  • Obama's kin: President George W. Bush, Howard Dean & European blue bloods

Obama's family owned slaves, practiced Islam and polygamy

Black Pastor: "Obama supports wholesale slaughter" of African-Americans"

    Credit for Art: Illinois Review

Democrat Sen. Barack Hussein Obama is a complicated man. The family tree of the presidential hopeful includes Republican President George W. Bush, former Ku Klux Klan leader Senator Robert Byrd, and other white folks who owned slaves.

On the African side of his family, Obama's family includes polygamists and Muslims, but no slaves. Yet he hopes to connect with African-Americans whose votes he needs to become president.

The genealogist who exposed that Obama's ancestry includes slave owners also found that he is distantly related to President Bush and the president of the Mormon Church. The fact that Obama is a "Bushie" by blood, if widely disseminated - which is highly unlikely due to the mainstream media's love affair with Obama - might hurt Obama's candidacy with liberals more than his past as a Muslim student, his family's ownership of slaves, and his father's and grandfather's polygamy.

Obama's past, like many whose kin hail from the south, includes slavery. But unlike thousands of African-Americans, Obama is not a descendant of a slave, but the descendant of slave owners. The Illinois Senator, whose mother is white and father is black, has other notorious distant relatives .

"None of Mr. Obama's ancestors lived under slavery in North America," wrote William Addams Reitwiesner, the genealogist who also works for the U.S. Library of Congress. Reitwiesner researched Obama's ancestry among others' in the government. In what he calls a "first draft" of his work , he revealed that Obama's maternal family owned slaves.

"The first of Mr. Obama's paternal ancestors to leave Kenya was Mr. Obama's own father, who left in the mid-20th century, about 100 years after slavery had been abolished in the United States."

Reitwiesner read Obama's autobiography, "Dreams from my Father," and found inaccuracies. Among them:

    • "Mr. Obama's "grandmother", whom he visited at Nyangoma-Kogelo, Kenya, as recently as August 2006, is actually his step-grandmother, a different one of the several polygamous wives of his grandfather Onyango," the genealogical research shows."
    • In Dreams, p. 13, Mr. Obama says that "a distant ancestor" of hers "had indeed been a full-blooded Cherokee". No evidence has been found to support this claim."

Reitwiesner's research, some of which was double-checked by mainstream media such as the Baltimore Sun , found that Obama's relatives include not only President Bush and Vice President Cheney, but acto Christopher Reeve, FOX News anchor Brit Hume, writer John Steinbeck and former Democrat presidential hopeful Howard Dean.

Britain's Daily Mail last week wrote an in-depth story about Obama's claims versus the newspaper's discoveries about Obama's background:

    • "Yet an investigation by The Mail on Sunday has revealed that, for all Mr. Obama's reputation for straight talking and the compelling narrative of his recollections, they are largely myth.
    • We have discovered that his father was not just a deeply flawed individual but also an abusive bigamist and an egomaniac, whose life was ruined not by racism or corruption but his own weaknesses.
    • And, devastatingly, the testimony has come from Mr. Obama's own relatives and family friends.
    • Charismatic and with movie-star looks, Barack Obama Jnr has managed to steal some of Hillary Clinton's most influential supporters in the two weeks since he entered the U.S. presidential race."

Powerful black religious leaders oppose Obama

Obama and Clinton on Sunday appeared in Southern churches on the anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Ala., in hopes of gaining support in the African-American community. Both presidential wannabes unabashedly pandered to black churchgoers with Clinton taking on a fake southern accent and Obama's speech quickly morphing into an unfamiliar black drawl.

Rubbing elbows with the folks "down South" could win them some votes, but the evangelical black community may not be so fast to bite.

Pastor Clenard H. Childress, Jr., an African-American pastor who also serves as leader of the largest black pro-life group in America, said Obama is a danger to the black community because of his unflinching support for abortion at any time during pregnancy.

"Abortion is black genocide," the Rev. Childress said . "Each day, 1,452 African Americans are murdered by abortion. 4,000 children over all. There have been over 15 million African-American children dismembered in the womb by the abortion holocaust and as many women victimized. Sen. Obama supports the wholesale slaughter of our own community by abortion."

"All polling shows that African Americans are pro-life," the Rev. Childress said. "All polling shows that they are not in agreement with same-sex ‘marriage.'"

Childress, director for Christians for Social Justice, also argues that Obama's votes for same-sex unions are a threat to African-Americans.

"African Americans make up 12 percent of the population but account for over 50 percent of all new cases of HIV. Now, with that said, 60 percent of all new AIDS cases in America will be the result of the violation of Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:27 (men having sex with men). If he were to become president of the United States, Sen. Obama's support of homosexual unions would pose a real health threat to African-Americans."

A national poll conducted by the Los Angeles Times in March 2001 found that 56 percent of African-Americans oppose most abortions compared to 54 percent of Caucasians. About 20 percent of blacks would make no exceptions, compared to the 11 percent of the Caucasian population. Younger blacks may feel differently these days, thanks to folks like Obama who support the abortion industry and don't flinch with any thought of ending a life as it begins. That is part of Childress' argument.
Rev. Childress is not a lone voice screaming about black genocide. He has deep credentials in politics and religion, and is a beloved and respected spiritual leader. Childress criticizes Obama not only for his pro-abortion rights votes, but the fact that Obama calls himself an African-American. Democrat Hillary Clinton's position for abortion is no less galling, but she does not hail from the proud black heritage Obama claims. The abortion argument is especially important to the black community because of its disproportionate effect on its population. It is the nexus between Obama's blackness and his radical abortion position that riles the reverend.

Planned Parenthood, one of the nation's most forceful advocates for abortion-rights, celebrates Obama's shameless votes supporting all forms of abortion. The group went so far as to pay for a published "Valentine" for Obama, encouraging others to send the senator a love note.

Is Obama black enough to overcome his family's ownership of slaves?

Unlike previous black presidential contenders, the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, Obama has not locked up the black vote that is essential for his success. His No. 1 rival, Democrat Hillary Clinton, was far and away the favorite among blacks in early polls. And although a new poll shows Obama, 45, gaining major ground with blacks, he doesn't have the percentages he'll need to stifle the virile Clinton-spin machine.

"In December and January Post-ABC News polls, Clinton led Obama among African-Americans by 60 percent to 20 percent. In the new poll, Obama held a narrow advantage among blacks, 44 percent to 33 percent. The shift came despite four in five blacks having a favorable impression of the New York senator," according to the Washington Post online edition.

Good looks, a comfortable speaking manner, and relative political anonymity brought Obama to an early peak. Standing between Obama and his goal are black critics, former President Bill Clinton's popularity with blacks, Obama's radical votes supporting late-term abortions, and votes against protecting babies born after a failed abortion, and, finally, his triangulation about his past as a Muslim student. Even his current affiliation with a controversial black church could raise hackles with some voters.

"Barack Obama might not be considered a black candidate for traditional black voters, given their history," said Ronald Walters, director of the African-American Leadership Institute at the University of Maryland. "Obama has talked about America wanting a new kind of leadership. What is he talking about? He hasn't defined that sufficiently."

