bush's face and the presidential seal were painted on the back, wearing jailhouse stripes.

Later in the day, a friend called me from Washington, D.C., where he and other patriots faced crazed "peace" protesters who threw bottles loaded with paint and glass chips. Some of the leftist loons chained themselves together, carried hateful signs such as this ditty: "Bush is the only dope worth shooting."

If this is what peace looks like, then we are all better without it. My nirvana does not include cross-dressing punks in pink carrying threats against the president of the United States. I've been in Iraq's battle zone, and I felt safer there than on the streets of Berkeley when the "peace" crowd is doing its thing.

Exposing the lies and radical behavior of the anti-war groups became my mission when they began terrorizing the true peace-loving people in America. I have seen it all. They hate this country, not just President Bush. They love Communist leaders, dictators or anarchy, not democracy. They coddle killers like Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, while jeering American presidents.

Their useful idiots in the House and Senate do their bidding. Rep. Jack Murtha, their hero, called Marines murderers before these Americans even face a jury. Sen. Harry Reid infamously said America had lost the war in Iraq.

Americans are catching on to these politicians' seditious behavior. Sens. Clinton and Obama are dropping in the polls against Sen. John McCain, a true American hero. A poll from the left-leaning Pew organization shows that most Americans now believe we are winning in Iraq.

That's probably why the protests flopped and turned into violent clashes rather than swarms of misguided, smelly hippies.

"Yet, despite the often creative costumes and messages, the protests were a far cry from the large and dramatic protests that marked the buildup to the war as well as the conflict's early months. Tens of thousands came to San Francisco in those days, making it an epicenter of the anti-war movement," according to the left-leaning San Francisco Chronicle in a rare moment of honest reporting.

Instead of condemning the violence against recruiters and peaceful patriots, the Democrats' top contenders, Clinton and Obama, joined in the radicals' cries to get out of Iraq.

"I will end this war," Obama said of one of his first acts if elected president. "It is the right thing to do." Clinton said the country "needs a commander in chief who will end the war in Iraq and bring (the troops) home."

And they call themselves leaders? Their policies would reopen the rape rooms of Iraq and lead to slaughter of thousands upon thousands of Iraqi people who now see hope for the first time since Saddam Hussein ruled with an iron fist. A premature withdrawal would significantly jeopardize American security as well.

After their tragic displays of hate and juvenile antics on Wednesday, many peaceniks bemoaned the fact that they didn't get the crowds of the past.

"I was hoping people would fill the streets, that it would be more mainstream. It's more of a fringe crowd," said Jan McCulloch, a Daly City nutrition teacher, according to the Contra Costa Times.

"It's resignation, apathy," said her friend, Deanna Bliss of San Francisco.

The lesson of March 19 is that the "peace" movement is desperate and so are its sad-sack leaders, Clinton and Obama. The lefties are resorting to violence where they once had thousands of dopes to follow their white-flag brigade.

Jeremiah Wright was White House guest

The recent coverage of Rev. Jeremiah Wright has often cast him as a marginal, almost fringe figure, but Trinity Church is a major Chicago institution, and Wright has long been a prominent pastor on the American scene.

And an anonymous blog set up to defend his church offers some compelling photographic evidence of this: A photograph of Wright and President Clinton, which it says was taken on September 11, 1998 -- the date of a White House gathering for religious leaders.

[UPDATE: The blog seems to have taken that item down; here's the full image that was posted.]

Hillary Clinton, according to her recently-released schedule for the day, was present at the gathering. Al Gore also appears in the picture.

"In the course of his two terms in office, Bill Clinton met with, corresponded with and took pictures with literally tens of thousands of people," Clinton spokesman Jay Carson told Politico.

That's where Clinton reportedly told the assembled clerics, at the depth of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, that he had "repented."

As CNN reported at the time:

"I have been on quite a journey these last few weeks to get to the end of this, to the rock-bottom truth of where I am," Clinton said in his most emotional and dramatic statement since the affair with Lewinsky became public. "I don't think there is a fancy way to say that I have sinned."

Agreeing with his critics that he was not "contrite" enough during his initial Aug. 17 statement, Clinton said, "It is important to me that everybody who has been hurt know that the sorrow I feel is genuine. First and most important, my family, my friends, my staff, my cabinet, Monica Lewinsky and her family and the American people. I have asked all for their forgiveness."

His comments were the first time the president has publicly apologized to Lewinsky. Clinton went on to describe the journey he has been on during the weeks since his first public admission, saying that he has finally repented.

"I have repented," Clinton said. "I must have God's help to be the person that I want to be. A willingness to give the very forgiveness I seek. A renunciation of the pride and the anger, which cloud judgment, lead people to excuse and compare and to blame and complain."

UPDATE: The New York Times later this evening posted the same photograph, and said it had been provided by the Obama campaign. And here's a screenshot of the photo on the anonymous blog, before it was removed. Curious things, these anonymous blogs.

  • Our Troops, Our Heroes

The noise has died down, the marijuana smoke has cleared, and the smelly hippies have crawled back into their lairs after a mostly unproductive day of national protest against the Iraq war.

But here is an eloquent reminder of why we continue to support the men and women of the military, and their mission in Iraq.

I began my morning with my normal routine of making a pot of coffee and turning on FOX news to see the days issues. This morning President Bush was addressing this nation and remembering the sacrifices and the successes that this nation has experienced for the past five years since the War on Terror began in Iraq.

I remember that day well and knew this would be a very personal war to me. My oldest son Kristofer was one of “The few, the proud, the Marines.” My son-in-law Christopher was an Officer serving in the Army and was already on his way to Iraq, my youngest son Marc was in BUDS training to become a Navy SEAL, my brother Jim was in the Air Force Reserves and I had cousin who was an Officer in the Marines. I had no idea at that point how personal and emotional this war would be.

Clifford D. May: Beating Saddam, battling defeatists

    March 19, 2008

Five years ago this month, American troops liberated Iraq from Saddam Hussein. Then came the hard part.

American intelligence had been wrong about Saddam's stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction: They were nowhere to be found. Most academic experts had failed to perceive the currents of religious extremism and sectarianism running just beneath Iraq's secular surface. State Department consultants and U.N. advisers proved unequal to the task of building democratic political institutions quickly from scratch.

The media had understated Saddam's barbarism: It had been too risky to report in depth on the mass graves he filled with dissidents; the Kurds gassed to death in their villages; the camps where he trained terrorists for assignments abroad. As a consequence, few anticipated how severely Iraqis had been traumatized.

And America's military, so adept at bringing down a dictator, was unprepared for the "small war" that would follow: terrorist attacks on innocent Iraqis that the "international community" would blame not on the perpetrators -- but on America.

  • Despite Best Efforts, Tech Friendly Lefty's, Big Protests a Bust

Text messaging instructions to willing media enablers was part of the strategy for yesterday's anti-war protests marking the fifth anniversary since Liberation for the Iraqi's.

Handing out blue media advisories, and a deliberate strategy to refrain from pissing off motorists around San Francisco was also part of the scheme.

But despite the Left-wing determination to undermine support for our troops, the war, and peace in the middle east ---yesterday was a BUST for the Bay Area radicals.

This morning's San Francisco Chronicle sums it up.

"Yet, despite the often creative costumes and messages, the protests were a far cry from the large and dramatic protests that marked the buildup to the war as well as the conflict's early months. Tens of thousands came to San Francisco in those days, making it an epicenter of the anti-war movement. Roughly 2,150 protesters were arrested during the first three days of the war, Mar. 19-21, 2003. The city's hotels were crammed, and mobs tried to shut down the Bay Bridge.

Wednesday's biggest demonstration in the city occurred in the evening. Answer coalition organizer Richard Becker estimated the crowd of participants at 7,000.

Some yearned to renew the hope of those early days, emboldened in part by an upcoming presidential election that does not include the candidacy of George W. Bush."

The spring of hot protest against the 'unjust, immoral, illegal war' turned out to be a bust. Too bad for the smelly hippy crowd.

    Bummer Dude.

I guess that these dopes are beginnng to figure out 2008 isn't 1968.

    Iraq is NOT Vietnam.

  • The Left's Day of Reckoning

The militant anti-war seditionists swarmed the streets of San Francisco and Berkeley, Ca. today with the intention of disrupting traffic, commerce and left behind a trail of environmental filth in their wake.

Bay Area Newsgroup has video from Berkeley's Marine Recruiting Center, where (sigh) Cindy Sheehan showed up.

In Washington, D.C. District police cleared the way TWICE to allow anti-war demonstrators back in front of the military recruiting center on L Street, and that emboldened the terrorist tactics of the left to escalate.

Kristinn Taylor from FreeRepublic.com just notified me that the anarchists in D.C. were throwing glass-filled paint bombs at pro-troops supporters.

UPDATE: Kristinn reports that no one on the pro-troop side was injured. Thank God. But he's LIVID over the D.C. police response.

Check out D.C. milblogger John Lilyea, who recorded his day chasing the moonbats.

