  • Pelosi Slammed for Photo Re-Touch

Princess Pelosi is lookin' purdy good - with a little help from photoshop.

Nancy Pelosi's looking pretty good for a woman who celebrated her 70th birthday last month. A little too good, according to the Washington Examiner.

Pelosi appeared on the cover of Capitol File this month, looking awfully youthful. What's her secret? Either she's a vampire, or she's received the airbrush treatment that's standard practice for any high-profile public figure. We're guessing it's the latter.

Is this why they call her "Stretch"?

  • Lovely Laura: Missed So Much

Laura Bush may be the most beloved First Lady in recent American politics. Her gentle, unassuming demeanor, and her clear distaste for politics made her a favorite even among Democrats.

But she was not without strong opinions, even if she didn't voice them directly.

Mrs. Bush has a new memoir "Spoken From the Heart" coming out May 4th and I can't wait to read it.

Here are a few reasons why:

"... she writes with dismay of Sen. John Kerry answering a presidential debate question about the subject by mentioning that Vice President Cheney's daughter, Mary, is a lesbian. "Beside me, Jenna and Barbara gasped. They were utterly stunned that a candidate would use an opponent's child in a debate."

She's none too happy with Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for the mean things they said about her husband, President Bush. She calls out the House leader for calling Bush "dangerous" and the Senate majority leader for calling him "a loser" and "a liar."

"Subsequently, in a private, one-on-one meeting in the White House Cabinet Room, Reid said to George that he would stop calling him names. But he didn't stop," she writes.

Nevertheless, the Bushes continued to invite both to the White House for events "repeatedly," and "when the Queen of England visited in the spring of 2007, Pelosi danced in the White House in her long ball gown."

She has a few other scores to settle with the press, and she names names:

The New York Times' Jason DeParle interviewed her "in a tone that was adversarial and more than a touch offensive." Jim VandeHei, then at The Washington Post, appalled her in Egypt when, during a presentation by the director of the Giza pyramid excavation project, he "elbowed his way to the front of the press pool, climbed onto the pyramid plateau and began shouting out questions" about Egyptian politics. As an ever-watchful monitor of how her husband was portrayed in the press, she confronted Elisabeth Bumiller of the New York Times for using in a story an anecdote about George W. Bush at Yale that Laura Bush writes wasn't true. "While the truth may not be as interesting, it is the truth," she chides.

  • Backlash!

President and founder of the Pleasanont/NorCal TEA Party, Dr. Bridget Melson has issued a notice of a San Francisco boycott to 10,000 TEA Party patriots strong and counting. Tri-Valley Patriots and East Bay Patriots also support the boycott.

Founder Melson says, "I am very worried about this country. This is no joke here. It is not getting any better and in fact, it is going downhill fast. This is how civil wars start. I say spend your money anywhere else than in San Francisco, vacation elsewhere, dine elsewhere--if you protest here, bring your own food, coffee and water."

Then we have the fact that Obama is trying to dictate what happens in AZ by saying that "this is a poorly conceived law".

Over 70% of the citizens of Arizona are in favor of enforcing the state immigration measure and yet President Obama still tries to get overly involved and states that “you can try to make it really tough on people who look like they, quote, unquote look like illegal immigrants. One of the things that the law says is that local officials are allow to ask somebody who they have a suspicion might be an illegal immigrant for their papers -- but you can imagine if you are a Hispanic American in Arizona, your great, great grandparents may have been there before Arizona was even a state. But now suddenly if you don’t have your papers and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you’re going to be harassed, that’s something that could potentially happen.”

"Ok," says Melson, "so let's allow these illegal's to continue to kill hard-working Americans who have a RIGHT to be here?"

Tea Party Patriot Diane says, "I wonder what the results would be if they took a poll on how many CALIFORNIANS would like such a law as Arizona's enacted here! My guess is an overwhelming majority."

"Although I continue to preach respect, at this point I having a difficult time preaching that when it comes to our inept local and state representatives (referring to Mayor Newsom, Los Angeles councilwoman Hahn, and State Senate Pro Tem, Darrell Steinberg). They certainly are not respecting us. They have clearly gone over the edge here. I hope this is a wake up call to ALL--Democrats, Republicans and Independents that the power hungry progressives have taken over. It is not about party lines at this point--it is about your freedom of choice and being improperly represented", Melson says.

  • Viral Billboard Campaign

See that really cool graphic design to the right side of the page? My pal Chuck DeVore fiercing guarding our constitution? Well, the DeVore campaign is using that Hollywood inspired iconic image on a billboard across California, and asking folks to donate $100 to put up as many as possible in the busy corriders of commerce around the Golden State.

