Advocating on Behalf of the American Military and Defense on the War on Terror

From Cliff May, President of Freedom for the Defense of Democracies

"...You’ll want to carefully read the piece below by FDD’s Andy McCarthy on congressional efforts to create a false narrative – otherwise known as a lie – regarding the American decision to intervene in Iraq, the intelligence underlying that decision, and who supported the intervention.

Three examples:
“When you look at what Saddam Hussein has at his disposal, in terms of chemical, biological and perhaps even nuclear weapons, we cannot ignore the threat that he poses to the region and the fact that he has fomented terrorism throughout his reign.” - This was said by Senator Dick Durbin, now one of those charging that the danger represented by Saddam was exaggerated by President Bush.  “Saddam Hussein represents a grave threat to the United States, and I have concluded we must use force to deal with him if all other means fail.”-

This was said by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, who also now insists that Bush distorted pre-war intelligence.  As for the that intelligence, there is this: “Baghdad has chemical and biological weapons as well as missiles with ranges in excess of UN restrictions; if left unchecked, it would probably have a nuclear weapon during this decade.”

Saddam’s regime, the intelligence community maintained, was “reconstituting its nuclear weapons program.” It had “chemical and biological weapons,” and “mobile facilities for producing bacterial and toxin BW agents.” -

That’s from the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate."   There is plenty more along the same lines.