Back in the Bay Area, over 140 arrests as the international A.N.S.W.E.R., The World Can't Wait, Funk The World and Global Exchange practiced the dark arts of anarchy in the financial district of San Francisco. And the main event is yet to come later tonight.

ABCNews7 interviewed me about why Pro-Troopers aren't in the streets doing battle with the crazies.

(Simple answer --we don't want to be associated with the loons. We have a positive message coming up with www.EaglesUP.us on Saturday.)

Bay Area Protests, Arrests Mark 5 Years Of War

My group, Move America Forward, left the streets to the crazy people, doing media rather than counter-protesting. We don't want to be associated with the law-breaking that is taking place in the name of 'peace.'

    Here's our press release.

PRO TROOPS GROUP CELEBRATES FIVE YEARS OF SECURITY

Antiwar groups respond with aggressive protests

March 19, 2008 marks the fifth anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq, in which thousands of Americans who volunteered to serve put their lives on the line to liberate millions of Iraqis and protect the national security interests of the United States, which was attacked by radical Islamic terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001.

The nation’s largest pro-troop organization, Move America Forward (website: www.MoveAmericaForward.org) commends these brave warriors for their service to our country.

“We’re proud of every man and woman who has served honorably in this struggle against America’s maniacal enemies and we’ll never forget how much we owe them,” said Melanie Morgan, MAF’s chairman.

Debbie Lee, a MAF spokesman whose son was the first Navy SEAL to die in Operation Iraqi Freedom, said, “My son so believed in what he and his buddies were doing over there.  I know he’s proud of everyone carrying on that fight today.  I, too, am so proud of our men and women who continue to stand for our country.”

Meanwhile, antiwar radicals are using the occasion to promote their agenda of retreat and defeat in America’s battles against terrorism.  Many such groups are overtly  attempting to disrupt people’s business and cause havoc ,  at a time when antiwar protests have been growing palpably more bitter and violent.

Violence against recruiting centers has become a widespread and dangerous phenomenon, now quickly gaining momentum, as revealed in “The Sedition Report,” a document presented by Move America Forward at the National Press Club last week.

“We most sincerely hope that no one is hurt and no property is damaged in today’s protests, but we’d be pretty surprised,” Morgan said. “I personally saw an anarchist from the ‘World Can’t Wait’ defy a Berkeley police officer while others from the group dumped a load of garbage in the streets.”

More than a dozen arrests had been made in the San Francisco Bay Area already as of this writing.

Anti-war organizations are claiming today that support for the war in Iraq is plummeting.

The opposite is true, according to the left-leaning Pew Poll , which reports that 53 percent of Americans believe we are winning  in Iraq, due to the  change in tactics from the surge, commanded by General David Petraeus.

Move America Forward is hosting no events today, in hopes of minimizing the disruptiveness of the day’s demonstrations, but will participate in an event this Saturday in front of Berkeley, CA’s Marine office, which has been at the center of a political storm.  That event is being organized by Eagles Up, another pro-troop organization. (www.eaglesup.us )

“It hurts my heart so deeply when I see groups like SDS and World Can’t Wait fighting against this war when our troops are the ones fighting for our freedom,” said Lee.

  • Same Song, Different Dance

Wednesday March 19th marks the 5th anniversary of liberation for the Iraqi people. Precious blood has been spilled to build a (mostly) democratic nation once ruled by a despotic madman who murdered hundreds of thousands of his own people, running rape rooms and torturing those who committed no offense against his regime.

Now, Saddam Hussein is residing in the hottest corner of Hell, and the United States Military has hunted down and killed thousands of Islamic terrorists who threaten our security, and that of the region.

We have established a beach-head against the fanatics, and made the area safer for that country, and re-ordered the balance of power in the Middle East.

And for all that, Iraqi's are grateful. So am I.

53 percent of the American people believe now that we are winning the Iraq war, according to the left-leaning Pew polling.

“A development that promises to reshape the political landscape.”

But not the activist/anarchist crowd in this country who can spew only mindless platitudes like "Bush Lied."

They are actively engaging in a campaign to undermine support for this war, and the warriors who fight it.

Tomorrow I will be in Berkeley, Calif. to stand with others from our Move America Forward staff and supporters as the assault begins again on the recruiting station there.

There is only one word for this type of behavior --SEDITION.

From today's WaPo the sedition crowd crowed over their plans to disrupt, assault, and make life miserable for ordinary people.

"We believe it will be an unprecedented day of action," said Lisa Fithian of the 5 Years Too Many coalition. "There will be people coming from almost 40 states to bring their message to those . . . that are promoting . . . and profiting from war.

"On one day, the anniversary of the war, we will intervene in their business," she said.

...Fithian invited the public to participate.

At the same time, she apologized. "We want to say to the people of Washington, D.C., those people who may be inconvenienced by our activities . . . we want to now extend our apology to you," she said. "Our intention is not to disrupt your day. But we ask that you keep things in context."

Get that? Fithian plans to make life a living hell in the District of Columbia, but she and her cretin friends are apologizing in advance.

    Not. Gonna. Work.

Tomorrow in Berkeley, I anticipate the same kind of lawlessness. There will only be a few of us, perhaps the Patriot Guard Riders will join in, but we WON'T STAND DOWN.

People all across this wonderful country are rising up to say to the left-wing moonbats --ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

I'll be in front of the Berkeley Marine Recruiting Center on Shattuck Avenue with Catherine Moy, and Ryan Gill at 6:00 a.m.

You will know us by our sweatshirts that read "Our Troops, Our Heroes."

  • Sex Scandals for Democrats--Deja Vu, All Over Again

    First Elliot Spitzer.

And now, hours after being sworn in, Governor David Paterson admits he cheated on his wife.

And she admits to cheating on him!

    Sheesh.

What's in the water in New York?

And in New Jersey. (Warning, another Democrat disgusting sex scandal. Hold your nose while reading.)

This is horrible for Democrats. Awful. Really, really bad.

     Why?

Because it reminds everyone that Senator Clinton's bed-hopping hubby might be back in the White House, chasing down chubby chicks (and skinny ones, too) while Madame President is sending her minions around looking for him.

    Not. A. Pleasant. Thought.

And Barrack Hussein Obama has his own problems --though not sexual--with the race card that he is playing to his benefit, and now to his redound.

Haunted by association … Barack Obama, left, with the controversial pastor Jeremiah Wright in 2005.

Let's see if these 'unfortunate circumstances' for the Democratic party conspire to help elect a Republican in November.

One thing is for sure. It doesn't help.

  • Flop Sweat From the Left: Winter Soldier II

UPDATE: The Code Stinkos in Berkeley continue Marine Recruiting Harrassment

UPDATE: The cool crowd pushed back against threats to shut-down Tacoma Washington mall --defending Marine Recruiters!

The incoherent ramblings of some disaffected soldiers over the weekend in Washington, D.C. was a complete bust.

Winter Soldier II wasn't even good street theater.

But the bad actors tried their damndest to slander our troops.

    After-action reports here and here.

While Iraq Veterans Against the War were making our troops look like murderers, baby-rapers and thugs, the patriots took to the streets to celebrate our troops, our heroes.

We 'owned' Constitution Avenue in D.C. with our flag-waving crowd. The Eagles flew (really walked) in a five-mile long patriotic parade on Saturday. YankeeMom has a super report, and some great pictures, too here.

Meanwhile, the 'Peace' crowd has a hissy fit over "The Sedition Report" produced by Move America Forward. Jeff Gannon has details here.

Susan Duclos has a very compelling piece from Digital Media here.

    Further pick-ups.

  • Mainstream Media Shocked by Obama's Choice of Church?

Well, nobody should be surprised. I posted this story right here in February of '07. Maybe Hillary's oppo research folks snagged it from my website and held it for just the right 'kitchen sink' moment.

    Obama Worships at Afrocentric Church

Parishioners “Pledge Allegiance to all Black leadership . . .”

Obama’s progressivism, however, leads him to conclusions that are morally untenable, if not reprehensible, to Evangelicals and other traditionalist Christians.”

    The Rev. Rob Schenck.

“In other words, if we don’t reach out to evangelical Christians and other religious Americans and tell them what we stand for, then the Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons and Alan Keyeses will continue to hold sway,” Sen. Barack Obama. said.

    By Catherine Moy

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., worships in an “unashamedly Black” church with covenants and a “vision” that include a “disavowal of the pursuit of “middleclassness” and a pledge of allegiance to “all black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System.”

The Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago has a “congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA,” according to its Web site.

“We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization,” the Trinity United Church of Christ Web site says.

  • Reporting From Inside the Fox News Green Room

    Hells Bells.

If Howard Fineman of Newsweek and MSNBC's favorite Mainstream Media go-to guy can do his best reporting from the Green room (the holding area where guests get make-up and hair done) -- so can I.

I was invited on Hannity and Colmes on Friday night to talk about THE SEDITION REPORT  released by Move America Forward earlier in the day at a national press conference in Washington, D.C.

That was before the moonbats took to the streets spreading lies about our soldiers during the Iraq Veterans Against the War propaganda-fest.