Salon.com , a leftwing Web site, posted an article in January that questioned Obama's black roots, according to the Baltimore Sun .:

Author and essayist Debra J. Dickerson wrote in a January salon.com article that she had previously refrained from opining about the senator because "I didn't have the heart (or the stomach) to point out the obvious: Obama isn't black."

" 'Black,' in our political and social reality, means those descended from West African slaves," Dickerson said.

Democratic candidates rely heavily on the black vote for elections. Some claim that Democrats take the black vote for granted, though some of that easy-street attitude was adjusted when President George W. Bush made slight inroads with African-Americans. In the 2000 election, 90 percent of African-Americans voted for Al Gore, providing 20 percent of his overall support. Gore could not have won the popular vote in 2000 without the black vote. The same is true for the 2008 Democrat contender.

Obama identifies with his black heritage and embraces the label of African-American, though he is as much white as black. And he doesn't share the enslaved heritage of many who live in the United States. But his "Christian" church - which celebrates a 10-point blueprint for African superiority - may appeal to some more radical blacks.

Last week, I reported on Obama's Afrocentric church, which fueled discussion in the new media about Obama's church and brand of Christianity. He was "saved" when brought into the Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago, which has a "congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA," according to its Web site .

"We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization," the Trinity United Church of Christ Web site says.

The Web site for the Trinity United Church of Christ offers for sale books with titles such as "The Black Christ," "Bad Boys of the Bible," "African Power," and "Breaking the Chains of Psychological Slavery: Consequences for blacks and whites of picturing God as a Caucasian." The church also sells Obama's best-selling books, as well as other more mainstream titles.

After a commitment to God, Trinity United Church of Christ members follow 11 more "precepts and covenantal statements, including: "Commitment to the Black Community", and "Commitment to the Black Family."

Unlike evangelical black churches - whose history reaches back to the very days that African-Americans were first forced to the shores of the United States as slaves - Obama's church appears to put blacks ahead of other non-black Christians"

We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:

    Commitment to God

    Commitment to the Black Community

    Commitment to the Black Family

Dedication to the Pursuit of Education

Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence

Adherence to the Black Work Ethic

    Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect

Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"

Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community

Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions

Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System

Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

    1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
    2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
    3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
    4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
    5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
    6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
    7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
    8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
    9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
10.A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

Sen. Barack Obama (above); his father Barack Obama Sr. (below)

Obama was born to a Muslim African man and a white American woman. His father - a heavy-drinking polygamist - lost his Muslim roots when he embraced atheism. But he and his wife had already given Barack the proud Muslim name, Hussein. Barrack Hussein Obama has said that Hussein is an African name, but in fact it is a common Muslim name. That Obama misrepresents his past is a problem with his candidacy. As much as the mainstream media have propped him up as a rock star with pure intents, Obama's veiled past is catching up with him.

America is in a war with radical Muslims and Obama's past complicates things. Religion does matter, as Republican Mitt Romney knows. American voters are ready for a woman or black president, but religion is still a touchy subject. President John Kennedy had to break the Catholic barrier, but Romney is facing an avalanche of preconceived ideas about Mormonism, such as the haunting and immoral practice of polygamy as part of its roots. Romney and most Mormons no longer follow their forefathers in polygamy and find it deplorable and sexist. But the media have done a good job of smearing Romney with the "polygamist" brush, while ignoring Obama's father's polygamy and his own family's links to the Mormon religion.

In June 2006, The Los Angeles Times and Bloomberg News conducted a national poll that found 37 percent of voters said they would not vote for a Mormon for president. Imagine a question about a converted Muslim. Obama would not have gained a serious foothold if the mainstream media had told the truth about his past.

The Feb. 22-25 Washington Post-ABC poll showed a slight improvement for Mormons. Three in 10 now say they would be less likely to support a Mormon candidate. The poll asked nothing about an African-American candidate with Muslim roots.

"He comes from a father who was a Muslim," said civil rights author and National Public Radio (NPR) host Juan Williams , who is black. "I mean, I think that given we're at war with Muslim extremists, that presents a problem."

Americans' discomfort with various religions has not eased enough to ensure a free pass for Obama's brand of Christianity and his family's past with Islam. He is safe as a black candidate, because Americans say they would support either a woman or an African-American as president. But what about a person who has misrepresented himself to America about such simple things as his family's economic status and his religious upbringing?

An Insight story about Obama's education in Islam proved controversial. Some mainstream journalists took their best shot at discrediting the story, but the reporting by CNN was weak. A journalist visited the school more than 35 years after Obama attended it and spoke with one former classmate, a friend, who said the school was not a Muslim school.

But Obama himself claims in his books that he attended Muslim school, but was not exposed to Wahhabism, the extreme form of Islam followed by the 9/11 highjackers. Insight stood by its story, but leftists and the mainstream media continue to prop up Obama with denials and vicious, libelous attacks on his critics.

But will black voters pull the lever for a candidate whose past is in question? Whose own stories don't jibe with the facts? Whose slave-owning family clashes with his pretense as an African-American who stands against their conservative family roots? The answers to these questions are key factors in determining our country's next president. CAT CALL #2
    Obama Worships at Afrocentric Church
Parishioners "Pledge Allegiance to all Black leadership . . ."

"Obama's progressivism, however, leads him to conclusions that are morally untenable, if not reprehensible, to Evangelicals and other traditionalist Christians," The Rev. Rob Schenck.

"In other words, if we don't reach out to evangelical Christians and other religious Americans and tell them what we stand for, then the Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons and Alan Keyeses will continue to hold sway," Sen. Barack Obama said.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., worships in an "unashamedly Black" church with covenants and a "vision" that include a "disavowal of the pursuit of "middleclassness" and a pledge of allegiance to "all black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System."

The Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago has a "congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA," according to its Web site .

The Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. became pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ on March 1, 1972, and brought Obama into his brand of Christianity. Rev. Wright has written many books and studied Theology at several universities. He leads a church with more than 80 ministries that range from music to outreach to the poor.

While much has been made of Obama's early education in Islam and his Muslim roots, his Christian conversion into a church that is self-described as Afrocentric has faced little public scrutiny. Some black pastors and evangelical leaders have condemned Obama, who hopes to win the Democrat nomination for the 2008 presidential race.

Following Obama's announcement to enter the presidential race, the Rev. Rob Schenck, president of the National Clergy Council, said Obama's Christianity is "woefully deficient."

The Rev. Schenck's comments in full:

    • "Barack Obama began his presidential campaign today with the words, 'All honor and glory to God.'
    • "While all Christians should welcome the public acknowledgment of God by a serious presidential contender, such a bold pronouncement and infusion of Christian faith into his campaign will require much of Mr. Obama.
    • "Jesus Christ said by what measure we judge others, we will be judged. By injecting his faith so directly into his campaign, Mr. Obama has invited an examination and debate focused on his faith. Sadly, we will find Mr. Obama's Christianity woefully deficient."

After a commitment to God, Trinity United Church of Christ members follow 11 more "precepts and covenantal statements, including: "Commitment to the Black Community", and "Commitment to the Black Family".

The liberal teachings of Obama's church may turn away black evangelicals, a large voting bloc for Democrats running for national office. Sen. Obama has called for reaching out to evangelicals and understands the necessity for him to gain their votes.

The Rev. Schenck warned in a Dec. 8, 2006, article, Barack Obama: Sheep or Goat, that Obama's brand of Christianity would turn away evangelicals.

