I'm riding high after having caught a life buzz this weekend – and no, I'm not talking about side-effects from the dopers in D.C. smoking ganja at their anti-war rallies and "die-in."

I'm jacked up because of the success we saw this past weekend during the pro-troop/pro-veteran gathering on Capitol Mall in Washington, D.C., as the Gathering of Eagles III and Move America Forward's "Fight for Victory Tour" temporarily re-took the streets back from the "Blame America First" crowd.

A dope-free, pro-troop high

Thousands of patriotic Americans lined Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., Sept. 15 as pro-troop supporters re-took the streets from the anti-military, left-wing A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition.

I broke down in tears of pride and joy at the conclusion of our pro-troop rally on Saturday as one-dozen Gold Star Family members stood on stage and raised their arms in solidarity against the enemies of our great country, who attacked our homeland and who kill our servicemen and women on the battlefields in the war against Islamic jihadism.

Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee (center) urges Americans to support our troops and their missions, with victory being the goal. Blue Star Mom Deborah Johns (left) holds the picture of Marc Alan Lee, the first Navy Seal killed in Iraq. Johns' son, William, has served three tours of duty in Iraq.

(Column continues below)

Seven thousand patriots came from all across the country – bikers, lawyers, housewives, their children, friends and neighbors – all of them making sure the International A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition of avowed Communists and their Code Pinko friends were ANSWERED BACK with our pride and solidarity in finishing the mission in Iraq and bringing our troops home in VICTORY.

Those anarchist punks in black scarves tried to hide their faces and their shame, but on this spectacular September day they got the spanking they deserved.

After being startled to see their anti-war march confronted by thousands of American patriots, the A.N.S.W.E.R./Code Pink crowd arrived at the U.S. Capitol to stage a "die-in" to mock the pain that Gold Star Families have felt at losing their loved ones to the war on terror.

The last time A.N.S.W.E.R. had marched on Capitol Hill they had vandalized the place, but this time the police were ready for them.

Almost 200 leftist militants were arrested after they threw sticks, wooden poles, water bottles and signs at the police and crossed barricades set up to protect the Capitol building from the rampaging mob.

Things went so poorly for the anti-military left that they're now whining and moaning about how unfairly they've been treated.

Cindy Sheehan's mad at me and my allies in the pro-troop movement because we've correctly reported that International A.N.S.W.E.R. is a Communist-affiliated organization. She says she doesn't like it when patriots call her a "communist" but then is quick to add the "not that there's anything wrong with that" disclaimer.

Sheehan can at least find solace in the fact that there are others in this nation who share her fondness for coddling murderous dictators intent on harming the United States of America.

This week, both wanna-be presidential candidate New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and the administration of left-wing Columbia University announced that they were itching to play hostess to this generation's Hitler: Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. This should disqualify Bloomberg from any future political office. Ever.

These people wish to legitimize and provide a platform to a man:

  • Who has denied that the Holocaust ever took place.
  • Who has declared he wants to wipe Israel off the map.
  • Who has funded and provided weapons for terrorist attacks against Americans.
  • Who orchestrates attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq.
  • Who oversaw development of extra-lethal IEDs that pierce the armor of U.S. military vehicles in Iraq.
  • Who took 15 British sailors hostage and then turned them into puppets on international TV.
  • Who is alleged to have been involved in the taking of U.S. hostages during the Tehran embassy hostage-taking.
  • Who is currently developing nuclear weapons to be used to kill as many Westerners and "infidels" as possible.

It's not surprising that the same leftists who giggle and cheer at Michael Moore and Sally Field delivering leftist diatribes from the Academy Awards or television's Emmy Awards would want to glorify a murderous thug at the site of the worst terrorist attack in our nation's history.

Just as they glorified the Communists during the Cold War (including the Vietnam War, as evidenced by Hanoi Jane Fonda and Swift Boated John Kerry), the left now seeks to show greater compassion and sensitivity toward Iranian dictators than they do U.S. troops or their commanding generals (ask Gen. David Petraeus how he was treated by MoveOn.org and the militant left in this country).

But unlike during the Vietnam era, there is an active movement standing up to these punks. I want to call attention to the heroic efforts of Col. Harry Riley, Kathie Marino and the patriots at EaglesUp.us who not only helped drive the events of Sept. 15 but who also supported Move America Forward in the giant cross-country "Fight for Victory Tour" pro-troop caravan.

I leave you with these sights and sounds.

First, watch the crowd of patriots who stood tall in love of their country and defiance of the Islamic jihadists who have declared war against our nation.

Second, listen to the soaring sounds of patriotism that live in our hearts and will never be doused by America's domestic or foreign enemies.

Finally, this image of the U.S. Capitol serving as a backdrop for the gathering of thousands of American patriots who won't give up the fight on the home front, just as our troops refuse to surrender to the jihadists halfway around the globe.