Of course, those half-baked contentions were  soundly refuted.

I found out late that evening that the entire show was going to be Obama, Obama, Obama and his connection to the Trinity Church in Chicago and the hate-filled rantings of it's retiring pastor Jeremiah Wright.

As I was waiting to go on-the-air, Major Garrett of Fox News was on stand-by to do further reporting on his excellent interview with BHO in which he simply asked a number of questions like: "Did Reverand Wright marry you? Did Reverand Wright baptize your children? How often did you attend church? Did you donate money to the church?"

After that segment aired, Major Garrett's phone started buzzing. He recieved a call from Obama's campaign, and they were REAMING him over the report. From his end, I heard Garrett say "I have nothing to apologize for."

He repeated that several times, and he amplified by saying that he was merely asking questions that everyone wanted answers to.

That did NOT satisfy Obama's people, and Garrett flushed a couple of times while responding to the invective thrown his way.

He finally ended the conversation by saying 'I'll see you guys in April after I go home and visit my three children who barely know their father anymore."

I was scheduled for the last segment with Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes. Bob Beckel, a Democrat strategist with whom I have shared a split screen on several previous occasions, appeared just before me.

This time, he was FURIOUS. Madder than I have ever seen him on TV. He was making a point that I didn't really understand about kids who go to Obama's church growing up to become President, and was drilling Sean about that.

    Whatever.

    Here's the interesting part.

After the segment was over, I exchanged seats with Beckel. As he was leaving, he slammed the studio door so hard that it almost broke some expensive audio/video equipment, according to the technican who was threading my microphone.

    He was STEAMED.

Later, I asked him why he was so upset.

He replied ..."because Obama's people didn't vet him and now Hillary's going to win.'

Catch that? A senior Democrat strategist thinks that Obama has lost the campaign over his association with Reverand Jeremiah Wright's militant separatist language that includes statements like "God Damn America."

I pointed out in my segment that my co-author Catherine Moy wrote about Obama's close personal association at this very website about a year and a half ago. Catherine and I were excoriated for making that piece public.

What a difference a year or so makes, plus VIDEO of those hateful rantings.

I think Bob Beckel really loves Obama. But just a guess on my part. An educated guess, but a guess.

I know for a fact that Alan Colmes does.

My advice to any pundit going on TV --stay away from Bob Beckel when he gets mad.

    You might get singed.

P.S. Beckel was really quite cordial after he cooled down. He even complimented me on my H&C segment.

And that's my complete report from Inside the Green Room....

Are there consequences for sedition? Oh, excuse me, 'advocating for peace'?

    Yes, dammit.

Are Iraqi Insurgents Emboldened by Antiwar Reporting?

Economists say their study, with caveats, finds some linkages

By Alex Kingsbury, US News & World ReportPosted March 12, 2008 Are insurgents in Iraq emboldened by voices in the news media expressing dissent or calling for troop withdrawals from Iraq?

The short answer, according to a pair of Harvard economists, is yes.In a paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, the authors are quick to point out numerous caveats to their findings, based on data from mid-2003 through late 2007.
  • Eagles Muster - Eagles Up!/GOE Rally and March

Just hours ago, I, along with Melanie Morgan, Cat Moy, Mary Pearson and the rest of the Move America Forward team, attended the Eagles Up!/GOE “Eagles Muster” rally. Move America Forward was honored to assist Eagles Up and Free Republic in organizing today’s events.

Pictured are Melanie Morgan (left) Colonel Harry Riley of EaglesUp, and Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee of Move America Forward.

Walking through the lawn up to the Washington Monument, at the bottom of which everyone was assembled, I felt way more comfortable surrounded by Veterans and military families than I did yesterday when we had those insurgents at our press conference. At the press conference I was literally shaking because I did not know what to expect from the large group of Code Pink activists, and I guess we saw what their intentions were. Well it was clear there would be none of that today!

Our MC for the day, Lawrence Hoffa or “GUNNY” as we call him, introduced Col. Harry Riley who spoke very eloquently about why we are here and what we are doing with this rally here today.

“Eagles Muster” he explained, is the anniversary rally to last years March 17th Rally where it was estimated that several thousand patriots braved sleet, wind and ice to rally on the capitol mall and send a message to the ‘moon bat’ fringe-left: “We’re Coming For You!”

A year later we return to reflect back upon the year’s worth of events and what has happened since March of 2007. Back then, General David Petraeus had only recently fully taken the reigns in prosecuting the Iraq war; the Troop Surge was in its early stages and still had many critics and skeptics on both sides of the fence. Anti war groups were vehemently opposed to this new strategy, saying that more troops in Iraq would only escalate into more violence, and their efforts to rally, march, and protest all over the country to stop The Surge from happening were in full force.

We have seen the situation on the ground change dramatically. In Iraq we have seen incredible success come from the surge. Violence is down drastically all over Baghdad thanks to our troops restoring order and working with Iraqi security forces and Iraqi Army to maintain it. Shiite militias like the Madhi Army have called a truce and pledged to work with Coalition Forces (and many have owned up to that promise) and Sunni terrorist groups, mainly Al Qaeda, have been kicked out of their stronghold neighborhoods of Baghdad, retreating to the far flung outskirts of Iraq where they stand broken, on the brink of utter destruction, hanging on by a finger nail while United States, Coalition, and Iraqi forces are breathing down their necks.

Then we heard from Melanie Morgan who talked about The Sedition Report that we just finished compiling and how it ties in with the Eagles Up! Rally.

  • E-Ticket to D.C., Ready or Not, Here We Come

Forgive me for being redundant on this website (but since it's my own I feel 'entitled' to repeat myself.)

I have thrown my four-ounce tube of toothpaste and small liquid bottles in my suitcase, a couple pair of jeans, a few sweaters and tons of files, documents and visuals I will need for Move America Forward's National Press Conference on Friday at 12:30 pdt in Washington, D.C.

Plus a can of lavender aerosol (my personal favorite) to spray on smelly hippies taking to the streets to undermine support for our troops with the anarchy crowd.

That's because they have figured out they have LOST the PR battle.

The latest polling is from the left-leaning Pew Research Group.

Support for war effort highest since 2006 From politico.com American public support for the military effort in Iraq has reached a highpoint unseen since the summer of 2006, a development that promises to reshape the political landscape.

According to late February polling conducted by The Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, 53 percent of Americans—a slim majority—now believe “the U.S. will ultimately succeed in achieving its goals” in Iraq. That figure is up from 42 percent in September 2007.

The percentage of those who believe the war in Iraq is going “very well” or “fairly well” is also up from 30 percent in February 2007 to 48 percent today.

But our work is FAR from done.

DemocratUnderground, Funk the World, The World Can't Wait, CodePink are other far-left groups funded by George Soros are ON THE MARCH this weekend!

    BUT SO ARE PATRIOTIC AMERICANS.

Move America Forward is joining together with EaglesUP, Gathering of Eagles, Families United and many other pro-troops organizations to splash some truth on a bunch of whacked-out people who lie like they breathe.

WATCH ME LIVE ON HANNITY AND COLMES ON FOX NEWS NETWORK FRIDAY NIGHT.

There is an organized, orchestrated effort going on right now to attack military recruiting centers, and the people who support the troops in city after city.

It is seriously getting weird. I keep saying, and will keep on saying until I'm blue in the face that we need federal authorities to start investigating the terroristic acts taking place in our American Cities.

    UPDATE:

Bryan Weldon at the Lafayette Flag Brigade just e-mailed this urgent ALERT from the San Francisco Bay area...

The wild hyena's from "World Can't Wait", showed up today at our honorable armed forces recruiting offices in Pleasant Hill

They say there coming back on the 19th of March. There were about 25 of them, complete with orange jump suits and bullhorns. They brought 20 ft. of heavy chain, to use to block office doors, that's when we made it perfectly clear that they would be arrested! they decided to leave.

We MUST show them that we will not tolerate this disgusting disgrace of our military!

This a wake up call! If we don't stop this nonsense now, we will become like Berkeley!

A frontal assault is taking place by the underground Left (just like the Sixties) and they are running wild in the streets.

Another reminder of what they are capable of.

Here's a couple of dot connectors for you to consider.

Little Green Footballs Blog: Anti-War Loons Plan To Imprison Recruiters In Pittsburgh

Next week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, anti-war lunatics are planning to storm a military recruiting office and imprison the recruiters in a “movable cage.”

On Wednesday, March 19, POG will be holding a torch-lit march to a modern day castle of abominations—our local military recruiting station. If the station remains open, we intend to evict it and everything inside of it, occupy the location, and transform it into something useful for the community. We’ll also be bringing a movable cage in which to confine military recruiters until they no longer pose a danger to our friends and neighbors.

Hopefully, the MSM will pay attention and cover this story as well.

If they won't Michelle Malkin, the Pulitizer Prize journalist (in-waiting) will.

Meantime, Jason Mattera from Young America Foundation (who is working for Michelle covering the situation on the ground in D.C.) has been trailing Senator John Kerry to confront him about Winter Soldiers II.