"Obama's progressivism, however, leads him to conclusions that are morally untenable, if not reprehensible, to Evangelicals and other traditionalist Christians," Schenck wrote.

Schenck warned evangelical Christians to watch out for Obama's arrival in their churches and to look at his church's Afrocentric beliefs with a skeptic's eye.

"Obama will also likely need to explain why his mentor, Pastor Wright, unapologetically uses language that insults millions of Americans, many of whom are Evangelicals. In one interview, Wright called those of us who voted for George Bush "stupid," Schenck wrote .

  • Mike Stark's Blogos-FEAR

Mike Stark, who hopes to become a lawyer, holding a sign displaying his deep thinking

Name: W. Michael Stark, aka Mike Stark
Occupation: Student, political clown, self-described "citizen journalist," talk radio wannabe
Best known for: Stalking Sen. George Allen; befriending an anonymous computer-phile named after a Star Trek character; working for the bankrupt Air America radio network
Characteristics: Twisting the truth; sexist language; guerilla politics; whining; cursing like a rabid leftist using medical marijuana
Quotes: "A couple of $100 million dollar lawsuits might open up a discovery process that would lead to finding out who, exactly, ordered the f...ing garbage that allows these police state tactics to go on ."

"If that isn't a clear-cut case of prosecutorial abuse, WHAT THE F... IS? Are they going to get away with it? "

A couple weeks ago, W. Michael Stark appeared on CNN's "Reliable Sources," as a representative of leftist bloggers. Stark fancies himself as a "citizen journalist," so he must have been tickled to get a seat on a legitimate show discussing real journalism.

As a professional journalist for almost 20 years, Stark's appearance sickened me. This guy's ethics couldn't get him a gig writing press releases for Osama bin Laden and here he was on a national show allegedly about legitimate journalism. Either the host had a slow news day, or my profession has slipped into a cesspool of anemic credibility from which it may never recover.

Luckily, Stark was on his best behavior during the appearance and washed out his potty mouth that he regularly displays on radical blogs such as DailyKos. For example, he wrote one ditty titled, "By the F***ing Way take these RNC F***ers down."

I'm no prude and can curse with the best of them. But I separate my sometimes-bawdy language from my writing, though so-called men like Stark test my will power.

I chose Stark as my debut subject for The Cat Call because he is what is wrong with politics. He has all of the attributes of gutter-gang wannabe political players who turn Americans away on Election Day. And he is liberal - a perfect messiah for the socialist bunch who hate America because it is strong, rich, righteous and right.

Stark, by his very appearance on Reliable Sources, represents the dreams of Joe and Jane Liberal. It gives a pittance of credibility to Stark and the left who specialize in insurgent tactics that are weak on facts. They deserve no such recognition. There are credible liberal bloggers who could have filled Stark's seat.

Stark represents the worst in human behavior and blogging. During his debate on Reliable Sources, Stark used specious arguments to defend his buddy, an anonymous Star Trek-obsessed blogger, Spocko, who used out-of-context quotes from KSFO radio talent in an effort to turn away advertisers and, thus, squelch the 1st Amendment Rights of the radio personalities. This is a classic liberal move: The rights under the Constitution only apply to them, no matter how much they lie, cheat, distort, attack and offend others' rights.

So who is this guy? Well, I've done lots of research and it should make Howard Kurtz blush that he ever gave this guy airtime. I contacted CNN for a comment on Stark's appearance from Kurtz. Despite Kurtz's admonishment of KSFO and ABC for not responding to him for comment on Spocko-gate, he failed to answer my written questions or contact me for comment on this article.

"You two continue this off the air. I want to give you my take, which is, I don't like boycotts, but, you know, tough luck. It's fair game when you're in the media business for critics to talk about what's on your air," Kurtz told Stark and Dan Riehl, a more conservative blogger who countered Stark's arguments. " And ABC Radio should not be saying no comment. ABC is in the communications business. They ought to have some kind of comment about what they did."

The transcript of Stark's appearance can be found here:

For the record, my research comes from public records that are easily accessed by anybody who cares. And we all should care because Stark and his type are poisoning our society with their brand of hate and twisted politics. Through their hijinks on the Internet and backing from sugar daddies such as billionaire left-winger George Soros, the Starks of the world are taking ground from more traditional and rational Democrats, such as Sen. Joe Lieberman, who in 2000 was the Democrats choice for vice president. While their voices should be heard like every other legal American - and bloggers are an important piece of the political puzzle - the Stark-ites should not control the political process with their hate-spewing rhetoric that comes from the hottest corners of hell. Yet that is their intent.

It is clear from their blogging and actions that Stark and others want to mute the conservative voice. Spocko took snippets of KSFO radio commentary out of context then sent it to KSFO advertisers to silence Melanie Morgan, Lee Rodgers and Brian Sussman. Stark piled on and made sure that the comments were spread around the blogosphere, but denied he wanted to infringe on the radio talents' First Amendment rights. Well, what else do you want to call it? A radio business can't survive without advertising dollars, as liberal Air America - for which Stark has worked - well knows. It's kind of like saying that an abortion doesn't end a life. No advertising, no radio show, no conservative voice on KSFO.

Included in Spocko's snippets was a piece that accused KSFO's Officer Vic of using a curse word (the s-word) while introducing an advertisement. But listening to the entire quote, it is clear that Spocko either misunderstood the words or flat-out lied. Even if somebody had used "sh.t" on the air, would this really offend the senses of Stark and his buddies? Stark's blog is littered with foul words and phrases, as are many blogs. It's almost as if Stark uses Hustler magazine for a dictionary. Stark's tenure as a blogger is miniscule when compared to the time Lee Rodgers, Melanie Morgan and Officer Vic have had their show. Yet Stark outpaces the rank-language scale like Tiger Woods whips any comers.

The danger of Spocko-gate is that Stark and others who participated in the attack of the First Amendment got national media attention for their behavior. KSFO is a conservative radio voice in the liberal-dominated media of the Bay Area, which is likely the reason Spocko and his buddy Stark went after them. Without KSFO, the airwaves in San Francisco are void of conservative comment. Perhaps this is a test case for other markets. If Stark and others can take down their Goliath, they can move on to other markets and replicate the Spocko-scheme.

    Good girl, bad woman

Stark's free speech triangulation - a trait that does not exist with true journalists and even citizen journalists - allows him to differentiate between his hate speech - which he excuses as a personality flaw that comes with being a prince in the dark corners of the blogosphere.

Stark gets his kicks by calling women names, stalking political opponents,
cursing, bragging and calling nationally syndicated conservative radio talk shows.

He reserves his misogyny for conservative women such as talk show host Tammy Bruce, a Democrat who doesn't march in lockstep with Stark's so-called "progressive" ilk. He called her a "two-bit whore". Liberal women such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, do not draw Stark's wrath. It seems they can do no wrong as long as they're paddling in his boat.

When a blogger scolded Stark for calling Bruce names, he used his favorite defense: I'm a former Marine.

"mike, you should be better than that "2 bit whore" comment, unless you actually know the woman's sexual activities (only thing i read is that she is gay). shouldn't stoop to derogatory sexist name calling just cause of her actions. you are trying to expose her inadequecies, (sic) not your own."