The billboards, most of them 48 feet wide, begin their run on Monday in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties, as well throughout the Central Valley.

Billboard locations can be viewed at the DeVore for California website:

    http://chuckdevore.com/billboard/

The object is to retire Senator Boxer. Everyone knows what a tough campaigner she is, so they set out from the start to innovate, to blaze a new path to victory.

Assemblyman Chuck DeVore said, "Our campaign has won awards for innovation in social networking and for the first-ever statewide candidate iPhone app. This stunning billboard image is a continuation of that effort."

The billboards were the brainchild of two of DeVores conservative Hollywood supporters, with DeVores 18-year-old daughter completing the layout and artwork. They feature Mr. DeVore standing, with arms crossed in front of an image of the Constitution with the words from the oath of office, Support and Defend, along with ChuckDeVore.com and U.S. Senate. The campaign said the objective was to create a buzz among Californians concerned about their lawmakers viewing adherence to the Constitution as unimportant.

Stephen K. Bannon, writer/director of "Generation Zero" and one of the Hollywood conservatives who conceived this effort, said, "The concept of placing Chuck Devore in front of the Constitution was a natural. Chuck's entire career has been about service to country and defense of our basic freedoms. Chuck Devore's public life is inextricably linked to his defense of our Constitution. We are glad to represent a growing section of the creative community that actively supports Chuck Devore's candidacy for the Republican nomination for United States Senate."

A recent poll commissioned by Capitol Weekly showed DeVores support starting to surge at 14.5 percent of likely Republican primary voters, only 2.6 percent behind Carly Fiorina and 16.1 percent behind Tom Campbell. At least $1.8 million of issue advocacy and independent expenditure ads have recently launched to educate voters about Campbells support for massive tax increases and other liberal positions.

    Good News for Team Chuck.

SFGate's Joe Garofoli has the story...

  • Kelsey Grammer Launches TV Party TV

Kelsey Grammer at La Cage Aux Folles Broadway Show Opening Night

HE may be the only Republican celebrity in America who is in love with a drag queen. Kelsey Grammer, former star of Frasier, the hit television comedy, has startled his conservative fans by helping to launch a right-wing broadcasting network days after receiving rave reviews for his performance as a gay nightclub owner in a Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles.

By night, Grammer dresses up as a seedy entrepreneur besotted with the transvestite star of his Riviera revue. By day he appears in an internet video promoting the RightNetwork, a controversial television venture aimed at followers of Sarah Palin and the right-wing rebels of the Tea Party movement.

Grammer’s unusual double act has thrust him to the heart of a long-running debate over political bias on American television and whether or not the success of Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News has opened the door to other forms of conservative-influenced entertainment.

It has also exposed one of America’s most popular actors to unpleasant personal attacks as critics from both left and right question his political beliefs and intentions.

“He is opening in a Broadway show that depicts a part of the culture that the Tea Party wants to hold back,” noted Lance Smith on the Mediaite website. “Mr Grammer is a hypocrite.”

As one of the few Hollywood actors to be open about his Republican sympathies, Grammer was a lonely supporter of President George W Bush and has flirted with running for the US Senate, but has also acknowledged that he is liberal on many social issues.

On the network’s new website, Grammer appears in a series of videos promoting programmes that will be broadcast on television and the internet this summer. These include a reality show about novice political candidates, expected to be members of the Tea Party; a comedy show called Right 2 Laugh; and a series on politicians and pundits who play poker.

“We’re creating a welcome place for millions and millions of Americans who’ve been looking for an entertainment network and media channel that reflects their point of view,” said Ed Snider, a cable television magnate and one of RightNetwork’s top investors.

Grammer has invested heavily in the television venture but Elizabeth Snead, of the Dish Rag media blog, questioned how enthusiastically he would be received by Tea Party supporters concerned that the Republican party is not conservative enough.

“We have to wonder if Grammer is the right choice for a Tea Party network that is ... clearly meant to appeal to audiences in — how shall we put this — middle America,” said Snead.

(From Melanie: Ms. Snead clearly doesn't "get" the Tea Party movement which is linked together primarly by people who share deep concern about economic issues, rather than social issues. In case Ms. Snead hails from Rio Linda, that's jobs, debt, and healthcare. Got it? Now don't make me explain this again.)

  • Polls, More Polls, Read All About It!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- DeVore for California today responded to the release of the Capitol Weekly/Probolsky Research poll on the Republican race for U.S. Senate in California, in which Chuck DeVore and Carly Fiorina are shown to be in a statistical tie. The poll, with a margin of error of +/-3.7%, showed Tom Campbell with 31%, Carly Fiorina with 17%, and Chuck DeVore with 14%. These numbers continue the polling trend in this race, with Campbell essentially flat, Fiorina continuing her steady decline, and DeVore continuing his steady rise.