    This is GREAT TV.

Anarchists heart the Times Square biker bomber

    By Michelle Malkin  •  March 11, 2008 05:21 AM

Yesterday, I told you about multiple threats against pro-military activists headed to Washington, D.C. this week to counter the anti-war mob and spotlighted the Left’s continuing silence about the escalating war on military recruiters.

Today, I point you to a “solidarity sticker” that was distributed at last week’s national anarchist conference (no joke) in Washington, D.C.:

These people are truly, truly unhinged.

    ***

Preparations continue for the counter-demonstrations I’ve been telling you about. More from Eagles Up about the so-called “Winter Soldier II” hearings:

Washington, D.C., March 4, 2008 – A national coalition of pro-troop and veteran organizations is gathering in the Washington area next week to oppose a planned reenactment of Sen. John Kerry’s infamous “Winter Solider” anti-Vietnam War event that, like its predecessor, will feature “testimony” alleging atrocities committed by American troops this time in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Eagles Up and other organizations are taking aim at Winter Soldier II, patterned after a similar event staged by Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry’s Vietnam Veterans Against the War in 1971. Although most of the “veterans” who “testified” in Kerry’s event a generation ago were later found to be frauds, and their testimony was either disproved or impossible to verify, the damage to the Vietnam generation was long enduring.

Hosted by Iraq Veterans Against the War, the ANSWER coalition, CODE PINK, MOVEON.ORG, and associated organizations this generation’s Winter Soldier reenactment is considered to be on a par with its predecessor, with a twist. In 1971 the media accepted the stories of atrocities literally without question, and Kerry even testified before Congress using graphic images of torture and murder, which he claimed were widespread and American military policy.

But Eagles Up and the other pro-troop organizations including Move America Forward and Rolling Thunder will not allow this attack on our troops to go unchallenged. Vietnam and Iraq war veterans and their supporters are demanding that all who participate in the IVAW event submit to identification verification and that their claims are specific including times, dates, places, units involved, leadership and witnesses.

In addition, anyone claiming to have participated in or witnessed an atrocity without attempting to halt it or report it will be referred to the appropriate civilian and military authorities as participants in or accessories to war crimes. Eagles Up leader, Col. Harry Riley, US Army (ret.) said “We have two objectives: To counter and challenge IVAW Winter Soldier II (WSII) Testimony on March 14 by demanding ‘truth.’”

Col. Riley added, “Our second objective is to participate in a peaceful march in Washington, DC on March 15th that reflects a view of appreciation, uplifting, pride in America, our troops and families. This will be a positive event with flags, banners, patriotic music, fellowship, and oriented for the entire family of patriots.

“Americans are standing up to attacks on our nation and people from those that tend to support the constant drum beat of surrender,” Col. Riley said.

Thousands will put “boots on the ground” in Washington, DC on March 14/15 to challenge one devious aspect of the threat on America – those that would have us surrender to the Islamic butchers and dishonor our warriors,” Col Riley added.

“It’s a sacrifice for many of us to get to DC but it’s also a sacrifice for our families and warriors to offer up their lives. The least we can do is protect their backs.”

UPDATE: As the entire planet knows, Spitzer is gone. Good riddance to hubris rubbish.

UPDATE: From Wonkette.com the pictures of the girls Elliott Spitzer was deciding who to pay $4,500 dollars for each visit.

    (Sorry, folks, just couldn't resist!)

This lady is Candace, a "smoldering Caribbean beauty." We have nothing more to add to that:

This lady is Julia, a "beautiful European American university student" who European American university colleagues find "agreeable":

This lady is Skyler. Apparently, we'll "appreciate her energetic enthusiasm for life and passionate harmony," which means something.

    Here are more prostitute ladies:

Ha ha, Alana and Camila only get three Whore Diamonds, those silly whores.

BREAKING CRUCIAL UPDATE 4:52 EDT: "Maya" gets SIX WHORE DIAMONDS.

I'm breathless with anticipation every time I tune into the news about Elliot Spitzer, Hypocrite-in-Chief.

I am whip-sawed by each development...but I want to link to my pal Mark Williams, who does a daily show in Albany, New York and has every morsel and then some on Spitzer's foibles. Mark has insider stuff!

    It's a GREAT read.

My heart goes out to Silda Wall Spitzer. Doesn't she look miserable --beyond devastated?

Women all across America are asking this question: Why do these jerks force the cheated-upon spouse to get up on National TV and humiliate them publicly? And --WHY DO THESE WOMEN DO IT?

Me, I'm just saying, I would be under the bed-covers for the 50 years. But since this is a 'victim-less' crime, maybe the women of the Left don't feel the same way I do.

    I need an explanation.

    Gloria? Hillary? Anyone? N.O.W?

The dirty dog politicans shouldn't hide behind their wives pantsuits and pearls.

Stand-up by yourself and face the music!!

UPDATE: Nora Ephron, cheated upon ex-wife of Carl Bernstein, weighs in.

The All-So-Snooty NY Times pontificates --note they do not address the actual charges against Spitzer. OH NO! That might be JUDGEMENTAL.

    From Yahoo.com we learn....

But more than a day after the scandal broke, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and other senior Democrats in the delegation had yet to call on Spitzer to quit.

On Wall Street, where Spitzer built his reputation as a crusader against shady practices and overly generous compensation, cheers and laughter erupted Monday from the trading floor when news broke of his potential ruin.

Many in the financial industry had long complained that the man known as "Mr. Clean" and the "Sheriff of Wall Street" was a sanctimonious bully who was just trying to advance his political career. Many Wall Streeters were delighted to see him get his comeuppance.

"The irony and the hypocrisy is almost too good to be true," said Bryn Dolan, a fundraiser who works with many Wall Street employees. "If he had any shame, he would've already resigned."

Meanwhile, back to Wonkette. Who is she? Or should I say, who WAS she?

  • Winter Soldiers II: We Won't Stand for More Lies

The country is swept up in Obama-mania, the candidate who promises immediate withdrawal from Iraq just as we are winning the war.

The anger in the streets is palpable. And in the middle of election madness, the hate-filled rhetoric of the anti-war crowd has gone under the radar of the Mainstream Media.

ALERT: An ugly thing is set to happen in Washington, D.C. this week.

The same people who are bombing Marine Recruiting Centers and assaulting pro-troop supporters in the streets of Berkeley are organizing to spread MORE lies about the men and women who are currently serving in Iraq.

They plan to make a false comparison to what the Vietnam Veterans were accused of, wrongly, 30 years ago. You have heard it for years--baby-rapers, murderers, insane soldiers let loose to strafe innocent civilians.

As recently as a few days ago, Cindy Sheehan, the woman who dishonors her son with lies about his service wrote this:

..Iraq Vets Against the War is holding a “Winter Soldier” event soon, and they will recount stories of how they participated in war crimes or witnessed war crimes, which is not in dispute because the entire invasion and occupation is a war crime. These young people came home alive and many of them will have to deal with their demons forever as my Vietnam veteran friends still do, but we families of soldiers who were killed will also be haunted by things we know and things we will never know or never know for sure. The stories of military neglect, abuse (sexual, physical, mental, emotional) or lies are almost as many as there are troops: living or dead...

The world according to Cindy says that our troops are participating in war crimes and atrocities, just like the Vietnam Veterans did..and the stories of abuse are continuing today.

Cindy, STOP LYING ABOUT OUR TROOPS.

    WE WON'T STAND FOR IT.

This YouTube video explains it all.

    No More.

We are NOT going to stand-by and watch the increasing attacks on our military recruiting offices, our military families, and we will question the patriotism of anyone who silently ignores a growing threat by domestic enemies.

Fortunately, our side has Michelle Malkin.

And groups like Gathering of Eagles and EaglesUp.

    ...and Move America Forward.

Plus our steely determination to win this war against the radicals who are escalating in guerrilla tactics to undermine our national security.

Eagles Muster: A Call to Action for Our Troops!

Colonel Harry Riley of Eagles Up sent us this update on their planned pro-troop activities that take place Friday, March 14th and Saturday, March 15th.  Move America Forward will be joining forces with Eagles Up for these important events.

We will have a live webcast going all day Friday and Saturday at www.EaglesUp.us.

Eagles Up and other organizations/movements are taking aim this month at groups of criminals, malcontents, traitors, seditionists, in the world of ANSWER, CODE PINK, IVAW, MOVEON.ORG, WINTER SOLDIER TESTIMONY, ISLAMIC RADICALS, and other elements with goals of America’s destruction.

Rolling Thunder has invited supporters to participate in patriots March 14/15 events http://www.rtmrwdc.org/upevents.html

    We have two important objectives:

    1.  To counter and challenge IVAW Winter Soldier II (WSII) Testimony on March 14 by demanding “truth”.  The theory of WSII is that our warriors and government policy is involved with or encouraging atrocities and other criminal activity...to prove such allegation, WSII must identify, time, date, place, witnesses, leadership, associated with any criminal activity and do so “under oath” to be considered worthy of investigation.

