RED, WHITE AND BLUE ALERT! CodePink Claims Victory in Forcing Marines from Berkeley Recruiting Cente PDF E-mail

APRIL FOOLED, CodePink stunt angers Bay Area Media with 'prank'.

The United States Marines has decided to stand-down in face of anti-war protests by CodePink and others in Berkeley, Calif. this evening.

From CodePink website tonight.

And AfterDowningStreet.org

Major Media Falls for Code Pink 'Prank'

But, KTVU Channel 2 News in Oakland is planning to report the story tonight at 10:00 p.m.

Captain Rick Lund of the Marine Recruiting Center in Berkeley assured Move America Forward that this story is not true.

(Did KTVU ask Captain Lund about the accuracy of the story? Could the MSM get this story so wrong? Oh, never mind. Just a rhetorical question.)

UPDATE: KTVU has just reported on Move America Forward's press confernece in Berkeley, demanding that the US Attorney's office investigate violations of civil rights during our pro-troops rally in February.

Channel 2 warns the media: A hoax appears to be underway by organization(s) that purport that the Marine Recruiting Center has been shut-down as a result of pressure by CodePink to shutter the center.

This is a different tone and tenor than my conversation earlier this evening with the assignment editor who assured us this story is true, although refusing to cite their sources. KTVU also refused to take a statement from Move America Forward in reaction to the story.

ODD: No video of this story available at the Channel 2 website. I wonder why?

UPDATE: 10:29 AND NOTHING. Wonder if the assignment desk is going to keep it's word that the story will be reported --"ONE WAY OR THE OTHER."

UPDATE: 10:14 p.m. and NO story or promo of CodePink's 'victory' over Marines, although there are three stories about Cesar Chavez and the rights of illegal immigrants.

UPATE: Stephen Pearcy, the peace activist who alerted me to the gloat-fest scheduled tomorrow just sent me this:

"I just heard the same thing--i.e., that it was an April fool's joke... Here's what the message said: i'm really really sorry- i just found out this is an april fool's trick cp is playing on the media to get them to a press conference tomorrow
i'm the real fool here."
So we both got screwed.

I just spoke with an assignment editor at KTVU, and the reporters are now backing away from the story. A bit.  Regardless, Channel 2 says it will have a report one way or another.

Too bad the Code Stinkos moved so quickly. Kinda ruined their media moment.

Props to Michelle Malkin for suggesting that this is an April Fool's prank.

I have spoken today to a number of reporters who wasted hours chasing down this story last night. They are pissed. CodePink made up quotes from real government officials, the landlord of the Marine Recruiting Center and it didn't go down well from the 'pranksters.'

This further erodes the credibility of CodePink, Global Exchange, and AfterDowningStreet whack-jobs.

And that, folks, is a GOOD thing.

US Attorney Joseph Russoniello Petitioned: Prosecute Civil Rights Violators PDF E-mail

Breezy winds chilled the tempertures today as eight super-heated pro-troop supporters from around the Bay Area gathered in front of the United States Federal Building in San Francisco.

Jim Minder, Sherry Perussina, Bryan Weldon, Kevin Graves, Catherine Moy, myself, Ryan Gill, Danny Gonzalez, Eamon and Elizabeth Kelly (and Buddy, the dog, not pictured) stood in front of a podium at the fortified entrance to the US Attorney's office.

ABC7, KTVU. Fox News Network, The Oakland Tribunethe Daily Californian,Digital Journal were on-hand to record our demand to Mr. Russoniello's office that any violators who are identified as harassing, intimidating, slapping, hitting, punching or otherwise harming pro-troop supporters at peaceful rallies such as we planned in Berkeley on 2/12/08 be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

All of us told stories about the lawlessness that ran rampant at our event, cited specific accounts of CodePink, their supporters, as well as truant Berkelely High school students, who were allowed to violate our rights.

Members of Funk the War, The World Can't Wait, Global Exchange and Code Pink were (allegedly) involved in taking peace signs and hitting elderly women over the head, sending one man to the hospital for treatment after being shoved to the ground, and leaving a huge bruise on the arm of Deborah Johns, whose son William has served four tours of duty in Iraq.

After our news conference, we arrived in the inner sanctum of the 11th floor where we met with US Attorney Will Frentzen, who listened to our demands, and asked us many questions.

We were informed that the office would be in touch with the FBI to discuss the situation, and our letter would be passed around to lawyers in the civil division for consideration.

As we gathered our papers and prepared to leave, Eamon Kelly, USMC, asked Mr. Frantzen why the CodePink group was allowed to send $600,000 to the families of insurgents in Fallujah without consequence. That seemed to stop the U.S. Attorney for a moment, while he asked a few more questions about a well-documented trip by Medea Benjamin and others with the traitor group.

Speaking as Chairman of Move America Forward, I thanked Mr. Frentzen and we departed.

Later, I found this YouTube video in my e-mail account that backs up our claims in Berkeley that the police ignored our requests for help, and allowed the CodePinkos to violate our permit (thus our civil rights.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXjtbbRsHiY

There is a brand-new website that went live today where all accounts of civil rights violations against people who attend events designed to encourage support for our military is being catalogued and documented as we go forward.

I urge you to visit www.peacethugs.com and contribute.

If you see something, say something. Then do something. Especially if you are a citizen journalist on the streets at these events not only here in the San Francisco area, but all across the country.

We're are so over the Kumbaya crowd and it's make love, not war words, while their minions are plotting to bomb, hit, slap and punch people with whom they disagree.