    Stark did not repent

"I was speaking in my capacity as a Marine... we have an instinctive capacity for sensing these things. More seriously, I'm a blogger - with a personality and all the credits and debits that come with it. I think this woman is a big ol' festering sore on humanity. Alternatively, I could call her a two-bit whore..." (though a legit argument could be made that I'm insulting two-bit whores - and for that i'd be genuinely sorry)

    Underdog or overpaid?

The controversy over the leftist bloggers, Spocko, and KSFO, revved the leftwing blogosphere, with Stark leading the rabid pack. Bloggers and Stark tried to twist their attempts at violating others First Amendment rights by painting a picture of a David and Goliath fight.

Stark and others feigned innocence - "oh my virgin ears" - and said KSFO's broadcasts were offensive. Meanwhile, Stark's own blog posts snuff talk.

Piling on like thugs, a blogger on Stark's site viciously announces that Bruce's friends want her killed, then makes a homophobic reference to Bruce, who is lesbian. Stark didn't see fit to edit the hateful language.

"its (sic) rather sad...she no longer has her old friends and those she thinks of as friends would love to see her burned at the stake as a dyke."

Yet Stark played the innocent boy on the block, playing up to Kurtz's offering that a big bad corporation was trying to silence the choir boy bloggers.

"Is this, the way ABC and the parent company reacted, is this a big corporation trying to intimidate bloggers?" Kurtz asked Stark during his Jan. 21, 2007, appearance.

"Oh, it's absolutely a big corporation trying to intimidate bloggers," Stark replied.

Don't cry for Stark, Spocko and the other little bloggers who fight dirty in "blogswarms" that are like a gang of thugs kicking a kid on a playground. Big-money liberals who like the gang warfare are paying the way for anointed bloggers, such as Stark.

This week Stark announced that he will hand out thousands of dollars to "progressive" bloggers as the new money man for BlogPac.com. Stark announced his new job in a blog entry entitled, "My new job kicks a**."

The gist of his position, director of activism, will be handing out cash to leftist bloggers who meet his criteria, whatever that is. I can imagine the questions for applicants, "So how many conservatives have you heckled lately? Can you cuss like Satan's son?"

Stark says he'll ask for suggestions of others when he hands out the monthly cash of $1,750. But it isn't so much the amount of money or even Stark's power over it that's a problem. He is hooked up with big-name liberal activists, such as Chris Bowers who claims netroot organizations donated $300 million to liberal politicians in the 2003-04-election cycle. This amount was one-third of the money that went to Democratic campaign consultants that year, Bowers wrote in a DailyKos blog, Jan. 25.

The moral of this story is that middle America and conservatives cannot ignore Stark, Spocko, and others who seek fame and power by undermining legitimate conservative voices. Stark and his ilk have the money and backing of more credible folks who will use them to do the dirty work of leftist Democrats. That is the danger of Mike Stark's Blogos-Fear.
  • American Mourning: The story behind Newsweek's "Voices of the Fallen"

Casey Sheehan (left) died April 4, 2004, in Sadr City. His good friend Justin Johnson (right) was murdered by terrorists in the same Iraqi slum six days later.

Jan Johnson's two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter can't wait for the family's annual Easter egg hunt. But the mere thought of it racks Jan with unbearable pain and nausea.

The former Christian missionary wants to joyfully celebrate Jesus's resurrection. Instead, thoughts of an explosion that killed her son in Iraq haunt and sicken her. Even before she saw the Army vehicle at her home on Easter Sunday three years ago, Jan knew her boy, Justin, was dead.

Today the waves of rattled nerves that knocked her soul into humanity's darkest despair return with the approach of Easter.

"Joleen asked me if I wanted to watch Justine hunt for eggs," Jan said, her voice shattered by a broken heart. "It's just too hard."

This week, Newsweek magazine published letters and e-mails from troops who have died in the Iraq war in an issue titled "Voices of the Fallen." Jan and Joe Johnson gave the magazine permission to print a photo of Justin, taken just before he died, and an e-mail he had sent home. The e-mail was first printed in American Mourning: A Story of Two Families; Touched by War—Torn by Beliefs.

American Mourning, which I co-wrote with Melanie Morgan, tells the story of two Army buddies who died six days apart in Iraq. Terrorists in the slum of Sadr City killed Justin Johnson and his friend Casey Sheehan. After their deaths, the Johnson and Sheehan families took opposite courses as they worked through the grief that fogged every second they breathed.

Jan gave Newsweek the April 8, 2004, e-mail and photograph of her beloved son because she doesn't want the world to forget about the soldiers who died, or about those who are still fighting for America. The magazine printed only part of Justin's e-mail, which is here in its entirety:

"A big battle broke out and we were in the middle of it. We had to escort wounded soldiers to another base and we were getting shot at. My front right tire got shot out . . . after our tire got fixed, on the way back to base, we got ambushed," Justin wrote. "They missed my truck but hit the one behind me. That night we lost 10 soldiers and 49 got wounded. I knew two of the ones that died.

"The next night we took a wrong turn and ended up in the middle of Sadr City, around midnight," Justin continued. "We had to drive through burning roadblocks, ram cars to get them out of our way and do about 60 mph to get out alive. We were informed that it is no longer a peacekeeping mission, no it is war again!

"You could never know what it is like unless you are here. The feeling you get when 10 bullets zip by your head. It is a feeling like no other! OK, I know you don't want to know all that stuff because it makes you worry. I just wanted to let you know that I was OK."

The single e-mail tells little of the story behind Justin, Casey, or the others who died during Holy Week, 2004. Justin's e-mail refers to the soldiers killed on Palm Sunday, which now is called Black Sunday by the troops who know the hell Sadr's army unleashed on the Americans who came to help them. Casey Sheehan, only twenty-four years old, died that day after a terrorist's bullet ripped through his skull.

Casey's mother, Cindy Sheehan, had a mother's sense that something horrible had happened to her oldest son. When she returned from a walk with her dogs on April 4, 2004, she saw the Army vehicle. Inside her home, the sorrowful soldiers told Cindy, who collapsed in a crushing pain that would not leave her.

Justin mourned his buddy but had to keep his senses sharp. He was a gunner on a Humvee, a perfect target for snipers. Justin's job was to watch out for enemies and sweep for roadside bombs that terrorists hid inside rotted animal carcasses, mounds of dirt, or even dead bodies.

During the precious time he had on a computer, Justin logged on to a Web site dedicated to fallen soldiers. He needed to say a final goodbye to Casey, whom he had met at Fort Hood and had loved like a brother.

"My name is Spc. Justin Johnson of the 1-82 arty battalion. Casey was a great friend of mine and is missed by us. All I wanted to say he is in my heart all the time."

It was the last thing Justin ever wrote.

Easter Sunday, 2004. The soldiers told Jan that Justin died after a roadside bomb hit his Humvee. Their words and the stifling numbness are forever tattooed on Jan's soul.

Sometimes grief mutes a person as if Death itself has grabbed her windpipe. Others search for ways to mask the pain, tamp it down so breathing is a little bit easier. There is no right way to grieve. It is a matter of survival.

