Walk this Way . . .

Move America Forward offered to buy the land and build a monument to our heroes in this war against radical Muslim Jihadists. Sheehan’s sister, Dede Miller, said it would be a cold day in hell before they would allow such a memorial from MAF on that land.

Walker told the Houston Chronicle that she plans on preserving the land with only a few changes.

She’d like to expand the memorial site, make it more permanent, and open a shelter for homeless vets and a walk-in clinic to treat soldiers and veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorders.

That ought to make the locals happy. Crawford residents are pretty conservative and they didn’t take kindly to Sheehan’s antics. I don’t think they’ll be offering Walker sweet tea anytime soon.

I invite Ms. Walker to contact us here at MAF, where hundreds of Gold Star parents would like to offer their ideas for a fitting memorial to their hero sons and daughters. A group of these parents, whose sons and daughters have died for our country in Iraq or Afghanistan, wrote a letter to Sheehan and asked that she consider selling the land to MAF so all would be welcome to a classy memorial. It would have been a nice peace offering from the Peace Mom.

Sheehan’s answer: She gave the other mourning parents the middle finger with a “no reply” and took her 60 percent profit from Walker.

So now it’s up to you, Ms. Walker. Will you thumb your nose at the majority of Gold Star families who stand with our troops and want to complete the war against radical Jihadists?

Mullah Madness

Since returning from Paris this week, I have studied and researched thousands of pages of documents, studies, and opinions on the mess in the Middle East. Folks generally fall into two camps: The appeasers vs. the doers. Yet most, except for radicals who are off their meds, believe Iran’s Mullahs are crazier than a pack of rabid hyenas.

We know Iran spurs the violent Jihadists in Iraq. Forensic evidence shows that Iran is guilty of murdering at least 170 U.S. soldiers. We also know that Iran cranked up its nuclear program, and we know that Iran is not our friend.

Appeasers say it is our fault. We brought this on when President Bush said, “bring it on.” History tells us something different. Break open the history books and look at the late ‘70s. There we will find mention of the Iranian hostage crisis and President Jimmy Carter’s failure with such.
For the record, the U.S. was not fighting in Iraq at the time. Still, appeasers blame the U.S. first and ask questions later. That Iran is training Jihadists to kill Americans and other westerners, and has stepped up persecution of dissenters inside Iran, are clues that the beast is flailing, according to Iranian expatriates I interviewed in France.

These are not the run-of-the-mill expatriates, but leaders in the Mujahadeen e-Khalq, a group classified by the U.S. State Department and the European Union as “terrorists.” Despite this designation, the MEK continues to offer the U.S. and its allies credible intelligence of Iran’s movements. MEK was the first to give us a heads-up about Iran’s nuclear proliferation.

Commanders on the ground in Iraq speak regularly with this “terrorist” group because it has infiltrators inside Iran’s government, its operatives know routes Iran uses to supply terrorists inside Iraq, and its intelligence has been fairly reliable.
When in the Middle East, do as the Iranians do.

Sen. Joseph Lieberman, a liberal who has been hawkish on this war against terrorists, wrote a piece today in the Wall Street Journal about the proxy way Iran is waging on the United States.

Iran is acting aggressively and consistently to undermine moderate regimes in the Middle East, establish itself as the dominant regional power and reshape the region in its own ideological image. The involvement of Hezbollah in Iraq, just revealed by Gen. Bergner, illustrates precisely how interconnected are the different threats and challenges we face in the region. The fanatical government of Iran is the common denominator that links them together.

My friends on the side of the aisle who believe we wage wars in the Middle East mostly to benefit Israel, are livid with Lieberman, whom they refer to as a Zionist and not American. I disagree. Go here for some of their ideas.
