Hey, Everybody! I am back in California after a whirlwind road trip through Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, Augusta and Savannah, Georgia on an endorsement tour for Senator Saxby Chambliss.

I have so much to report, but I got a nasty germ that has slowed me down. But the good news is that my husband is cooking our Thanksgiving turkey, and fixin' the trimmings too.

Yesss!!!

When I feel a little better I'll get back on the computer and update my extraordinary trip and our results.

In the meantime, I am going to let my friend and proud Georgian Kyle-Anne Shiver say it all for me, too.

So much of our view of circumstances has to do with purposely cultivating an attitude of gratitude that is so sorely missing from many people's lives today.  Here's my own Bible verse I use nearly every day to remind me that it's not so much what happens that determines our state of happiness, as it is the part of our situation we intentionally choose to give priority:

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, fix your thoughts on these things."

St. Paul's Letter to the Philippians 4:8 (New American Bible)

As I have used this simple advice from the first gentile convert to Christianity, I have learned that when one is conscientiously cultivating this discipline to see the good wherever one finds it, to always try to find something worthy of praise, then at the same time, it becomes quite impossible to become overwhelmed by the negative.  It's sound advice worth heeding.

I second this sentiment on our day of gratitude!! But before I run back to bed and dive under the covers, I want to pass along another message from my friend Rob Neppell at Kithbridge, Inc. (a great consulting company for bloggers) who is organizing the right-o-sphere to help injured soldiers.

Valour-IT’s fundraiser is winding up this week, and it’s been a tough slog this year due to the economic times. So we could use a nice push right here at the end. ( As you all hopefully know by now, Valour-IT provides voice activated laptops to injured troops who do not have use of their hands. They are now branching out and providing things like Wii game systems to aid with physical therapy and recovery. Truly great folks doing truly great work. )