Cindy Sheehan turned her grief into activism against the war. She and other antiwar activists made a widely reported stand in front of President Bush's Crawford ranch in August 2005. Cindy wanted a second meeting with the president to ask for what noble cause her son died.

Jan and Joe knew for what cause their son died, just as Justin and Casey knew.

Justin, his older brother Joshua, and even his father Joe all signed up for the Army after terrorists used airplanes as weapons of mass destruction on September 11, 2001. They knew what others wish to ignore: radical Islam will not stop until it is obliterated or it destroys our freedom.

Casey Sheehan also knew exactly what he was doing. Before he left for Iraq, he told his grandfather that he was well trained and ready to fight. He had signed up for a second stint in the Army and knew he was going to Iraq.

Before he went to battle on the last day of his life, Casey went to Mass and had Communion. He told a chaplain on the battlefield that he was aware of the danger and knew he could die. He loved his country, God, and his family.

Both Justin and Casey were patriots, in the classical meaning of the word. They loved God and read the Bible. Casey was born and raised in California with more liberal parents than Justin's, but they shared a bond that transcended politics.

As Cindy made her political stand, Joe Johnson prepared himself for war. He hitched up with a unit that would see combat in Iraq. Joe wanted revenge against the terrorists who killed Justin, Casey, and all the innocents on September 11. He left Jan, who was still grief-sick, and took the job that had killed his son: Joe became a gunner on a Humvee.

Every day Jan prayed that she would not face another Army notification. Every night she took sleeping pills to knock herself out. While awake, she watched twenty-four-hour news channels or tried to help other families whose sons or daughters had died in the war.

"I can honestly look them in the face and say, ‘I know what you're going through,'" Jan said.

After Joe came home from war and was honorably discharged from the service, he and Jan made a historic trip to Iraq. Move America Forward, a nonprofit pro-troops organization chaired by Melanie Morgan, organized the journey for Gold Star parents so they could see firsthand what their children died for.

Joe had already spent months in Iraq, patrolling the long, dangerous roads between Iraq and Jordan. The visit in November 2006 was different.

"The Kurds were friendlier people," Joe said. "They did not feel like we were occupying their country. We met a lot of high-level people, and every one of them said they were glad that the Americans came to free them."

Jan felt a sliver of peace when she visited the country where her son died.

"These are good people there," Jan said. "It isn't all war like what you see on the TV."

Jan met with families who had suffered abuse and murder at the direction of Saddam Hussein. One woman had lost twenty-seven family members to Saddam's henchmen.

The Johnsons hope to return to Iraq to see the progress made possible by Justin, Casey, and all the men and women of our Armed Forces. The Kurds expect to erect a memorial for coalition forces who gave their lives for Iraqi freedom and to protect America.

As Easter approaches, the Johnsons pray for their surviving son, Joshua, a soldier now stationed in Afghanistan. Jan tries beating back the dark thoughts that steal into her mind. She busies herself by attending funerals as part of the Patriot Guard, a group that protects fallen troops and mourners from protesters.

Jan wears a black leather vest with a Gold Star and the combat patches of Joe, Justin, and her father. Her family and her husband's family have sent warriors to every American conflict since the Revolutionary War. Justin was the first to fall.

The Johnsons speak freely about Justin. They share his story because, they say, he belongs to America. He is one of our heroes.

An Army buddy of both Justin and Casey contacted Jan after he read the Newsweek magazine. He told Jan that Justin's words were a part of history.

    "Yeah, he is," Jan said.

  • Media Matters of bigotry, sexism and hate speech

David Brock's henchmen pass three years of spurious spewing in a campaign to silence conservatives

Three years ago, David Brock prepared to launch Media Matters for America. The former conservative and admitted liar had collected $2 million from wealthy liberals, consulted Hillary Clinton and her allies, and set out to decimate conservative media.

As Brock's nonprofit organization approached its third-year anniversary, the group had its biggest get. They taped radio personality Don Imus making racist and sexist remarks about Rutgers' University women's basketball team. Media Matters quickly sent press releases to friendly media and special interest groups.

Brock's group magnified his language in an attack that would help kill Imus's radio and TV gigs. Media Matters' henchmen pounded their chest like schoolyard bullies. Next on their list: Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter and anybody else who dares to embrace conservatism. Even those who report fair articles about conservatives face the maniacal wrath of Brock's stable of researchers and writers, a group whose majority is culled from left-leaning groups, journalists, students and former legislators' offices.

After three years of taxpayer-subsidized operation, Media Matters' credibility as a media watchdog is questionable. Its leader, Brock, is liar who strong-armed sources that didn't agree with him. While writing his mea culpa, "Blinded by the Right," Brock was hospitalized in a mental facility where he spent time in a "quiet room" and "had delusions, he thought people were trying to kill him," according to the Drudge Report.

Media Matters stars, including Brock, Eric Alterman and Ryan Chiachiere, are hypocrites who have used the very sexist, bigoted and racist language for which they crucify others, including Imus. They appear to care more about taking out the kneecaps of conservatives than it is in the truth or accuracy in media. Media Matters allows bigoted posts on its web site – as long as they are directed toward conservatives.

Brock spoke with the New York Times three years ago as he launched Media Matters, recognizing that critics would come after him because he is a confessed liar and fabricator, usually a death knell for journalists. Like reformed smokers who can't tolerate cigarette smoke, Brock could no longer stomach conservatives and struck with a vengeance.

Perhaps Media Matters' most publicized assault, aside from the April attack on Imus, started when Alterman sniped Time journalist John Cloud, who wrote an April 17, 2005, article about conservative pundit and best-selling author Ann Coulter titled "Ms. Right."

"Time's cover story/whitewash of Ann Coulter, here, will make it impossible for serious people to accept what the magazine reports at face-value ever again," Alterman wrote. "It is as if Time had contracted a journalistic venereal disease from Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly and is now seeking to lower itself to their level in pursuit of their ideologically-obsessed audiences."

I read every word of Cloud's piece several times. I have worked many years as a daily editor. I know the difference between a puff piece, a hit piece, news, opinion and good journalism. I rated each paragraph of the cover article and found that 82 percent of the graphs were neutral, 17 percent negative and 1 percent positive toward Coulter. Cloud's work was well reported, fair and revealing.

Cloud defended his work against Alterman's irrational attack. He told the Columbia Journalism Review's daily weblog that Alterman and Coulter "are in the same bunch. They also, by the way, use the same language."

Media Matters bristled at Cloud's words, saying Alterman never used language comparable to Coulter – as if that is a sin.

"That's a bizarre accusation; as far as we know, Alterman, who has written a number of critically acclaimed books, has never lamented that the New York Times building wasn't blown up or suggested that a sitting president should be assassinated. He has never slurred Muslims or women or disabled Vietnam veterans."

Media Matters either doesn't fact-check its own statements, or it lives by the liberal-good-conservative-bad double standard. The group is likely guilty on both counts. Alterman, Brock and Chiachiere may not slur radical Muslims, America's enemies in the War on Terror, but they have no problem smearing Jews, Republicans, straight white men and conservative women. By their standards, a real woman can't be conservative.

Perhaps Alterman has not lamented "that the New York Times building wasn't blown up." But he did bellyache that the terrorists who killed U.S. sailors on the USS. Cole in 2000 didn't also blow up the Republican headquarters.