    2.  Our second objective is to participate in a peaceful march in Washington, DC on March 15th that reflects a view of appreciation, uplifting, pride in America, our troops and families… not degrade, demean or denigrate our beloved nation, warriors and families.  This will be a positive event with flags, banners, patriotic music, fellowship, and oriented for the entire family of patriots. (march route:  http://tamanders.com/eagles/documents/080315DCMarchRoute2.pdf )

Americans are standing up to attacks on our nation and people from those that tend to support the constant drum beat of “surrender”.  But we are a minority and have to beg for citizen support when America is being attacked from within. The majority in America know these attacks are wrong but sit by and offer little to no resistance.  One gets the feeling America has lost it’s gut.......it has no will to survive...has given up...has no spirit.......  Why should it take a 9-11 to wake America up??  The evidence of a much more threatening condition is all around us...apparent for decades...and we snooze..............

Would you have believed a few decades ago you would live to see what’s happening in America?  More importantly, can you believe what’s happening in our neighborhoods, to our recruting stations...well it is and we’ve allowed it to happen by inaction, lethargic attitudes...in short failing to exercise integrity and stand up morally and physically to the abuses that have nearly brought our nation to it’s knees.........

Thousands of “boots on the ground” are expected in Washington, DC on March 14/15 www.eaglesup.us to confront/challenge one devious aspect of the threat on America...those that would have us surrender to the Islamic butchers and dishonor our warriors........it’s a sacrifice for many of us to get to DC but it’s also a sacrifice for our families and warriors to offer up their lives.  The least we can do is protect their backs...what is right, what is wrong?

God help us if we don’t recognize the threat that is tearing the fabric of America in pieces, bit by bit.

Join with America at the Winter Soldier II Testimony challenge on March 14th if you can, and the Washington, DC Mall on March 15th for our march.

  • Big News Breaking: Stand-by

    Major Announcement: Friday, March 14

Move America Forward will be making a major announcement this Friday, March 14, 2008.

The announcement concerns disturbing information we've collected after extensive research into the work of anti-war/anti-military activists.

We will present our findings at a news conference in Washington, D.C. and simultaneously publish a report containing our findings here at the www.MoveAmericaForward.org website.

Please check back here on Friday - we'll need YOUR HELP in getting the word out to people all across the nation!

    Stay tuned...

Meanwhile, is there a master plan at work by the Left-wing underground?

Fort Lewis Washington officials are alerting soldiers and their families to avoid the Tacoma Mall between noon and 5:30 p.m. March 15 because of a planned anti-war protest at the Recuting center. The plans include harassing shoppers and families who the protesters suspect of having military ties.

  • Left-Wing Anarchists and Connection to NYC Marine Recuriting Center Bombing

    I am having a flashback.

    Several, in fact.

Each time I write about the bombing of the Marine Recruiting center in New York City, images in my head from the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon meld together.

I was there in 1983, reporting for my former employer, ABC.

I spent nearly a month examining terrorism up close, and it's hate filled connections to Hamas and Hezbollah.

    Marine Compound, Beirut 1983

I still have nightmares about the deaths of 283 Marines who were murdered by terrorists, just like our Marines are being attacked now.

Last time, it was foreign enemies.

    Now it is domestic enemies.

Marine Recruiting Center, New York City, March 4th, 2008

The Left is growing increasingly impatient because they have lost all battles in the halls of Congress and with the hearts and minds of proud citizens of this country with their demand withdraw American troops from Iraq, just as we are winning the war.

Their hatred, hostility and traitorous behavior is a sign of desperation.

Homeland Security, are you watching? Do you hear our pleas for investigation and prosecution?

From today's New York Daily News on the latest.

FROM AN ANARCHIST WEBSITE –A WAKE-UP CALL

“Fuck state power! And let’s be clear, the right wing groups like A Gathering of Eagles, and Move America Forward, are not only all about state power, but they want state power to be used to crush us. They represent the most reactionary elements of the state which support the most disgusting acts performed by “our troops,” from the bombing of Falluja to the torture of Iraqi civilians, to supporting the mercenary pigs of Blackwater.
You can argue that world can’t wait, Answer, and code pink are authoritarian groups, but who do you see wielding the ax at your throat the most, right now as you read these words? What is needed right now is direct confrontation of these right-wing assholes who are coming to our area, in order to silence and keep us in line (oink!). Think what great advancement and opportunities will come if the Marine station closes down, we can already see the great amount of debate and polarization that is happening just by challenging the existence of one military recruitment center. Let’s turn up the heat!!!
    “

Catherine Moy at www.moveamericaforward.com blogs about the situation.

“The deviant who bombed the Times Square recruiting station and the punks who harass and attack recruiters in Berkeley and elsewhere should understand something: The United States Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard and Marines don’t flinch when it comes to firebombs, Nazis, despots, Commies, IEDs, or smelly hippies.

The Times Square recruiters are back to work. But only a mental weakling would have thought anything different. Army Captain Charles Jaquillard said the incident was like a touch of inclement weather, according to the New York Times.

“For whatever reason this was done,” he said, “there are other ways to get a point across. Whatever that point was, whether it was to stop our recruiting operations or something else, obviously it was a fruitless effort.”
After the police left in the afternoon, Captain Jaquillard deployed two soldiers at the station because the shattered door had been removed. There were computers and other valuable equipment inside, as well as personnel records. The door was replaced in the afternoon.
Recruiting goes on, he emphasized, comparing the bombing to a spell of bad weather

Police captured more images of the fool on the bike who placed the IED. This may help solve the case and lead to his arrest and prosecution. Images of violence and crime are obviously important, which is why Move America Forward has demanded the city of Berkeley erect 24-hour surveillance at the Marine recruiting center on Shattuck Avenue.

Sure, the cameras would capture Code Pink doing yoga and scribbling on sidewalks like schoolgirls, but they would also snag the criminals who assault, batter and generally attack citizens trying to enter the recruiting center.”

Now is the time to take to the streets, and make a POWERFUL STATEMENT to the rest of the country about our resolve to support military men and women in the efforts to defeat al-Queda and the Islamists and their enablers.

The same crypto-fascists who are vandalizing, harassing, assaulting people, while possibly bombing our Military recruiting centers, are  gathering in Washington next week.

Let's greet them with a fierce resolve to SUPPORT OUR TROOPS.

(Gathering of Eagles in NYC today)

Go to Gathering of Eagles for the D.C. counter-protest that I will be attending NEXT WEEK.

Nine Pro-troops organizations are joining together --  Move America Forward, the great Harry Riley from EaglesUp, VetsforFreedom, Families United, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and many others. We are landing in D.C. to fight against International A.N.S.W.E.R., CodePink, Funk the World and the other desperate anti-war, anti-American groups.

    Will you join me?

    Action, not words.

That's what we need right now.

  • But, But, But --It Must be Right --It's the Associated Press!!

    off the wire ...

    March 7, 2008

Here's what's happening at AP radio stations across the California / Arizona / Nevada / New Mexico:

KSFO San Francisco and morning co-host Melanie Rogers part company.

    Whoops. I hope I don't get sued.

(Helpful hint to AP lawyers --truth is a valid defense. Lee Rodgers and I were SECRETLY married almost 15 years ago.)

A nice posting from Ron Winter, a Vietnam Vet, author, political consultant and all around American hero who writes about my lay-off...

Nice to See You, How Was Your Vacation? Hit The Bricks? KSFO in San Francisco Axes Melanie Morgan

    Monday, March 03, 2008

Melanie Morgan came back from vacation this morning to do her morning show on KSFO radio in San Francisco, and before the day was over, her 14-year career at the station was too.

That will make some people happy, notably communists, socialists, anarchists, terrorists, leftist politicians, phony rightist politicians, anyone associated with Code Pinkos, the Berkeley California City Council, and a few perpetually unhappy cranks who never have a good thing to say about anyone.

But for those of us who appreciated her willingness to stand tall and do for this generation of veterans what the women (and men) of the Vietnam generation never did, it is not a good day.

There is always an inside story in situations like this, but at the moment I don't know what it is. The official explanation is that her contract was up and the parent company of her station had already proclaimed sweeping personnel cuts. There have been numerous other hits on the conservative talk circuit across the country and if you have a penchant for conspiracy theories, this is probably a good place to start.

I do know that Melanie's morning drive time show was a forceful voice for America's veterans and active duty military, and she skillfully used her radio exposure. Her outspoken support for conservative issues makes her a favorite guest on CNN and FOX News too.

Her views weren't always welcome, especially at CNN, but she got them out and she got them across.

Melanie took on Code Pink in their own back yard and beat them at their own game. She stood up against communists like ANSWER, and organizations associated with it. She is an ardent environmentalist, and has the history to prove it, and she called them as she saw them.

Melaine didn't hide behind her microphone; she traveled to Washington twice in 2007 to stand up with the troops, and she manned the barricades with us when we counter-demonstrated against the communists, anarchists and pro-terrorists in ANSWER's ranks. She is an unabashed patriot and supporter of the military, for which she will always be appreciated.

