California Ranks Among Worst States for Business Taxes
(SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.) -- California ranks among the nation's worst three states for taxes on business, according to a new report by the Tax Foundation.
The report shows that Wyoming, South Dakota and Nevada ranked as the top three states for taxes on business, while California, New Jersey and New York ranked among the bottom three.
The best states usually lack at least one of the major statewide taxes, such as the corporate tax, the individual income tax or the sales tax.
New York, which ranked 50th this year, has the worst individual income tax, the sixth-worst unemployment insurance taxes and the sixth-worst property taxes.
