Motor-Mouth Murtha in Deep Trouble After “racist” and “redneck” comments PDF E-mail

Congressman John “the Motor-mouth” Murtha is in a tough race to retain his seat and he’s on his knees begging for a quick million dollars to help him cross the finish line. I couldn’t be happier about the gasbag’s situation.

“Veteran Democratic Rep. John Murtha (Pa.) has sent out a last-minute plea for $1 million to save his hotly contested seat, endangered by his own remarks describing his district as racist,” the Hill reported on Thursday.

“ ‘We need to raise another $1 million to compete,” his campaign fund-raiser Susan O’Neill wrote in the e-mail obtained by The Hill. “We need money immediately.”

‘O’Neill blamed Republicans from outside Pennsylvania for Murtha’s problems. Polls show Murtha, running for his 18th term, ahead of his GOP opponent by just a few percentage points, the Hill reported.

Murtha’s campaign bellyaches that “swiftboaters” and others from outside the western Pennsylvania district are attacking him. Well, boo-hoo. Let me get out my hankie and cry some crocodile tears for the guy (not).

Murtha is fuming. In fact, he’s so hot he’s cursing like a storm trooper, or like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. But then I repeat myself.

The “gentleman” from Pennsylvania said about his challenger, retired Army Col. William Russell: “No (bleep) way” will a Virginia carpetbagger represent my district, according to Hot Air.

The truth is that Murtha put himself in this situation. His anti-war rhetoric, filthy attacks on Marines, and, more recently, his name-calling of his own constituents should be enough for any sane person to kick him out of office. Add that to his pork-belly spending, his alliance with limousine liberals like Nancy Pelosi, his part in the Abscam (Arab bribery scandal), and his inability to keep his mouth shut, and Murtha is beyond unfit to serve in Congress.

While Murtha was insulting our troops and trying to undermine their mission in Iraq, his challenger, retired Army Col.Russell, was serving in Iraq for America’s freedom. I really don’t see how there’s a contest here at all – except that Murtha has greased a lot of wheels by spending taxpayer money on special interest projects that equate to votes.

I don’t have enough space to write about all of the insults Murtha has hurled at the people who voted him into office, and the people who put their lives on the line to protect his hide. But let’s take a trip down Murtha’s most memorable mockeries.

One of the most outrageous outbursts from Murtha came after Marines in Haditha responded to a roadside bomb to defend Americans. Murtha sounded like he was reading right off of an Oliver Stone movie script when he said the Marines had “killed innocent civilians in cold blood.”

Like Oliver Stone, Murtha made up the story out of thin air. Really thin air. He prattled on, launching more and more attacks on the Marines.

“There was no firefight. There was no [bomb] that killed those innocent people,” Murtha explained, adding there were “about twice as many” Iraqis killed than Time (magazine) had reported, according to Sweetness & Light.

Motor-mouth Murtha got his motor running before the facts were in. A Marine spokesman was stupefied by Murtha’s unbelievable charges.

“I do not know where Rep. Murtha is obtaining is information,” said Lt. Col. Sean Gibson, a spokesman for Marine Corps Forces Central Command in Tampa, Fla. “Thoroughness will drive the investigation.”

Murtha was dead wrong, of course. None of the Marines who have been tried were found to have “killed innocent civilians in cold blood.” The country is still awaiting an apology from Murtha.

Lately, Murtha is taking his rage out on his own constituents. First he called his Pennsylvania district a “racist area.” He actually apologized for this comment, but only because the “racists” could vote. The apology didn’t come out just right either. He said his district was “really redneck” until recently.

Those are just his most recent remarks about the Americans he wants to represent.

So let’s see: the people of Pennsylvania can vote for a true American hero, Col. Russell, or a hateful, bitter flamethrower who thinks his constituents are racists and who can’t tell the difference between a hero and a terrorist. Easy choice, folks.