  • Bad Ass Marines in Action

The illegal, immoral, and unjust war continues.

And the atrocities, too. Especially the atrocities.

The baby-rapers, killers of innocent civilians --the worst of the worst of military men and women--YOU CAN'T BELIEVE THE BRUTALITY OF THESE SOLDIERS.

    Must SEE.

  • The Friends of Mayor Tom Bates...and friends of his friends

The demons that sit on the shoulders of the far left politicians in this country go by names like A.N.S.W.E.R. (Act Now to Stop War & End Racism), Code Pink, and MoveOn.org.

These are radical left groups that are into violent protests which they call “Direct Action,” their justification for domestic terrorism.

They get behind causes like “The Israeli Siege of Gaza” and “End the Blockade in Cuba” and of course, the ever-popular since 1968 “End the War Now!”

While saying things like “Bring the Troops home”, like they care for the troops, they attack troop supporters and recruiting stations across the country.

All the while making certain to have their accessories like Cuban flags and Che apparel, Jihadi shemagh scarves, and just about anything that is opposed to the American way clearly visible as the latest fashion.

With dreams of bloodshed, mayhem, and of course, Ganja, swirling around in their brains, these idiots are in love with the romantic notion of the popularity of dissent within their peer groups.

It gets them stoned and it gets them laid.

That’s what a lot of it boils down to. They don’t care about America. They don’t care about the troops. Ninety percent of them couldn’t tell you two facts about Che or the reality of Gaza, or what really happened in Chicago in 1968.

They don’t care about anything but finding the lazy way to muddle through the system of entitlements and strive ultimately for the legalization of marijuana, the death of all authority, and ultimately Nirvana, the band not the state, because they couldn’t tell you what the state of nirvana really is.

“Dude, can I crash at yer pad tonight?”

  • Berkeley Mayor Responds to MAF --Cat Moy Fires Back

Melanie and Tom at the Marine Recruiting Center on Wednesday

In a message dated 3/7/2008 4:56:17 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes:

    Dear Ms. Moy,

Over the past few weeks the City of Berkeley has significantly increased the police presence in the vicinity of the Marine Recruiters Station.  I believe we have adequate coverage at this point.  However, the City of Berkeley is a Mayor/Council - City Manager form of goverment and it is not appropriate for the Mayor to determine the appropriate level of police enforcement.  I will forward your e-mail to the City Manager and Police Chief for their information and consideration.

    Sincerely,Mayor Tom Bates

(Mayor Tom Bates standing in solidarity with CodePink.)

RESPONSE FROM CATHERINE MOY, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MOVE AMERICA FORWARD

    Dear Mayor Bates,

Thank you for your response and forwarding our concerns to the police department. I am well aware of how your municipality is set up to work.

My concern is that you, as elected officials, are not doing everything you can to protect your citizens and businesses within your city.

You were elected to listen to citizens and work on the problems of the city. With all due respect, the Berkeley City Council has fueled a situation that, we fear, could inspire an escalation of deviant and volatile behavior among the "peace" crowd.

While you were out of town on Thursday, we did see police patrols who were alert and working hard in the vicinity of the recruiters center. We thanked them for their service.

You did not address the other issues that, we believe, are fueling the agitators who harass the Marine's and intimidate citizens.

To reiterate, we are asking you to simply erect a 24-hour taped surveillance system trained on the Marine center to ensure you capture any criminal activity. This is a simple, positive step that helps increase safety.

Please refer to the earlier email about other very simple steps that would send a message to provocateurs and angry "peaceniks" around the country that you do not endorse their violent, disruptive behavior. It is in the best interests of all peace-loving people that the Berkeley City Council take action and stop this  charade.

    UDPATE: DRUDGE REPORT FROM TODAY

Fears at Berkeley Marine Recruiting Center...

Dear Mayor Bates, I am sorry that Melanie Morgan and I missed you yesterday at your office. We had hoped you would take the time to get back with us today about our requests regarding stepped up security at the Marine Recruiting center in your town.

We want to see more police officers guarding the center, and request a full-time security camera on the area that can capture criminal behavior. Prosecution of criminals must follow. As you can see from Mrs. Malkin's reporting, the rash of violence by "peace" activists is a serious matter.

As you also know, left-wing activists have attacked people at the recruiting center in Berkeley. Media across the nation have reported such. And your favored group, Code Pink, encourages "forceful" behavior to close down recruiting centers, as you can read in Mrs. Malkin's article.

I again will ask you to put a stop to the badgering and violation of others' civil rights at the Marine Recruiting Center by Code Pink and others. You can do this by rescinding the free parking space and noise permits that you have seen fit to give Code Pink.

The Berkeley City Council must also rescind its misguided resolution calling on activists to harass the Marines, and make a formal apology to the Marines and their families. Your actions and the resolutions of the City Council have encouraged this deviant behavior that knows no end. Peaceful Gandhi-style protest is one thing. Using IEDs, like that which was used in Times Square, and the tactics of Code Pink, are quite another.

We condemn this violence and your coddling of those whose daily goals include terrorizing recruiters. We at Move America Forward call on you to stop this dangerous charade now.

If anybody else is hurt during scuffles, bombings, assaults, batteries or any other violence at the Berkeley Marine Recruiting Center, we will hold you personally responsible.

It is utterly irresponsible for you and the Berkeley City Council to encourage dissidents to attack others while paying their bills with public funds.

We await your response to our urgent request that you protect our Marine' and individuals visiting the recruiting center, rescind all resolutions giving favor to Code Pink and urging people to protest the Marines, and offer a formal apology to the Marines for your grievous and un-American actions.

Sincerely, Catherine MoyExecutive Director, Move America Forward

The improvised explosive device went off at approximately 3:45 a.m., shattering glass and twisting the building's metal frame.

Some will dismiss this as just another attack on our troops in Iraq or Afghanistan.

But, the attack didn't take place in the Middle East – the attack against our troops took place here on American soil.

The bombing of the military recruiting center located at Times Square in New York City is still under investigation. Police report a hooded individual leaving the scene on a bike just prior to the bomb's explosion. Eight Democratic politicians received letters providing a warning of the attack before it took place.

This alarming development for the pro-troop movement follows a series of violent attacks against military recruiting centers all across the United States by the self-proclaimed "non-violent" members of the peace movement.

These left-wing radicals have a red-hot hatred of our troops that is so intense they will not only take to the streets to protest our troops' missions in the war on terror, but they will engage in acts of aggression against our troops here at home.

It's all part of a sickening campaign called "counter-recruitment" being conducted by a coalition of leftist groups, including most notoriously, Code Pink.

On its website, Code Pink has dedicated several sections to instructing supporters on ways that they can interfere with the work of military recruiters. It's all available for the public's inspection at the website.

All across the country, anti-American activists have taken up the call. They have already attacked military recruiting centers in cities including Washington, D.C., Berkeley, Calif.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Milwaukee, Wis.; Santa Monica, Calif.; Toledo, Ohio; Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Pittsburgh, Penn.; and Haverhill, Mass. This is just a partial list.

What is so galling is these people have the nerve to tell us that while they don't support the missions of our troops, they nonetheless really do support the individuals.

By harassing them? By vandalizing their offices? By calling them "murderers" and "rapists"? By bombing their offices?

  • Investors Business Daily Editorializes: Danger Ahead

The bombing today in New York underscores the danger we face in this country from the far-left crazies who consult the Internet on how to build IED'S and blast our iconic symbols of national security.

Investors Business Daily has a searing editorial about the subject.

From NBC11, the warning to Berkeley. Beef Up Security.

HOUSE DEMOCRATS RECIEVED LETTER OF BOMBING --BEFORE IT HAPPENED!

Truly revolting developments ...let's see how the Democrats respond to this. Better yet, contact these people and ask them why their 'base' is alerting them to felonies before they happen.

Google Alert just flashed this on my screen.

  • To Berkeley Mayor: We Demand More Security for the Marines

I heard about the bombing at the Marine Recruiting Center in New York early this morning, and flew like a bat out of hell to Berkeley.

I have just returned after marching over to Mayor Tom Bates office and served notice to his representative and the City Council we will HOLD THEM PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE if any violence ensues in moonbat central.

Catherine Moy, Executive Director for Move America Forward, jumped in her big honkin' SUV and joined me in speaking with Gordon Wozniak, Berkeley City Councilman who does believe that the Marines are owed an apology for the letter that was to be sent calling our Marines 'unwelcome and unwanted intruders.'

Wozniak says that the police chief has been notified, and that an increased step-up in patrols is underway now. I personally noted that two and three officers are now at the MRC on Shattuck Avenue. And that's a good thing.

I have been warning that violence is on the increase against our servicemen and women, which is why MAF produced the TV commerical pointing out that over a dozen assaults have taken place in recent months, including New York, Washington, and beyond. This is simply unacceptable.