Alterman's "justice in the world" includes the language Media Matters claims he would never use:

"I got a call one day from a Republican Party functionary telling me that Hillary Clinton supported a Palestinian state and took money from groups that supported terrorist organizations "like the one that just blew up the USS Cole. I told the sorry sonofabitch that like Israel's Prime Minister, I, too, support a Palestinian state. And, if there was any justice in the world, Hillary's "terrorist" friends would blow up Republican headquarters while we were still on the phone, so I could enjoy hearing the explosion," Alterman wrote in the Nov. 9, 2000, issue of The Nation.

And women? Media Matters has denigrated so many women the group should be called Media Misogynists. Alterman has a rap sheet longer than the snake of Eden when it comes to slurring women. Of course, he reserves his vitriol for conservative women.

Alterman's slurs include this from a Nov. 8, 1999 piece in The Nation:

"Remember the MSNBC blondes? Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter and Jennifer Grossman? The three picture-perfect pundettes with one opinion among them are now oh so ten minutes ago," Alterman wrote.

Alterman attacked the three blonde women because they are conservative. He used the blonde stereotype. Blonde equals dumb, right?

How about anti-Semitism? The cub reporter who busted Imus, Chiachiere, cohosts a website that exploits the worst stereotypes of Jews and Italians: "Republicans . . . or the Mafia: Helping you make sense of today's GOP."

On the left side of the site is a picture of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff in a fedora. Opposite is a shot of the fictional Mafia Don Corleone with a similar hat.

The site's introduction stereotypes of Italians as mobsters and Jews as the "new mafia." "Casinos! Bribes! Hitmen! Is this Season 5 of The Sopranos? No, it's just another day in the life of today's Republican party," the site reports.

Then there's Brock, who claims he lied about liberals when he acted conservative. But now that he's come out of the closet as a liberal, he's a truth teller without a scintilla of bigotry. Right? Apparently not.

MSNBC pundit Tucker Carlson called Brock out for lying about him in Brock's coming-out book, and for attacking David Horowitz as anti-gay without any verification. And a writer from the leftist Salon.com nailed Brock for fabrications. Brock admitted that he had misreported an issue in his book.

I have uncovered instance after instance of sexism, bigotry and distortions by Brock, Alterman and others at Media Matters. But the point is made.

During its three years of existence, Media Matters has proven to be a tool of the left to silence conservatives. Its proprietors are careless and cannot be trusted to tell the truth. They ignore the Rosie O'Donnells of the left who slander minorities, but attempt to disembowel conservatives for using less offensive language.

Media Matters for America's trail of deceit, disregard for the truth and utter blindness when the cancer of bigotry has poisoned its own should guarantee failure. But the money will pour in from the corrupt George Soroses of society because Brock and his nonprofit speak their language. Liberal is good, Israel is a disease, Christians are dangerous, and America's First Amendment was written for them and only them.

  • MSNBC Plays Good-Cop, Bad-Cop with debates

Hardball's Matthews Smears GOP Candidates with Bogeymen and Offers Nightmare of Clinton resurrection

If the historical Lincoln-Douglas debates of 1858 set the gold standard for campaign face-offs, last week's Republican chat-fest looked like mass assisted suicide.

Blame it on MSNBC's biased presentation and its ringleader, Chris Matthews. Matthews fired loaded questions at the 10 GOP candidates like a carnie barker at a penny toss. He set them up with soundbites that will help his friends on the left and attacked the Republican frontrunners with relentless follow-ups that the Democrat field did not endure under Democratic moderator Brian Williams.

Sitting on the sidelines for debate commentary was the fairest of them all, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, whose credentials as a political journalist rate up there with Rosie O'Donnell's.

In the end, we learned nothing new from the candidates and affirmed that MSNBC constructed its debate formats to position Democrats as good and Republicans as really, really bad.

I watched the debate live, and then printed out transcripts of the Democrat and Republican events, both broadcast by MSNBC. I read each and dissected the so-called debates. The results show that MSNBC was much more fair to the Democrat candidates then the Republicans.

The Democrat debate transcripts ran 31 printed pages and the Republican's was 41. Part of the difference comes from the different styles of the moderators. Williams with the Democrats was more objective with fewer follow-up questions. Democrat candidates answered a total of 4 follow-up questions.

Republicans answered 22 follow-up questions from Matthews, known for his rat-a-tat, gotcha style of questioning. Matthews' biggest push was on former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, needling him to describe in detail his well-known pro-choice position on abortion. Giuliani answered six follow-ups, Sen. John McCain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney each answered four.

One might argue that Matthews was just trying to get specifics from the top runners. But if that were MSNBC's agenda, then why would Sen. Hillary Clinton get no follow-up questions from Williams? Sen. Barack Obama answered two, one of which was aimed at the Obama family's attempts to better the environment.

"We've also been working to install lightbulbs that last longer and save energy," Obama said, in part.

Contrast that with Matthews' focus on questions surrounding Romney's Mormon religion, which has been a weakness in his candidacy, according to polls, and his attempts to link Scooter Libby and Karl Rove to the candidates. And, of course, we can't overlook the when-did-you-stop-beating-your-wife question.

"What's with your party and all this corruption," Matthews asked Sen. Sam Brownback. It was as if he wanted to trot out conservative bogeymen to scare voters already brainwashed by the likes of Olbermann.

No surprise, really. Red flags flew high about the Republican debate before Matthews' fired his first volley. The Democrats' moderator was Williams, a distinguished broadcast journalist who at least tries to appear as an objective newsman. The Republicans somehow drew the short straw and got Matthews, whose resume as a liberal political operative includes writing speeches for former President Jimmy Carter and working for Democrat House Speaker Tip O'Neill and two Democrat senators.

Before MSNBC assigned Matthews to serve as moderator, executives should have checked his moderation. A month before the GOP debate, Matthews, on his show "Hardball," went after Romney because he raised $23 million during the first reporting period, the tops in the GOP race.

Matthews said, in part, ". . .here we are we're going around killing people around the world to spread democracy, and what are we spreading? A form of government based on how much money you can raise from rich people, mainly."

And just to enforce the rich Republican conspiracy, Matthews continued later " . . . it seems to me that Romney who is running about 3 percent in the polls only has rich people behind him because if you look at the amount of money he's raised compared to the kind of support he has in the polls per capita it looks like they're all loaded."

During that discussion on April 3, Matthews did not criticize Hillary Clinton's $36 million war chest. He did not say she was getting money from only rich people. Matthews, who generally is not a Clinton cheerleader, employed class warfare to paint Romney as a rich boy who's just trying to buy himself a slot as commander in chief.

But Matthews' liberal credentials are anemic next to Olbermann's, whose biased, colorful and sometimes profane antics belie his posing as a fair commentator on presidential politics. Even the liberal Associated Press wrote a story on the irony that Olbermann would have an A-ticket to comment on MSNBC's debates.

"In an angry commentary on April 25, Olbermann accused Rudolph Giuliani of using the language of Osama bin Laden with "the same chilling nonchalance of the madman" to argue that Republicans would keep Americans safer than Democrats from terror," AP's May 4 article began.

Guiliani campaign rightfully contacted NBC over its concerns about Olbermann's high-profile position in the debate broadcast. But NBC News Senior Vice president Phil Griffin told the AP that the former sports broadcaster "knows to leave his opinions at home when he anchors events.