Speechwriter Dumped “The One” for McCain PDF E-mail

Did you see this on the front page of the LA Times? How about New York Times? Well the Times and the rest of the MSM don’t have Time for ANY story that disses their man, Barack Obama.

Wendy Button, a speechwriter for John “the John” Edwards, Bill “the John” Clinton, and Barack ‘The One” Obama, just couldn’t take it anymore. So she skipped out on the Democrats and will now vote for Sen. John McCain.

NewsBusters has the story and all of the juicy details. Here are a couple of paragraphs.

“Imagine if a speechwriter for John McCain had switched sides and announced she was going to vote for Barack Obama. Would she not be featured big time in the mainstream media complete with new thrills running up Chris Matthews leg?  Well, this did happen except that it was an Obama speechwriter, Wendy Button, who became disillusioned with The One and switched to supporting McCain. Here are the highlights of Wendy Button's explanation of why she made the switch:

‘Since I started writing speeches more than ten years ago, I have always believed in the Democratic Party. Not anymore. Not after the election of 2008. This transformation has been swift and complete and since I’m a woman writing in the election of 2008, “very emotional.’"

Button goes on to explain that the Democratic Party has conducted itself like a gaggle of sexists (my words not hers) by the way it treated Hillary Clinton and continues to go after Gov. Sarah Palin.

You really have to read NewsBusters and get the lowdown on the thin-skinned Obama and his sexist, destructive campaign. (And now you know why the MSM hasn’t divulged this!!!

So you'll excuse me if I don't write, won't you?

I am hitting the campaign trail again with Move America Forward Political Action Committee, endorsing strong candidates who have been in the fight for America's military men and women. Not the CodePinko supporters, not the Jack Murtha's of the world.

I'll be reporting in from the battleground states and races. Stay clicked to my page, and let's go kick some Democrat booty, baby!

Conservatively Yours,

I am getting a TON of e-mail from thrilled pro-troop bloggers, supporters, activists, and patriots Sunday evening.

Folks could not be happier to hear the news that the CodePinksters are closing up shop in Berkeley, home to some of the most vicious assaults (both verbal and physical) against the US military and their proud, patriotic supporters.

I just have to share the essay that my good friend Bash Man at PatDollard.com wrote when he received the news that CodePink has officially been relegated to  irrelevant status.

A Personal Note From Bash: Bye Bye, Bitches! Code Pink Closes Berkeley Office

October 26th, 2008 Posted By Bash.

You may win some battles, and you may lose one or two. You may get your eye blackened from time to time, and perhaps have to carry your buddy over your shoulder. But you will never lose the war when you are on the side of “Right.”

When you come from a position of moral authority–and I don’t mean a “feeling” of superiority, don’t confuse the two, I’m talking about thinking and doing the right thing every time–you will never lose.

Never.

Ever.

If there’s one thing in this life I have learned, it is that when you stand for what is right, and just, and good, and virtuous…even if you cuss like a sailor *cough*…you will always prevail because Good always prevails in the end.

Every time.

(Read the rest here, but don't if strong language offends you.)

Bookworm, the famous but anonymous blogger, has the Sunday night round-up of the latest campaign controversy.

First, there's a 2001 audiotape of a public radio interview Obama did complaining that it was a "tragedy" that the Warren Court did not overturn the Constitution by allowing wealth redistribution, but assuring a caller that it can still be done legislatively.

Second, there's increasing pressure on the LA Times to release a videotape it's boasted of having during which Obama attended a fundraiser for radical Palestinians -- a fundraiser that Ayers and Dohrn attended.  In this regard, I'll note that people in America are entitled to support radical Palestinians and fellow-travelers, so long as they're not active terrorists.

However, it would seem to me, naïve though I am, that Americans also have a right to know that their Presidential candidate is consorting with these people.

UPDATE: Bookworm has thoughtfully provided a list of advertisers to whom you may feel free to contact to pressure the LAT to do the right thing - RELEASE THE VIDEOTAPE!