Chuck DeVore said, "The story of my campaign has been the story of a slow and steady rise in voter awareness and enthusiasm. California's Republicans are realizing that I am the only proven conservative in this race -- and the only one who can beat Barbara Boxer. With this poll, my rising support finally intersects Carly Fiorina's falling support. It won't be the last time we overtake a rival between now and November."

Leisa Brug Kline, DeVore for California campaign manager, said, "Chuck DeVore continues his climb in the polls first and foremost because he's a strong candidate with an outstanding record. But he also benefits as Republicans turn away from the failing effort of Carly Fiorina. Her campaign is now in crisis: not only is she tied with us, but her FEC reports from the first quarter of 2010 reveal a financially troubled operation that is -- when backing out the Potemkin village of the untouched self-loan and the massive unpaid debts -- nearly half a million dollars in the red.

"What's all that money gotten her? Nothing. That's an operation that's crumbling under its own weight; and it's one that, for all its pretensions of facing Barbara Boxer, won't make it past June 8th. Rumors are swirling that Fiorina is set to sack many of her high-priced and ineffective consultants, but it's too late. There's only one direction left for Carly for California: downward."

Joshua Treviño, DeVore for California communications director, said, "In November 2009, Carly Fiorina became a conservative for the first time in her life. She insists it's a genuine conversion, and now she has the opportunity to prove it. If the conservative vote is divided between a surging Chuck DeVore and a foundering Carly Fiorina, California's Republicans face the real danger of nominating the pro-tax, pro-spending, pro-abortion, pro-gay-marriage Tom Campbell. Conservatives must unify against this threat. In that light, we invite Carly Fiorina to end her candidacy and support a winning conservative: Chuck DeVore."

The DeVore for California campaign is online at ChuckDeVore.com.

Hood River, OR. – Move America Forward has been contacted by local police in Hood River and informed that a woman named Susan Crowley went to the Hood River police today and pleaded with them to arrest Debbie Lee immediately, for inciting a riot. Susan Crowley who is a member of ‘Columbia River For Peace’ the group organizing that anti-military ‘conference’ is described on their website as a former attorney and the person who initiated the protest against Insitu.

“I’m not the one they have to worry about,” said Debbie Lee, the mother of a hero, Marc Alan Lee the first Navy SEAL to be killed in the war in Iraq. “There has never been any sort of violence initiated by our side at a rally I’ve spoken at or organized by Move America Forward,” she continued, “Cindy, on the other hand, has been arrested more than a dozen times, she’s been banned from the White House and whole cities, I’ve never been arrested. • Boxer, Bully of the Senate

Shocker: MSM discovers that Senator Barbara Boxer is vulnerable, and can be beaten by any of the Republican candidates.

    Huh. Imagine that.

"... like many incumbents, Boxer is paying a price. The mortgage crisis turned new developments into ghost towns, and the state's unemployment rate hit a modern record in March. The number of residents fleeing the state has outstripped those coming in, and illegal immigration remains an unresolved problem.

There is a budding tea party movement eager to shake up Washington, and voter surveys suggest those voters tilt Republican. An independent Field Poll last month found Boxer running about even with DeVore, Fiorina and Campbell.

More troubling: More than half the state's independents, the swing voters, have an unfavorable opinion of the senator.

Boxer "is part of the political system that wants to grow the government," says John Millrany, 71, a semi-retired public relations executive and political independent who once was a Democratic Party volunteer.

"I think the government is growing too large," he said outside the library. "The entitlements and the taxes are bound to go up."

Obama "Amused" by Tea Party protests (h/t Lucianne.com)

    Original Article

President Barack Obama struck a hyperpartisan note Thursday, telling Democrats that he was "amused" by the Tax Day Tea Party rallies. Obama, addressing a Democratic National Committee (DNC) fundraiser in Miami, did little to endear himself to the Tea Party groups protesting around the country, saying "they should be saying thank you" because of the tax cuts he has signed into law. The president went as far as to say that this week's special election in Florida, which was won by Democrat Ted Deutch, was portrayed by Republicans as "a referendum on healthcare, a referendum on the stimulus."

Matthew Beach is the type of tea party voter political strategists of all stripes have a hard time understanding. Beach got off Wednesday afternoon from his job working on helicopters at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala., and along with his wife, Jessie, got in his 1999 GMC pickup to drive overnight to Washington, where he arrived in time for Thursday's lunch-hour Tax Day at Freedom Plaza.

Before he left home, Beach hand-lettered a sign for the event. It read: DISAPPOINT THE GOVERNMENT: BE RESPONSIBLE, SELF-RELIANT AND KIND.