Monday morning I am marching into my suburban garage, jamming the key into my ignition, and slamming on the gas in my Big Honkin' SUV that burns an (alleged) large hole in the ozone.

Fair warning to morning commuters on Highway 101:

This agitated supporter of our troops will be flooring it straight towards the San Francisco Federal building on 450 Golden Gate Avenue.

I will be stylishly attired in my American bling (consisting of my Flag lapel pin, dog tags and a few pearls to set off the ensemble) to make certain demands of our United States government, during a press conference at 10:00 a.m.

I, and others, will present a formal letter to Mr. Joseph Russoniello which says this:

  •  The U.S. Attorneys Office in the Northern District of California investigate all civil rights violators of our 2/12/08 Pro-Troop Rally in Berkeley, Calif.
  •  Any law-breakers who have violated federal laws in front of the Berkeley, Calif. Marine Recruiting Center by impeding, harassing, or assaulting anyone trying to enter on lawful business be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
  •  Members of CodePink, International A.N.S.W.E.R., The World Can't Wait, Funk the War, Global Exchange or anyone else who is impeding recruitment of young men and women into the United States Military be investigated, prosecuted, and if found guilty, receive the maximum punishment until the law.

The time is right now to end the violent attacks on our military, and their supporters.

We have amply documented these attacks in 'The Sedition Report.'

Susan Duclos has reported this story at Digital Media.com here.

Michelle Malkin has been a leader in this effort from the beginning. Read here.

EaglesUp, Gathering of Eagles, Families United, Vets For Freedom, Freedom's Watch and dozens of other pro-troop organizations are anxiously awaiting the response of the U.S. Attorneys office.

So is the rest of America.

Mr. Russoniello, what is your response?

....and dumped a load of laughs on my head.

Although I personally despise Dave Burge and all that he doesn't stand for (who do you believe, me or my lying blog?) I insist that you read Iowahawk's posting.

(Note: Dave is running for President. His postings must be taken with a grain of salt, as he is a jealous and vindictive person. Like me.)

It's Time For Some Straight Talk About My Gimp

A Message From Presidential Candidate Dave Burge

The Gimp: a fiery mumbler for Dutch rights

As a candidate for the presidency of this great nation of ours, it has been my privilege to meet and hear the concerns of voters from across the political spectrum. If there's anything I've learned along the way it's this: whether they agree with you or not, the American people want candor and straight talk about the issues of the day. That's why I would like to take this opportunity to have an open conversation about the Gimp I have chained in my basement.

By now, many of you may have heard or read the sensationalized reports about my Gimp, and the alleged muffled screams my neighbors recorded coming from my basement window wells. I frankly have to tell you, in all candor, I was as surprised as you when I heard about these audiotapes because I do not recall being in the house on the various nights when these supposed screams occurred. In all honesty, I'm guessing it probably happened during my league bowling night, and my campaign staff will be happy to check through my score sheets to verify. Also, did I mention I am a very heavy sleeper?

Yes, it is true that I've harbored the Gimp in my basement for over 20 years. I first met him outside a youth hostel / squatter's camp while vacationing in Amsterdam in 1986. Although he was a deaf mute, we struck up a quick friendship and I invited him to join me on my travels through Europe. Together we had many memorable adventures in the late night alleyways of Brussels, Berlin, and Hamburg. Over time I came to appreciate his wise counsel and impressive knot-tying skills, and invited him to return to the United States as my personal guest and spiritual mentor.

How Did Code Pink Sneak Into McCain's SF Fundraiser?

Code Pink's Medea Benjamin was supposedly retired from trying to sneak into places -- for disruption purposes, of course. Like when she protested the Iraqi prime minister's visit to Congress. Or the 2004 RNC. Or ex-Defense Sec. Donald Rumseld, and so on.

But the Activist's Activist, the Zelig of protest couldn't resist trying to slip into Sen. John McCain's fundraiser the other night at the Ritz-Carlton here in her hometown. While we got bounced, Medea didn't. "I didn't wear any pink," she told us. "Somebody saw me in the(Ritz-Carlton) bar upstairs beforehand and they said, 'Medea -- what are you doing here? And why are you so dressed up?' I was like, 'Shhhhhhhh. Don't you see all the cops in here?'"

That's because it's reasonable to guess that one out of every three working San Francisco police officers has arrested Benjamin at one time or another during a demonstration in the city. Same goes for the cops in Washington, D.C. , too. She's become so well known that she's stopped trying to bust into places. "I'm worried that I'll blow it for the people I'm with who are trying to sneak in."

Once McCain started to speak, she said he mentioned the protesters outside in a you-gotta-love-San-Francisco kinda way. That was Benjamin and crew's cue. They stood up, called out McCain for his support of the war, said San Francisco doesn't support it and tossed off a couple of "Bring the troops home now's" and "No War in Iran's" before unfurling a three-by-two-foot banner that read "McCain=War Monger." Those who live in SF know the drill.

Benjamin said McCain good-naturedly listened, then asked if they at least made a contribution to the campaign. Benjamin replied, "Yeah, the truth."

Then they were carted off by the San Francisco police in attendance. No citations were issued as neither the hotel nor the campaign wished to press charges. Benjamin said the cops were very nice in escorting her outside.

And unretirement felt good. Said Benjamin: "It was good to see that I can still slip into these things."

No word from the McCain campaign on their version of the disruption.