Meanwhile, back at the Marine Recruiting Center, I sent this photo to Michelle Malkin from my iPhone:

Carrying on the left-wing kiddie human shield tradition, here’s a Pinko blocking the recruitment center with her infant:

    UPDATE!

Zanne Joi, CodePink spokesperson, jaywalked with this baby across the street, put him in the CodeStink van WITHOUT A CHILD SAFETY SEAT.

A Berkeley police officer chased her down, and chewed her out for endangering the life of the child. Move America Forward's supporters watched dumbfounded.

    Hello, calling Britney Spears!

Eamon Kelly, his wonderful mother Elizabeth, John from Alameda, and others either are in Berkeley right now to make sure nothing happens to the Center, and the rumor is that the Patriot Guard is riding up now.

This is seriously scary stuff. Thank God no one was hurt in New York Time.

Activists Fear Bombing At Berkeley Marine Recruiting Center

     POSTED: 1:08 pm PST March 6, 2008

    UPDATED: 2:24 pm PST March 6, 2008

BERKELEY, Calif. -- After a bombing at a Marine recruiting center at Times Square in New York City, Bay Area military supporters came to Berkeley City Hall Thursday to express concerns that the city's Marine recruiting center could suffer a similar attack.

Melanie Morgan, a former talk show host at KSFO radio in San Francisco and member of the conservative grass roots political organization "Move America Forward," said she and her group are very concerned.
SLIDESHOW: Berkeley PD Beefs Up Security After NYC Marine Bombing  Morgan said she was calling on Berkeley mayor Tom Bates to ensure the recruiting center would be protected from a bombing of any kind.  She and other protesters visited Bates' office but he was not there.

They spoke to City Council Member Gordon Wozniak, NBC11's Jodi Hernandez reported.  Wozniak told Morgan and her group that he felt the situation warranted extra security.  NBC11 found several Berkeley police officers stationed in front of or near the Marine recruiting center Thursday.  Police have stepped up their patrols some, but had already increased security at the building since a series of protests surrounding a letter written by the city calling the Marines "unwanted invaders."

Recruiters Warned By Army After Times Square Blast

The Army advised recruiting stations across the country to use extra caution after the New York City blast.  The Pentagon said no official warning or higher state of alert has been issued. A spokesman said occasional vandalism does happen at recruiting stations "from time to time."  Berkeley has drawn heavy criticism nationally for giving the liberal grass-roots political group Code Pink a parking spot directly in front of the Marine recruiting station.  Code Pink has launched a "counter recruitment" plan at military recruitment centers throughout the country.  "This approach calls for creative, forceful tactics to confront a murderous, imperial, military machine that recruits youth like cannon fodder," a statement on the Code Pink Web site read. "Thousands of activists have responded to this call by forcefully demonstrating at recruitment centers, community events, and high schools where military recruiters often lie and deceive. Code Pink and Raging Grannies have occupied recruitment centers and student groups have tossed recruiters off campus, grabbing headlines while changing public opinion."  There have been no incidents of any kind in front of the Marine recruiting station.  Wozniak said he hoped it would stay that way.  There are 15 military recruiting stations in the greater Bay Area. One Marine official told Hernandez that they spent much of Thursday morning making sure that officials at each station knew about the situation at Time Square in New York.

    Bloomberg Vows To Discover Attacker

During a news conference Thursday, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg vowed authorities will track down the person responsible for the incident.  The explosion caused minor damage and no injuries, but it prompted a huge police response that disrupted travel through and beneath Times Square.   "The fact this appears directed at a military recruiting station insults every one of our brave men and women in uniform stationed around the world fighting to defend this country we hold so dear," Bloomberg said during a Thursday morning news conference.   He called the person who conducted the bombing a "coward" and said it wouldn't stop New Yorkers or himself from going about their day.  New York Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly described the bomb used in the explosion as a "low-order explosive device." He said it was in a small ammunition box and detonated by an unknown means.  One witness saw a person riding on a bicycle on the pedestrian island shortly before the explosion acting in a "suspicious manner," Kelly said.

    Melanie Morgan Gets the Boot

Politically-correct, conservative KSFO talk show host Melanie Morgan annonced yesterday that her contract would not be renewed due to financial issues over at KSFO's corporate parent, Citadel Broadcasting Corp. Co-host of the Lee Rodgers & Melanie Morgan Show, Morgan is somewhat (in)famous for jump starting the Gov. Gray Davis recall, which has since left us with Gov. Schwarzenegger; and calling for the rape, murder, hair-pulling, and vivisection of New York Times editor Bill Keller. (Okay, not really, what she actually said was that if Bill Keller should be tried for treason, he should face the ultimate penalty, which is death. So..there you go.)

Regardless of your political slant, we recommend checking out her site. She's entertainingly angry at times. Also, the Bay Area based conservative activist sometimes drinks while she writes -- just like us! We smell a wacky friendship brewing.

Anyway, when Morgan leaves the airwaves, her early morning slot will indeed be filled. But according to KSFO program director Ken Berry, "it won't be with someone the stature of Melanie."

MM: Highball? Chardonnay? Tequilla? Here's looking at the Fisters.

  • Insider Radio Anaylsis on Citadel Broadcasting Melt-Down

Here's a look at what the media analysts like John Rook are saying today about the former ABC/Citadel financial mess...and how it affects KSFO and the rest of the business.

The brain-dead tin-foil hat brigade weighs in with it's stupid, misinformed and plain ridiculous speculation about the lay-offs (me) at KSFO...while taking credit for getting me fired.

    Nice try, Spocko.

But don't let the facts get in the way of your party.

    From SFgate.com

"Melanie was an activist as well as an on-the-air personality and we liked that," Ken Berry said. "Certainly, she was controversial. But we don't shy away from that here."Instead, Morgan's departure has more to do with the financial problems of KSFO's corporate parent, Citadel Broadcasting Corp., which purchased ABC Radio stations from the Walt Disney Corp. last year. Citadel shares have lost 87 percent of their value over the past year. Last month, Citadel reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $848 million."Obviously, we're facing a downturn in the business and we're trying to please the stockholders and the investors, " Berry said. He declined to say if other cuts would follow.

(See above posting from media analysts.)

  • Mainstream Media Still Taking Shots

    Oh for cryin' out loud.

Joe Garofoli in today's San Francisco Chronicle, who should know better, takes another opportunity to knock me over comments about Bill Keller, the New York Times editor who published top secret information about the highly successful FISA program.

In today's article "Melanie Morgan, conservative radio jock, axed" Garofoli misrepresents the story (which he wrote originally.)

I just LOVE it when these writers turn a phrase --"...and called for the execution of New York Times editor Bill Keller."

I said that if Bill Keller should be tried for treason, he should face the ultimate penalty, which is death.

What a difference a few words can make.

Meanwhile, I am reading every e-mail and responding to those who don't use the word c-*$#, b-*!%^, or other vulgar language.

Or threats, like from Media Matters Karl Frisch who wrote to Josh Richman, a Bay Area political reporter:

Karl Frisch, spokesman for Media Matters – the watchdog group from which I culled the three controversial Morgan quotations above — just got back to me.

“A lot of people say these are just fringe characters that deserve no notice whatsoever. We take a different opinion because, whether it’s Melanie Morgan or Rush Limbaugh or Michael Savage, these people are communicating to a large audience and it has a ripple effect,” he said. “It’s important that these people are held accountable for accuracy and for the kind of fear-mongering and hate speech that they use on so regular a basis. And just because Melanie Morgan is off the air doesn’t mean she’s off our radar.”

    Guess what, Karl.

Left, Right Weigh In On Citadel- ABC Radio Meltdown

    Citadel-ABC Radio Sackings Ignite Debate

    Were partisan motives
behind this week's bloodbath at Citadel- ABC Radio stations nationwide?

A day after the second wave of cuts included highly- successful conservative talker Melanie Morgan of KSFO/ San Francisco, both left and right- leaning pundits are presenting theories.

From the conservative side, some (including blog commenters) believe your Radio Equalizer has failed to make a strong enough connection between Morgan's sacking and
Citadel CEO Farid Suleman's history of liberal political contributions. Gateway Pundit has more on this theory here.

American Thinker, on the other hand, took a more neutral view of the circumstances, while National Review's Media Blog looks for a Latin translator.

Given Morgan's strong ratings and highly- visible presence in the Bay Area, her firing does make little sense, especially considering her unmatched ability to generate free publicity for the station.

Meanwhile, on the left, many bloggers
reacted with glee upon hearing that longtime nemesis Morgan had been sacked. Several tried to use her termination to make the case that conservative talk radio was no longer succeeding, but continuing strong ratings (especially during an election year) make that assertion downright foolish.

    As could be expected, the
usual name- calling thrown at Morgan during the best of times was applied liberally after she was made redundant:

    Melanie Morgan canned from KSFO
by Paddy · Monday March 03, 08:52 PM

Wow, this sure made me feel much better!!! All sorts of evil things I could say are ping ponging thru my head, but I'll refrain.

    Guess Who Got Canned!

Okay, okay, everybody. Enough with the emails! Yes, I know that my old nemesis Melanoma Miscarriage has been fired from her job at KSFO.