I'll have a more comprehensive write-up of some of the things I saw at the protest today, but here are some highlights.

David Freddoso - White House trying to scale back Obama's pledge on taxes

During his election campaign, President Obama made a very clear and unambiguous promise: If your family makes less than $250,000 per year, then none of your taxes will be increased -- period.

But in order to gloss over the tax increases contained in Obamacare -- on the sick, the uninsured, and durable medical equipment -- President Obama is trying to alter that pledge in the middle of his term

  • What Did She Know, and When Did She Know It?

    http://www.calbuzz.com/2010/04/why-brown-wont-unload-on-emeg-at-dem-convo/

That’s the story of the Hurricane: Once again, Carly Fiorina is shocked – shocked! – to learn of alleged unsavory, perhaps illegal, conduct by employees under her watch as CEO of Hewlett-Packard. As all good Calbuzzers know, Hurricane Carly has already professed to know nothin’ about nothin’ to do with HP’s shipments to Iran of hundreds of millions of dollars of products, through a third party company, during her tenure.

Now comes the Wall Street Journal (subscription) to report that the SEC and the U.S. Justice Department have joined the governments of Russia and Germany in investigating allegations that HP went to the wallet for $11 million in bribes to win a lucrative contract with the Russian prosecutor general’s office, while Fiorina was in charge. So, for the second time, iCarly is rolling out her see-no-evil, hear-no-evil act:

“Carly has no knowledge of these alleged actions,” said her spokeswoman, Amy Thoma. “When she served as the CEO of HP if she had been aware of any illegal or inappropriate behavior by any employee she would have taken action immediately to terminate the parties involved.”

    Which leaves four possibilities:

    1) Double agents in the German and Russian governments, joined by moles in the SEC and DOJ, have all been duped by demon sheep in the Chuck DeVore for Senate campaign into leaking word of a baseless, phony investigation.

    2) Fiorina, who never stops boasting of what a swell job she did as HP CEO, was simply ignorant of what was going on in her own company.

    3) The whole messy business has slipped her mind.

    4) She’s lying.

    Calbuzz bets: 2) or 4).

  • One Cool Cat, Jesse Kelly

You gotta check out this dude, dudes and dudettes.

Jesse Kelly, military veteran, running for Congress in Arizona.

    He needs our help!

Jesse Kelly, candidate for Congress in Arizona’s 8th District, led a squad of the first Marines into Baghdad in Operation Iraqi Freedom. In true Marine fashion, he was among the first in the nation to challenge Obama and the radical liberals in Washington by announcing his candidacy for Congress in April 2009.

A businessman, husband, father of one (and another on the way), Jesse entered the race as a non-politician, private citizen, in order to defend freedom. In the past year, he has gained national attention, leading a movement of Warriors fighting for limited government, fiscal sanity and free market solutions. It's that Marine attitude…the will take this country back from the brink of socialism...that has led him to the successes he has had in the past year.

Jesse's district is one that was held by a Republican for 22 years (Jim Kolbe) before retiring in 2006. That year, the seat went to Gabrielle Giffords, a self-proclaimed Blue-Dog Democrat, who has since voted for Obamacare, Stimulus, the Bailouts, Cap and Trade and the out of control Pelosi Budget. In a district that registers 13,000 more Republicans than Democrats, the seat is being eyed by experts as a "toss up," ripe for a pick-up by the GOP. Jesse's campaign is an excellent mix of grass roots and money, having raised over $375 thousand dollars, while directly contacting over 18,000 voters in daily door-to-door walking parties.

Jesse faces a primary challenge by the establishment-moderate wing of the Party, in former state Senator and former lobbyist, Jonathan Paton, who only entered the race around the time of Scott Brown's victory in Massachusetts. Paton, who was in his time in the state legislature, named a "Friend of Big Government" by American's for Prosperity has voted for then Governor and Now Big Sis, Janet Napolitano's budgets that bankrupted the State of Arizona. Furthermore, he has voted against tort reform, he has voted against school vouchers, and he has flip-flopped on the no tax pledge, vocally coming out against it in 2009, but later signing it in 2010. Paton has a lot of money, being funded by the establishment moderates in the state, but he is facing a large backlash by those who see a clear choice between he and the conservative, Jesse Kelly in southern Arizona

Jesse, on the other-hand is the clear conservative choice in AZ-8. Jesse has been endorsed by Mark Levin, Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Mike Pence, along with other conservative state and national leaders. He has surrounded himself with local business professionals, free market economists and physicians in order to craft the best possible policies for our nation.

The future of the Republican party and the future of the balance of the House of Representatives can all come down to Arizona's 8th District. That is why Jesse Kelly needs the help of conservatives from around the nation!

