I've been having some extensive conversations with my youngest son about what it means to be an American, the sacrifices for our freedoms, and why it's important to acknowledge the people who keep us safe in the most generous, wonderful (though imperfect) country in the world.

He gets it. Kinda. (He's still a teenager, after all, but his big brother is going to 'splain it all.)

Because of my children, and the soldiers who keep them from forceful observation of a perverted form of Islam,  I am going to Iraq this Christmas season so that we can share the good wishes and warmth of ordinary Americans who dearly appreciate their sacrifice, success, and efforts half a world away.

I know that many of you feel the same way, although you can't personally be in a war zone to express your sentiments.

But you can help.

Move America Forward is announcing a cross-country tour to rally support for our troops, stopping in 41 cities to collect Christmas and Holiday cards for our service men and women. Will you help? Homeschoolers, PTA's, classrooms, bloggers, talk radio listeners can participate by collecting these cards and letters.

If you live in Northern California, you can also assist us by coming to our Sacramento offices to package up the goodies we must get into the mail by Friday for the Thanksgiving mail drop before we leave later in the month for Christmas.

Please go to Move America Forward for details.

...And that's why we still have SO much work left to do.

Across the country, and here in San Francisco, the moonbats came out of hiding, insulting our troops and the mission they fight, staging a 'die-in' in front of the Civic Center. What do these whack-job's know about 'dying' for their country? A.N.S.W.E.R.: NOTHING.

protest

From SFgate.com

In the throng of San Francisco demonstrators was a trio of Code Pink members, including one attired as the Statue of Liberty, who belted out, "I am going to sing until the world is free, down by the riverside." One group, the Raging Grannies, entertained the crowd with protest lyrics sung to classic songs such as "Anchors Away."

*CodePink sent $600,000 to the families of terrorists in Iraq who have murdered our troops. They sit outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center with mock caskets and disturb the recuperation of our brave soldiers.

Labor groups made a special effort to turn out their members, with hundreds of workers showing up - among them sign installers, teachers, roofers, nurses, security guards and communication workers.

Sharon Cornu, secretary-treasurer of the Alameda Labor Council, said it would be the first time that seven Bay Area labor councils - San Francisco, Monterey Bay, North Bay, South Bay, San Mateo, Contra Costa and Alameda - worked together to urge members to demonstrate.

*Note the word 'urge' --make it "ordered" and you are much closer to the truth.

But patriots did make an appearance today, even though their numbers were drastically undercounted,  the CodePinkos were vastly overcounted.

This is what it looks like when WE get organized, and hit back at the paid professional protestors with REAL Americans.

Move America Forward is launching our Pro-Troop "Holiday for Our Heroes" campaign ...go to our website to make sure you participate in standing tall against the ignorant, inane, and inarticulate.
