I touched down at Oakland International Airport a short while ago, jumped into my big honkin' SUV, aimed the steer-horned grill (in order to spear a couple of priuses) to goofball crazy Marin County where I live, and greeted my family with hugs and kisses.
I spent the weekend meeting with the VRWC. Don't EVEN ask me anything about this secret enclave or our location, because, well, I might have to jump ugly.
Oh, I can report to you that one of the busiest airports in America is nearly empty. TSA told me that jet fuel is so high that people have practically stopped traveling. Shocking. I haven't traveled for awhile. I knew how high prices were going, but I have not eyeballed the effects at Bay Area airports until this weekend.
I know I am wandering around with random thoughts, but here is the actual purpose of my blogpost.
When I got home and opened my e-mail, I found sizzling news.
ANOTHER GIGANTIC STAR e-mailed to me confirmation that he/she is going to participate in FROM THE LINELINES, the web-based telethon I am producing and co-hosting with the amazing Michelle Malkin!
This is called a "tease" and I am going to keep my secret until Sunday or Monday.
This 'person' is joining Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Ollie North, Monica Crowley and many other celebrities from Hollywood on June 26th.
Read more at www.moveamericaforward.com about our history-making efforts to send the largest amount of care packages EVER to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Make a contribution to send a care package with personalized message to our servicemembers serving in harms way!

People ask me all the time "What does success in Iraq look like?" Some are seriously interested in an answer to the question, others ask it with a challenge and outright hostility.
Catherine Herridge of Fox News apparently gets the same question.

You never know where the next story will come from.
One of my FOX colleagues, Andy Ryan, a reservist, has been deployed in Iraq for the last 18 months. We’ve been shooting emails back and forth for a while and just a few weeks ago he sent one that really caught my attention.
The email boiled down to this: Can one soldier and his camera really change Iraq one picture at a time…..
The whole concept got me wondering and once I saw Staff Sgt. Joe Cox’s pictures it was clear to me that Cox was capturing through his lens, the humanity that is often lacking in our coverage of Iraq. We often talk about this war in big broad strokes, but I thought, Cox’s story would provide an intimate look at the war and the people living it.

People! I darn near fell out of my comfy computer chair a few minutes ago.
In my email box, I received a blog posting from Senator Bill Frist. Here is what is says:
LET'S EXTEND A HELPING HAND
02:33 PM - May 29, 2008
By now, hopefully most of you have heard of a great event planned for June 26. Michelle Malkin has announced on the Hot Air site that Melanie Morgan and Move America Forward will join with Michelle and UStream to present an 8-hour web-a-thon with the goal of sending the largest single shipment of care packages to troops in American history. The effort has already started and will culminate with the 8 hour web-a-thon, so let's get started.
What a terrific way to say thanks to our warriors fighting overseas to protect us. Check out the message from Michelle Malkin at Hot Air.com and visit Melanie Morgan and Move America Forward. Then take the time to look around the Campaign Store and sponsor some care packages to our troops. You can pick from the packages listed and they will send the care pack to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Campaign Store will make sure the items are personally labeled, indicating who the sponsor of the package was and how you can be reached. It will also include a special personalized message to our troops that you can choose to include.
I personally urge all of my iFrist volunteers to get involved in this extraordinary effort. Say thanks to the best military in the world and our valiant soldiers.
Let's challenge ALL members of the U.S. Senate and Congression to do the same, as Senator Frist wrote "say thanks to the best military in the world and our valiant soldiers. "
The good Doctor/Senator is cordially invited to join Move America Forward's telethon. (The e-vite is in the mail!)
THANK-YOU SENATOR. WE SALUTE YOU!
188,000 patriots worthy of love. Read it here.

This news cycle brings conservatives another gift-wrapped present, dangling in cyberspace, accompanied by uber-angst for the Obama campaign.
Yes. Another Preacher Problem.
Jim Geraghty over at NRO parses the controversy.
I thought Jeremiah Wright's sermons at Trinity United couldn't be topped.
Then I saw Obama's other spiritual mentor, Father Michael Pfleger, preaching quite recently, arguing that Hillary cried in New Hampshire because "a black man is stealing my show" and declaring 401k accounts to be expressions of white supremacy.
It's like watching a white middle-aged priest offer a pitch-perfect imitation of Wright.
Video here:
Background on Pfleger here:
It's like Wright, starting up all over again. Obama can offer us the implausible claim that he didn't know the kind of man Wright, but are we to believe he didn't know what kind of man Pfleger was, either?
Oh Jim, it's all SO confusing for those of us who just can't figger this stuff out.
Heh.