  • The Whistlin' of the Tea Pot

    April 13, 2010

    Victoria Jackson and Jimmy Labriola

Monday night on The Andrea Shea King Show, comedian Victoria Jackson of Saturday Night Live and comic Jimmy Labriola of the TV series Home Improvement joined us for a half hour of hilarity.

Victoria Jackson raises the flag at the Buffalo NY Rally

I climbed aboard the Tea Party Express Gold Bus when we left the Syracuse Rally for the three hour drive to Albany where we’ll do a rally on Tuesday morning. The Gold Bus is where the TPX entertainers make their home on the road. In the front of the bus is a lounge-type seating with face to face leather bench seats, a small galley, and a small all-purpose table.

Sitting up front were Lloyd Marcus and wife Mary, singer/songwriter Diana Nagy, Victoria Jackson and her daughter Aubrey, Jimmy Labriola, and me.

At the appointed time, I dialed into the show where Dave has been doing hosting duties while I’m on the road. Dave introduced the show, set things up and then turned it over to me. And that’s when the fun ensued. Jimmy and Victoria took over the show with their spontaneity. You do not want to miss it. Nearly 30 minutes of solid off-the-top-of-their-head comedy gold. And why not? We had two stellar entertainers coming to you live from the Gold Bus. It’s how we roll…

Listen to the show by clicking here.

Show producer Dave Logan discovered this video produced by David Jaggot and Christian Hartsock of RightNetwork.com and posted it at his site. Just in case you haven’t made it over there, I’ve grabbed it and posted it here for your convenience. It captures the Tea Party Express National Tour. Perfectly.

  • The Word is Getting Around...

North Myrtle Beach, SC -- A major national organization, Warriors for Congress, http://www.warriorsforcongress.com/ that's supporting a select group of only eight combat veterans nationwide running for Congress, announced that they are endorsing North Myrtle Beach's Katherine Jenerette in her bid to become the U.S. Congressman for the 1st Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Jenerette is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War Operation Desert Storm and is still serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve and an Army Paratrooper assigned to Ft. Bragg.

Jenerette was named last week by Melanie Morgan, a nationally known radio host, TV personality, and fundraiser for pro-military causes, who is the Chairman of Warriors of Congress. Previously, Morgan co-founded Move America Forward, the nation's largest grassroots, pro-troops nonprofit.

Morgan said, "Katherine Jenerette is a role model for American women and all members and veterans of the military. She's the first female paratrooper ever to run for Congress, and she's truly exemplary in her commitment to conservative values, the Constitution, and to our country."

This morning, a $500.00 donation arrived after my appearance on the Brian Sussman Show, and many smaller ones.

    Thank-you Bay Area!

    More, please.

Katherine Jenerette, Nick "Gunny Pop" Popaditch, Dr. Joe Heck, Vaughn Ward, Jesse Kelly, Chuck DeVore, Andy Harris, and Duncan Hunter, Jr. really appreciate your help.

Lots of stuff going on - are YOU prepared to take your country back?

  • Stand Up, Be Counted

UPDATE: Join me on the Barbara Simpson Show on 560 KSFO Radio at 4:30 this afternoon to discuss Warriors for Congress, and the virtual Town Hall that we are participating in for Chuck DeVore, the Warrior for Senate. That broadcast takes place Monday at 7:00 p.m. Go to www.chuckdevore.com for more details!

We're on the ground and we're taking it back - the country, that is.

Folks, I have been involved in the conservative movement for over 17 years, and I can tell you that I have never been more excited than I am at this moment.

I am proud to announce that as of tonight, I have launched a Political Action Committee (PAC) called WarriorsforCongress.

My partner Catherine Moy and I are going to use all of our expertise, contacts, passion and experience to take the Tea Party energy that is moving across the land to the next level.

It's not enough to be angry anymore. We have to funnel our pride in our country and disdain for the liberals into electing men and women who can lead us out of the political morass that is ruining America.

Cat and I have selected 8 individuals who are war veterans - serving either in Iraq, Afghanistan or other global conflicts - and we are trying to raise money for them to win their election contests this June and then hopefully, into the November election.

Using our experience in the pro-troop community, we are here to give a voice to the true patriots of this country. These heroes don't hve money, don't have a voice, and have already given their hearts, minds and bodies - we have to give back to them!

    I need your help.

I am asking for you to do three things: 1) go to our website www.warriorsforcongress.com (the website goes live at 6:05 PDT)

    2) sign-in and get our free newsletter and

    3) contribute to these races.

Okay, here's the fourth thing we need you to do - VOTE.

Read all about the candidates we have selected. They are the leadership we crave. They have already sacrificed for our country and they are ready to take us where we need to be to revive our conservative principles.