    Melanie morgan R.I.P 1994-2008

Morgan is not retiring or anything, she'll continue her weekly column for the right-wing website WorldNetDaily and her avocation horrifying small children by biting the heads off their pets; or eating living things for tourists for small change in Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf.

Meanwhile, entertainment reporter Brad Kava seems to recognize the bigger picture: that the loss of local air talent is bad for radio, regardless of whether the host is liberal or conservative.

    And Media Matters
seems almost disappointed to think they might not have her to kick around anymore.

In the end, Citadel-ABC Radio's wipeout hurts us all, as voices on both the left and right are wiped out for the sole purpose of temporarily propping up a failed CEO.

Well, folks, I woke up this morning with a hang-over, but what the hell. It's not often you have a great excuse to get plastered, and surprisingly, my attitude today is pretty damn good.

    Why?

Because my e-mail inbox is loaded to the gills with thousands and thousands of very supportive letters for which I am extremely grateful. It's even amusing to read some of the dopey liberal e-mailers who think I got what was coming to me, and taking credit for my lay-off. As usual, all the lefty e-mails were filled with ugly obscenities. Typical.

I wish that I could e-mail every single one of you back, but I might not get around to finishing the job until 2012!

    Talk radio crisis looms

    Thomas Lifson
Some of the most important talk radio outlets in the country face a serious crisis, thanks to a botched buyout of the former ABC/Disney owned stations by Citadel Broadcasting. The Las Vegas-based company, now called Citadel-ABC radio, has seen expenses rise while revenues declined, and is now enforcing draconian layoffs at such stations as WABC in New York, KABC in Los Angeles, WBAP in Dallas, and KSFO in San Francisco. This morning, it is personal for me, as San Francisco broadcasting legend Melanie Morgan no longer graces the airwaves on KSFO's Morning Show. Melanie is more than a talk show host, she is an  activist who has actually made a difference, time and time again. You could ask former California governor Gray Davis about the recall drive that Melanie launched. Toxic MTBE is no longer poisoning California's water supply, thanks to Melanie's efforts. And Code Pink's Medea Benjamin probably hates Melanie more than she hates President Bush or capitalism, thanks to Melanie's counter-demonstrations. It won't be long before Melanie is back on the air, I am sure. But in the meantime, she will be missed. Brian Maloney, the Radio Equalizer, owns the story of Citadel-ABC's declne. Read his coverage here.  In the meantime, thanks and best regards from American Thinker to our friend Melanie.

    And BACK AT YA, Thom!

But a couple of thoughts tonight as I swill a few adult beverages.

    I lost a job today, but I didn't lose a child.I didn't lose a limb. And I didn't lose my passion for our troops.

My great friend Debbie Lee, whose son Marc Alan Lee, the first Navy Seal to die in the fighting in Iraq, called me to console me about being laid-off today.

I was thunder-struck by her deep generosity, AND the fact that everything in life must be kept in perspective.

Yes, I was laid off and I am sorry to be leaving all my friends from ABC/Citadel Broadcasting. I have some personal grieving to do. And I lost the ability to speak to millions of listeners at KSFO, and on the Internet. (Temporarily.)

But I will NEVER forget the true loss and grief of Gold Star Families who have suffered real agony in the name of our Country, those who fight for the rights of all us to live, breathe and enjoy our freedom.

I want to thank all the KSFO listeners who have supported our causes over the years, and urge them to stay tuned to Lee Rodgers and Officer Vic, as well as my friend Brian Sussman.

  • MY LAST DAY AT KSFO RADIO

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - March 3, 2008

Conservative MelanieMorgan Cut from KSFO Radio

    * Vows to Continue Her Role as Conservative Activist *

(SAN FRANCISCO) – Renowned radio personality and national conservative leader, Melanie Morgan, delivered her final broadcast on talk radio powerhouse KSFO 560 AM today – Monday, March 3, 2008.

The owner of KSFO radio, Citadel Broadcasting, decided not to renew Morgan’s contract as part of the company’s announced across-the-board financial cost cutting.

Melanie Morgan has been a fixture on KSFO for the past 14 years, enjoying a run from 1994-2008 that far exceeded industry standards for longevity. During that time, Morgan emerged as one of the nation’s most dynamic conservative activists, using the radio airwaves to motivate listeners who shared her passion to take action and fight for causes important to them.

Morgan’s on-air activism included an effort that removed the carcinogen MTBE from gasoline in California, launching of the historic Recall Gray Davis campaign that led to the election of Arnold Schwarzenegger as Governor of California, and co-founding the nation’s largest pro-troop organization, Move America Forward.

“It has truly been an honor for me to work at KSFO for the past 14 years.  What I loved most about my time at KSFO was that it allowed me to connect with listeners and take action to make real changes in the world,” said Melanie Morgan.

“We never had a one-way dialogue with our listeners, and we never believed that we had to resolve ourselves to accept the status quo.  We got out of our chairs, left our homes and offices, and circulated petitions, rallied for our troops and met with government leaders. “We did all this to make sure that we left an even better world for our children than the one we had inherited from generations before us,” Morgan said.

As part of her ongoing conservative activism, Morgan has traveled to the Middle East twice to interview U.S. Troops stationed in Iraq and Kuwait.  Her broadcast efforts from Iraq resulted in her winning the Associated Press’s Mark Twain Journalism Award, and The Peninsula Press Club’s award for Best Interview or Talk Show.

“Meeting our troops who are on the frontlines of the war against terrorism stands as the most powerful experience in my broadcast career,” said Morgan.

Morgan’s career with ABC began in 1981 when she was a television reporter for KGO TV.  In 1984, she became an on-air personality for KGO radio where she worked for six years before switching over to ABC-San Francisco sister-station, KSFO 560 AM, co-hosting the Lee Rodgers and Melanie Morgan show.

In 2006, Citadel Broadcasting acquired the ABC Radio group.  She has reported on the scene from the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, Lebanon; the Mexico City earthquake; and the Tiananmen Square massacre in China.

Melanie Morgan says her focus in the days ahead remains unchanged:  She will remain a conservative activist leader. “My commitment and dedication to serve as a leader in the movement to support our military men and women continues to grow,

and I am very proud to serve as Chairman of the pro-troop non-profit group, Move America Forward,” Morgan said. Melanie Morgan is not compensated for her work with Move America Forward, a fact since the group was first launched in 2004.

Morgan will also continue her weekly column for the news website www.WorldNetDaily.com and will continue to serve as a television analyst on news programs on cable and broadcast television stations and networks. “My passion and commitment to the troops who are fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world are foremost in my heart.

"While I will miss my good friends Lee Rodgers and Officer Vic, and our great producer Sheri Yee, I am excited to stay close to the conservative grassroots. And I'll always lead with my chin out," Morgan concluded.

Bill O'Reilly and Melanie Morgan Sound An Anti-American Alarm for Berkeley

Bill O'Reilly, once again, believes he has the right and authority to label cities filled with hardworking taxpaying citizens anti-American . He even believes he has the right to authorize boycotts to hurt the Americans trying to make their livings and raise their families in these places.Melanie Morgan joined him , 2/28/08, to plant the mark of the traitor on Berkeley, California because they did not want Marine recruiters in their town and refuse to apologize for the decision.

[Correction: We are demanding an apology for the destruction at the Marine Recruiting office, the illegal acts taking place there on a daily basis, and the grave insult to the Marines and their families.]

Melanie Morgan and Move America Forward, have taken action with a petition hoping that the town will be ostracized and hurt financially for their decision.

[Correction kiddies --I said that Move America Forward is demanding an apology]

She's proud to say that she's taking her show on the road in hope of hurting other towns who've made the same choice.

[Correction: We are going to point out every act of anarchy by the left who say they support the troops, but destroy their office buildings.]

She believes that her behavior makes her a great American. Here's how she puts it.

."their anti-American opinion. And everybody around the rest of the country watching this has a perfect opportunity to say, hey, you know, we don't support this kind of attitude. And we are going to boycott you until you say you're sorry, until you apologize. That's a reasonable response by reasonable Americans."

[Correction: I pointed out that Move America Forward is NOT involved in the boycott by BrigadeAmerica but understand why people think it's a perfectly reasonable response.]

This gave BOR a chance to give his familiar culture warrior speech that he enjoys so much.

"Some might say, and to the Marine families and other military people who, absolutely, have a right to be insulted, look, you know what Berkeley, California is. You know that it's been this way for 40 years. It's an anti-military, anti- American, they would say it's not, but I believe that they want a total breakdown of America's power structure, and then a different country, the secular progressive vision. So why should anybody care about what they say?"

[MM: People should care because we have documented over a dozen violent attacks from the 'peace crowd' on Marine, Navy and other military recruiting centers who are doing their dead-level best to bring qualified people into the services so that idiots at NewsHounds don't have their heads cut-off by Islamic extremists.]

comment: How many times has Bill O'Reilly done this sort of thing? Yet he still has the gall to call Arianna Huffington a nazi .