"Keith's an adult," Griffin said. "He can tell when it's appropriate to express himself in a commentary and when to be a journalist. That's one of his strengths. He knows exactly the tone and his role when he's doing anything."

Mr. Griffin needs to reconsider his statements. Olbermann has not only personally attacked many of the GOP candidates, he does not act like an adult when it comes to criticism of his work or opinions. And appropriate expressions are not Olbermann's strong suit.

Responding to hate mail, which rolls into most high-profile commentators, Olbermann has cursed and demeaned his critics with such thoughtful comments as, "Given how far you are from knowing your (expletive) from your elbow about my industry, you couldn't be stupider, wronger, or dumber," and "Go (expletive) your mother."

Not quite the response one would expect from a commentator of a presidential debate. But that is exactly the point. The MSNBC "debate" ignored the strong issues of the Republican contenders while highlighting their weaknesses. The Republicans fell right in place and allowed the puppeteers to yank their strings.

Perhaps one of the most telling questions of the Republican debate concerned the Clintons. It first went to Romney.

"Would it be good for America to have Bill Clinton back living in the White House," Matthews asked.

"You have got to be kidding?" Romney said.

But Matthews wasn't joshing. Really, he wasn't.

    By Catherine Moy

Days after a historic gathering of patriots in Washington D.C., some in the old-line media - the tyrannosaurus press - are finally telling part of the story about the clash between the anti-American, anti-war protestors and their counterparts: American patriots. Like a good western movie, the good guys won.

But most coverage still misses the bigger story of Saturday's anti-war temper tantrum and the push back from veterans, troops, and Americans who arrived from as far away as Hawaii. The Gathering of Eagles, the name given to the 30,000-strong crowd of pro-troop supporters on Saturday, was the largest showing of red-blooded patriots during this war. Thousands have carried the torch since March 19, 2003, the first days of the war in Iraq.

This war is unique in its sturdy crew of Americans who won't let the left overpower the debate via its anti-American antics, cruel anti-troop words, and even attacks on our American GIs. Every American war including the Revolutionary War has suffered its protestors, most famously during Vietnam when actress and leftist activist Jane Fonda led the pacifists and the appeasers with her anti-American behavior that earned her the name "Hanoi Jane."

During the Civil War, anti-war protestors called the Peace Democrats, or Copperheads, challenged President Abraham Lincoln's presidency in a manner not unfamiliar to the present day attacks on President Bush, who has been steadfast in protecting the United States from its enemies. During the Civil War, as casualties mounted and the Confederacy won battles, protests increased. Today's anti-war protestors also use body counts, fake cemeteries, and twisted statistics to taint the debate.

The Iraq War is the first war in which Americans have consistently countered anti-war rhetoric and actions. The Gulf War was over so quickly that neither anti-war protestors nor troop supporters got a strong toehold.

The new media and talk radio have changed the debate. The Gathering of Eagles was so successful because thousands of people went to the Web for information. The lefties failed miserably on Saturday. Jane Fonda was a no-show after claiming she would no longer remain quiet on this war. The "global warming" was apparently too much for her and the thousands of others who stayed home as their critics showed up in staggering numbers. The patriots just stacked on layers of clothes to protect against the bitter cold.

Coverage on Saturday and Sunday barely mentioned the patriots who descended on D.C. to protect our monuments for fallen soldiers. Some anti-war protestors promised to bring spray paint and desecrate the memorials. Anti-war protestors had already spray painted the Capitol steps in another one of their extreme displays of misery and self-hatred. But thousands of pro-troops folks made sure the memorials were protected.

Sadly, some leftists felt safe enough in their gaggle of goons to burn the American Flag. Human Events reporter Jack Langer saw one instance and reported on it. And these people say they're patriots? They need to use their Webster's dictionary and look up the meaning. If they look under the "D's" in the same dictionary, they might recognize their descriptions under "deviants."

Thousands of patriots held Old Glory and encircled the war memorials, standing between the deviants and the symbols of our nation's pride in our fallen warriors. Move America Forward, led by chairman Melanie Morgan, started a caravan in San Francisco that collected about 15,000 flags for the flag city. The American flags flew proudly in the hands of patriots and signaled an end to the leftist lies that "most" Americans don't support our troops and their mission. MAF will send the flags to our warriors serving overseas.

And on Monday, the fourth anniversary of the war in Iraq, at least one media outlet's tune changed. FOX news - whose early coverage was disappointedly focused on the anti-war, pro-vegan, pro-socialist, pro-abortion marchers - reported that the pro-troop crowd outnumbered the antiwar group 3 to 1.

"The media have a template that the American people have turned against the war . . . and that's wrong," Kristinn Taylor, spokesman for the Gathering of Eagles, told FOX news.

I have worked with the mainstream media for almost 20 years and they do have biases and templates that lean to the left. It had traditionally been difficult to break through their stranglehold on information, but the Web and talk radio have changed that. Michelle Malkin, Move America Forward and others reported straight from the ground and posted video and pictures at their sites showing something very different than what appeared in the press. Malkin and others report that the Gathering of Eagles had a showing of 30,000, according to an unofficial count by the Park Service.

Antiwar groups argue that they had a huge turnout. But even the mainstream media, which align themselves with the leftwing, report that Cindy Sheehan's groupies didn't come close to their 100,000-dream number. What is clear from the signs and noise they were making, the anti-war crowd was clearly more vulgar and hateful.

While groups can argue indefinitely about numbers, what is clear about Saturday's events is that Sheehan and others have "misunderestimated" American patriotism- as President Bush might say. The bigger story is that history has never given the sustained pushback against anti-war forces that is roaring now.

Men and women on Harleys, young and older veterans, ladies and gentlemen put the left on notice: You may scream louder, but patriots have more soul. The Gathering of Eagles will not sit down until our troops win in Iraq and come home to our open arms.

There's a reason most conservatives don't like Senator John McCain (aside from his arrogance and superior attitude about causes most conservatives care about.) McCain-Feingold legislation to strip us our constitutional rights is front and center.  Conservatives score a major victory today in the United States Supreme Court.

My philosophy is 'open a vein, before you vote for McCain.'

Mark is the guy on the right...where he usually is

"Here's the audio of the confrontation between Mark Williams and a man who refused to identify himself. Mark asked a fairly straight-forward question." If the majority of the American public agrees with you, then why are there only seven of you here?" The anti-war activist blamed the war in Iraq on the Jews. And the New York Times. Well, that explains everything!

  • Anti-Troop bias doesn't stop at the American Border!

    The `Boycott Anti-Troop Toronto’ Campaign

Today Canada Free Press (CFP) launches its ‘Boycott Anti-Troop Toronto’ Campaign on behalf of all Canadians who support the courageous men and women serving under Chief of Defense Staff General Rick Hillier, in Afghanistan.

Toronto City Council yesterday ignored a sincere public uproar in backing the removal of yellow “Support Our Troops” decals from the backs of nearly 340 firetrucks and ambulances.

  • A Letter From A Marine Mom — SOS — Help Needed Immediately!