Our United States military men and women are the best trained, most dedicated, and people of the highest character. Let's reward them with our trust on election day.

Tonight, I'll be explaining all of this on KMBZ radio in Kansas City, Missouri at 8:05 CDT.

Tune in to Darla Jaye's show. Next week, I'll be live on Brian Sussman's show on KSFO in San Francisco, 560 AM, and then Sean Hannity later in the week plus Dennis Miller, as well as other programs that I'll alert you to.

Get us started right now by checking out www.WarriorsforCongress.com and make a donation if you can. $5.00 or $2300 (the maximum allowed under law) will go to help these strong young men and women (check out the gorgeous Katherine Jenerette, Army reservist) who need our support.

    Thank you so much!

    Mel Morgan

Tea Party Express Reacts to Stupak Retiring

    April 9, 2010 - 9:49 AM | by: Cristina Corbin

The Tea Party Express credited its influence on Friday in "defeating" Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak--a key target of the conservative activists who barreled into his district a day earlier to rally against him.

"The surprising announcement that Congressman Bart Stupak is abandoning his campaign for reelection shows the power of the tea party movement," the group's political director, Bryan Shroyer, said in a statement.

"Stupak was no longer able to hide his betrayal of conservative principles because the tea party movement was determined to educate the voters in the district," he said.

Stupak, a pro-life Democrat representing Michigan's 1st congressional district, was under attack by the tea party movement and other conservative groups for his vote in favor of the Democratic health care legislation.

"I absolutely credit the mere threat of us coming through his district," Tea Party Express chairman Mark Williams told FoxNews.com. "We put the nail in the coffin."

The Tea Party Express, one of the most visible factions of the movement, rolled into Bessemer, Mich., late Thursday to stage a rally targeting Stupak. The group also launched an aggressive ad campaign against him – with the group’s political action committee, Our Country Deserves Better, pledging $250,000 in radio and T.V. ads aimed at ousting him from office.

The group had planned 11 rallies in the state over the next three days, protesting Stupak's controversial vote and calling for his swift resignation.

Williams said Stupak's announcement on Friday in no way disrupts their plans.

"Now it becomes a celebration of the process and the power of the people," he said.

  • I Seen it Wid My Own Eyes! Honest!

Andrew Breitbart has offered a 100K to anyone who can prove that the N-word or spitting was hurled by conservatives angry at a bunch of left-wing Democrat pols as they marched into Congress after the Health Care vote, as claimed by Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver and John Lewis.

Now the AFL-CIO chief claims he saw it, yessir, he saw it happen. He seen it witt his own eyes!

  • Bouncing Babsy Boxer: Trouble on the Horizon

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., is used to sailing with the prevailing political breeze, but this year she is heading into a storm.

"Certainly I think this year is different than previous years for Boxer," said Mark DiCamillo, director of the Field Poll in California.

Last month, the Field Poll found Boxer virtually tied with each of three potential GOP opponents and she actually lagged behind one, former Rep. Tom Campbell, by a point.

The day the poll was released, Boxer assured reporters she could handle the challenge, telling them, "All my races have been hard."

But this race could be different, say analysts.

"I don't believe there has ever been a time when she was trailing in any measure," DiCamillo said. "I would label this seat this year as very competitive and a tossup seat."

Boxer's threatened re-election bid is tied to her image among voters, which has worsened in recent months. The Field Poll in January found registered voters viewed her favorably, 48 percent to 39 percent. But those numbers nearly reversed themselves by March, with Boxer's unfavorable rating rising to 51 percent and her favorability score dropping to 38 percent.

DiCamillo says Boxer was damaged in part by the passage by Democrats of the president's massive health care program. Other political analysts say Boxer has sagging poll numbers because of the anti-Washington sentiment across the country. California is suffering from 12.8 percent unemployment and a massive state budget deficit.

  • Lee and Me, Eye-to-Eye

Lee Rodgers is endorsing a candidate in the U.S. Senate race. For the first time, like, EVER.

Is it Carly? Is it Tom? Is it Chuck?

The answer coming up right after this commerical message (just kidding.)

    RASSLIN' WITH RINOS IN CALIFORNIA

Even in blue-state California, uber-liberal Senator Barbara Boxer ("Call me Senator, not ma'am," she lectured a U.S. military officer) has an unpopularity rating that would indicate a vulnerability to a Republican challenger.
    The question is which challenger.
Carly Fiorina has a background in the big-time corporate world and a bulging campaign war-chest.
Chuck DeVore brings a record of principled conservatism in the state legislature.
Has the prototype for this sort of match-up been seen before? Let us recall State Sen. (now congressman) Tom McClintock versus Arnold Schwarzenegger in the race to replace Gov. Gray Davis. The battle cry of the Republican moderates was, "Only a moderate like Arnold can win."
Win he did. And what did Republican party actually win? A RINO who sold out on virtually every principle for which he and his party ostensibly stand, including fiscal responsibility. One need only look at the financial ruin that is California today to recognize that Arnold makes Gray Davis look like Calvin Coolidge, by comparison.
This is not to say that Carly Fiorina would follow the time-dishonored path of other RINOs. But a surer bet not to be another John McCain in the Senate is Chuck DeVore.
DeVore's military background is as intelligence officer. That commodity has been seriously lacking in the GOP.

