...that's right, "24" peeps - your hero has some thoughts about Chuck DeVore, U.S. Senate Action figure. Carla Marinucci from SFGate.com writes: "With President Obama getting ready to touch down in San Francisco Tuesday to fundraise for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Barbara Boxer, the Republican U.S. Senate race has gone wild -- breaking out the heroes (Jack Bauer of "24"), the blimps and even some fabulously photogenic boxers to counterpunch the POTUS limelight. And just in time: the Boxer campaign just announced the Democratic Senator has raised $2 million in the current reporting period and now has $9.6 million on hand for the 2010 campaign. First, we gotta give it to GOP Assemblyman Chuck DeVore of Irvine, the U.S. Senate candidate, who manages to ride the wave of tonight's fabulous grand two-hour finale of "24" -- a "favorite of conservative viewers" -- with his own hugely entertaining, tongue-in-cheek spot. "Which person would Jack Bauer want as HIS Senator?'' the announcer ominously asks. Of course: the guy who "mows his own lawn -- and can thrown a mean hand grenade." This is one U.S. Senate race ad that features no waterboarding and no mention of "Drop the gun! NOW!" -- but still delivers on the action: Read more: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nov05election/detail?entry_id=64256#ixzz0otKng900 Even the left-wing TMP.com weighs in on Jack and Chuck here.