    Dear Readers,

My good friend Deborah Johns of Northern California, whose son William has just deployed to Iraq for his third tour of duty, sent me this important letter:

"I have heard from William for the first time in 3 months. I was so excited to get a call from him. He told me that the Marines really have the pressure on the insurgents and the Marines are really uncovering big stuff that makes it difficult for them. William also said that good things are happening and to let everyone know, and to hang in there with them and keep supporting them because they need the support of the American people.

William also said that they need handwarmers because it is cold and more importantly — send Silly String. They are able to dispense that stuff from 10 feet away and it will detect trip wires that are not visible to the naked eye and saves their lives before entering a building. He said the Silly String just floats through the air and lays gently on any trip wire and works pretty cool. If there are no trip wires then it just falls and hits the ground. So, we are trying to send any Silly String possible.

Thought you might like to know some good news from the battle field"

Folks, you can really help our troops by sending handwarmers and silly string to:

    4120 Douglas Blvd #306-442
    Granite Bay, CA  95746

Include it in your Christmas shopping list. It just might keep a soldier alive, and his hands warm while he pulls the trigger on the Islamic fascists who are trying to kill us.

  • WANTED: ANTI-WAR ACTIVIST TO REPLACE CINDY SHEEHAN (RESUME REQUIRED)

The highly publicized retirement of Peace Mom Cindy Sheehan as the face of the anti-war movement on Memorial Day has less notorious activists jockeying for pole position.

The job is still open, but Sheehan's replacement has really big shoes to fill. After all, as she has proclaimed, the universe chose her to spark the antiwar movement. The universe doesn't pick just anybody for this critical position.

If the universe placed a "help wanted" advertisement for her replacement, it would read something like this:

  • For Sale: Crawford's Historic Camp Casey

    Exclusive Look at Sheehan Property
For Sale: Five acres of peaceful land in (usually) quiet Crawford, Texas. Location, location, location!! This piece is located near President George W. Bush's Western White House. It may become a historical site akin to Area 51 due to its world-renowned gatherings of warmed-over hippies, has-been politicians and other beings who wanted 15 minutes of fame in front of fawning media.

Full disclosure: The site may also have environmental issues because its current owner, world famous (retired) "Peace Mom" Cindy Sheehan, said she buried her womb there after a hysterectomy. Also, visitors may have not used the available port-a-potties during peace parties at the Camp Casey property.

All reasonable offers considered. (By reasonable, we mean anything that can keep the bill collectors off Cindy's back as she plans her comeback as a humanitarian). Buyer must promise to harass President Bush whenever he "comes home" to Texas.

  • Sheehan Family Shocked that "Peace Mom" resigned

The Memorial Day news that anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan quit the Democratic Party and her role as "Peace Mom" shocked many, including her family and close friends.

We have known for a long time that Cindy was flailing, as we reported in our book. It was difficult to see a grieving mother wander the world with a bleeding heart that the anti-war left wouldn't allow to heal.

We pray that Cindy will go home to her three children and work through her grief.

  • Liberal PBS Reverses Course on its "Ban" of Melanie Morgan

Two weeks after PBS's The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer reportedly banned pro-troops activist Melanie Morgan from its show and conservative outrage hit a peak, the publicly funded organization appears to be back-tracking and now says there is no such ban. "She is not banned, said Rob Flynn, NewsHour's vice president of communications and marketing. "Things were just taken out of context."

Flynn characterized Morgan's May 8 appearance with liberal veteran Jon Soltz as a "screech-fest."

"She acted in a somewhat uncivilized way," Flynn said during a telephone interview on Tuesday.

  • Protestors and "surrender monkeys"

Protestors and "surrender monkeys" marched on the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, and Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., on Thursday opposing the Democrats retreat-and-defeat policies in the war against Muslim Jihadists in Iraq and around the world.

The "surrender monkeys" - played by two chimpanzees in San Francisco - wore the uniform of the original surrender monkeys from France: a beret and a waving white flag.

Move America Forward (MAF), the country's largest pro-troop group, sponsored the "Surrender is Not an Option" protests in three cities: San Francisco, Las Vegas and Carson City, Nev. The protesters included Iraqi veterans, Vietnam veterans, Gold Star parents, Blue Star parents, American patriots and special guests: two chimpanzees and one French monkey dressed as "cheese-eating surrender monkeys."

  • Iraq War Supporters Protest At Pelosi S.F. Offices

(CBS 5 / AP) SAN FRANCISCO Iraq War supporters surrounded the district offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority leader Harry Reid on Thursday.

Protestors brought chimpanzees from Hollywood to underline their charge that Pelosi and Reid are what the protestors call "surrender monkeys" for their opposition to the war.

"We are going to be out in the streets, with our flags, with our white surrender flags, with monkeys, with people, with energy and dedication and enthusiasm," said protest organizer Melanie Morgan. "Because we have a job to do and that is support our troops."

Be sure see the video that ran on Channel 5 in San Francisco.

  • Surrender is Not an Option

On Thursday, May 17th at 10:30 AM Pacific Time, we will be conducting "Surrender is Not an Option" protest rallies outside of Speaker Pelosi's SanFrancisco office (450 Golden Gate Ave. 14th Floor - San Francisco).

  • Protests Against Surrender Monkeys Reid and Pelosi

Associated Press is writing a piece right now on the Humane Society protest of using monkey's for pro-troop demonstration. Move America Forward's response "what's truly inhumane is how Speaker Pelosi and Senate Leader Harry Reid are cutting and running on our troops, attempting to strip them of funding for training, ammunition and food in the middle of battle."

  • KSFO Supports Our Troops

It's gratifying to see that a Disney family member (for whom I work at KSFO ) SUPPORTS OUR TROOPS AND THEIR MISSION. Richard Disney attended the Carson City, Nevada protest and freely gave our country his voice. Disney fought in Bosnia and is a fireball on conservative politics!

See the video for yourself !

  • NewsHour Invites Melanie Morgan

Following President Bush's veto of the war spending bill, Congress is considering a new bill that would fund the war through July. The NewsHour invited Melanie Morgan to debate the war in Iraq. To read and hear the broadcast .
  • An Angel Kissed the Earth

My family is saddened today by the loss of one of American's finest naval aviators. An angel kissed the Earth last weekend and in an instant jumped aboard God's wings into eternity. 32-year old Blue Angel Lt. Commander Kevin Davis of Pittsfield, Massachusetts refused to eject from his FA-18 high performance jet during a demonstration show in South Carolina. No one knows why or what went wrong.

But we do know that the man nicknamed "Kojack" rode his jet into the ground into order to save lives in the surrounding area. Eight people were injured, but no one died.

I was offered a ride with the Blue Angels, but instead, I offered my seat to my husband. It was, and remains, a thrill of his lifetime. Jack is a commercial pilot, and one of his dreams was to fly with the Blue Angels.

Lt. Commander Kevin Davis turned on the after-burners and screamed off into the horizon for 45 minutes, gifting Jack with bliss.

Kevin Davis yearned to become an astronaut.
Today Kevin is flying high with the Lord.

Here's a photo of Lt. Commander Kevin Davis

  • Two Women in the Middle East

Here are pictures taken this week of two women in the Middle East. Which woman do you think is a greater advocate of America's most cherished values of liberty and human rights? Which woman do you think has more courage to fight for those rights, and women's rights in particular?