  • Cracking the Egg Assault

Egging a Tea Party Express bus? No yolk.

Two weeks ago, yours truly was standing aboard the Tea Party Express bus when I heard a sharp noise. As an experienced former combat reporter, I feared the worst - gunfire.

Instead of ducking lead, I was watching egg splatter.

    On our vehicle.

Andrea Shay King has been keeping tabs on the rest of the story and Levi Russell, the Tea Party Express III Communications Director, has written a piece for Big Government about the egging of one of our buses in Searchlight NV last week.

Police nEGGligence In Tea Party Bus Egging Case

    by Levi Russell

It’s been about a week since eggs thrown by Harry Reid supporters exploded onto the windshield of the Tea Party Express bus as it rolled through his hometown of Searchlight, NV. The crime, reported to police just moments after it happened, was ignored by local authorities, who wouldn’t return phone calls and dodged responsibility with a line stolen from bad police movies, “Nothing we can do, that’s not our jurisdiction.”

  • Thoughts from Rodgers Radio World

    "MODERATION” STRIKES AGAIN!

I left California for Arizona several years ago and did my broadcasts from my own studio. While Arizona is not without its fiscal problems, they're minor compared to the train-wreck in California. They developed, however, because Janet Napolitano succeeded in convincing some gullible swing-voters that she was a "moderate" Democrat. Then, once in office, she demonstrated her "moderation" by running the state into debt paying for typical liberal social programs.

Now a Republican governor is trying to repair the damage and the legendary Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County (Phoenix) has announced that he's going to run for the job. The pro-illegal-immigration crowd is in a tizzy, of course, but the debt run up largely on freebies for illegals under Napolitano has opened many Arizonan's eyes. The idea that, as head of the Department of Homeland Security, she would "secure our borders" induces gales of laughter in the Grand Canyon State.

    AFFIRMATIVE SILLINESS

The hiring of Michael Steele as party chairman by the Republican National Committee was obviously, from the start, an affirmative-action tactic.
Typical of the kind of blundering that has cost the Republican party the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives, the so-called "leadership" was apparently playing a misguided racial-politics game when they selected Mr. Steele. A game of, "They have a black president, so we'll counterbalance with a black... party chairman??!!" Only the kind of political hacks who've risen to positions of leadership in the Republican Party could possibly see that as equivalence.
One of his first acts as the new chairman was to pick a fight with the most prominent conservative voice in America, Rush Limbaugh. That was the first clue that Mr. Steele was not going to be a party unifier. Now comes the sex-club scandal; the spending of party funds for an outing to a nightclub specializing in bondage acts.
Perhaps the evening was intended to dramatize the position in which Mr. Steele has placed his party: tied-up and whipped.
There's nothing wrong with the party having a black chairman, but the first priority should be qualifications of the sort Mr. Steele clearly lacks.
Now his defenders within the party establishment are faced with the uncomfortable dilemma often faced by managers in the private sector forced into unwise hirings under what is manifestly a racial quota system: they've hired somebody they can't fire.

(Ed. Folks, Lee Rodgers has a blog and knows how to use it. From time to time, I'll be re-posting his musings. You can read for yourself at www.radiorodgers.com)

  • Just Say It - Obama is a Liar

President Obama's relationship with the truth is about as conforming as Jesse James in his marriage with Sandra Bullock (sorry, Sandy!)

Here’s how predictable the president’s slippery relationship with the truth has become: Hours before the State of the Union address, Washington Examiner reporter Timothy P. Carney posted a “pre-emptive fact check” that, among other things, prebutted any presidential claim to have “stopped the revolving door between government and corporate lobbying.” As it happened, that night Barack Obama made an even bolder (read: less truthful) claim: that “we’ve excluded lobbyists from policymaking jobs.”

In fact, more than 40 former lobbyists work in the administration, including such policy makers as Deputy Defense Secretary William J. Lynn (who was lobbying for Raytheon as recently as 2008), Office of the First Lady Director of Policy and Projects Jocelyn Frye (National Partnership for Women and Families), White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Cecilia Muñoz (National Council of La Raza), and Treasury Secretary Chief of Staff Mark Patterson (Goldman Sachs).

When Carney confronted a White House spokeswoman with the falsehood, she conceded nothing. “As the President said,” she wrote, “we have turned away lobbyists for many, many positions.” Just not all of them.

Barney Frank slams the revolving door shut

    Examiner Editorial

"In coming days, this newspaper will ask every other committee chairman and ranking minority member to take the Frank Pledge and promise to keep staffers-turned-lobbyists away from their committees."

    On the president's popularity plunge

    Hugh Hewitt, Examiner Columnist

"This utter lack of graciousness from the Oval Office won't increase the dismal 34 percent approval the president gets on health care."

    The Catholic quandary

    Bill O'Reilly, Examiner Columnist

"Believe me, I saw so many loons in my Catholic school days that I should be a Buddhist. But it is the theology, not the church leadership, that keeps me in the fold."

Foreign thinking missing in foreign policy

    James Jay Carafano, Examiner Columnist

Tea Party Express rocks with Little Rock Patriots

Kicked off the day on this beautiful wam and sunny Saturday of Easter weekend with a rally on the capitol steps in Little Rock, AK. You’ll see by these photos that it was a friendly, America-loving crowd– the same type as seen at every other stop we’ve made in the week since beginning this tour in Searchlight, NV last Saturday.

I just want to say that the characterization of tea parties made by Rep. Steve Cohen couldn’t be more wrong. Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit posted about it earlier today:

Awful lib Rep. Steve Cohen compared tea party protesters to the KKK in an interview this week. Of course, he has nothing to back up these hateful accusations but it’s not like the media is going to correct him. We all know that won’t happen.
    News Alert reported:

    Rep. Steve Cohen:

“The tea party people are kind of without robes and hoods. They have really shown a very hardcore angry side of America that is against any type of diversity. We saw opposition to African-Americans, hostility towards gays, hostility towards anyone who, you know, just wasn’t a clone of George Wallace’s fan club.”

Do you suppose Cohen will apologize now that Rep. Cleaver admitted the spitting story was all made up?

Bill O'Reilly Pays Legal Bill for Fallen Marine's Father

    Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 9:37 PM

    Jim Hoft

Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder
Died March 03, 2006 serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom
20, of Finksburg, Md.; assigned to Combat Service Support Group 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; died March 3 from a non-combat-related vehicle accident in Anbar province, Iraq.

The Westboro cult picketed Matthew's funeral. Earlier today it was reported that the Marine's father is being forced to pay the cult's court costs.

America's top rated cable news host Bill O'Reilly announced tonight that he will pay the legal fee for the father of fallen US Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder who sued the Westboro cult after they picketed his son's funeral. The father of Albert Snyder is being forced to pay the Westboro cult's court costs.
    Newmax reported:

No. 1 cable news host Bill O'Reilly said Tuesday that he will personally write a check to cover $16,500 in legal costs for the father of a fallen U.S. Marine who sued the members of a church who picketed his son's funeral.

According to news reports, the members of the Westboro Baptist Church, located in Topeka, Kan., believe that God is punishing the United States because of its acceptance of gay people. The church garners attention for its views by protesting high-profile funerals.

On March 3, 2006, Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder died in a non-combat related vehicle accident in Al Anbar province in Iraq.

"He was a hero and he was the love of my life," said Albert Snyder, Matthew's grieving father.

During the wake that was held after his son's funeral, family members turned on the television to view coverage of the massive procession involving over 1,500 persons. They saw the church members waving signs and protesting the funeral.

"I just stood there in shock," Albert Snyder told O'Reilly in November 2007.

"I couldn't believe that somebody would do that to somebody else. I mean, I didn't know what to say.

"Finally, somebody yelled, 'Turn off the television.' But I just stood there in shock. I can't believe there's somebody that would actually do that to soldiers."

Albert Snyder filed a federal lawsuit against the church, and a jury awarded him nearly $11 million dollars for invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. But the U.S. Court of Appeals overturned the verdict on the grounds that the church's First Amendment right to free expression must be protected.

Adding insult to injury, the court also ruled that Snyder would have to pay $16,500 to church members, to defray what they spent to defend themselves in court.

It was a tough blow for the father, who was already trying to raise the funds needed to appeal the Court of Appeals verdict to the U.S. Supreme Court.

On Tuesday's The O'Reilly Factor, however, the host stepped forward.

"That is an outrage," he said. "I will pay Mr. Snyder's obligation. I am not going to let this injustice stand."

    Hat Tip Not Intimidated

Bill O'Reilly, you are a patriot.

I called Sean E. Summers law offices this morning and asked how we can help. They already set up this website- http://www.matthewsnyder.org/.
