Advocating on Behalf of the American Military and Defense on the War on Terror

Are we racist if we think that securing the border and stopping a flood of illegal immigrants to our country is wrong?

Carly Fiorina sure seems to think so.

Chuck DeVore does not.

This just went live at American Spectator - Carly Fiorina is pro-amnesty. Check it out.

Chuck DeVore sent me this email over the weekend.

"...Carly Fiorina told POLITICO (an elite, DC-based magazine) on Friday that the AZ immigration law was driven by fear and racism.  In her Gordon Brown moment (telling the truth to fellow elitists) she revealed her true thoughts about the "cracker conservative base" that she must win over to win.

I was at the May Day rally yesterday in L.A. and what did I see? ...an El Salvadoran communist guerilla group banner, FMLN (Farabundo Marti National Liberation front).

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- DeVore for California today responded to Carly Fiorina's denunciation of Republicans concerned about immigration as having a "racist tone." In an interview conducted by Politico's David Catanese and Josh Kraushaar (at http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0510/36629.html), Fiorina responded to an explicit question about whether "Republicans needed to make any changes in their approach to the growing Hispanic community" with this statement: "There has been a very unfortunate racist tone that has emerged in a lot of the discussion about immigration and that's inexcusable. We must be a country that welcomes legal immigrants to this country."

Chuck DeVore said, "It looks like Carly Fiorina believes her own fellow Republicans have a 'racist tone' on immigration -- or at least that's what she tells her friends in the D.C. press. I know better.

"Unlike Carly, I know and respect my fellow Republicans.
"Unlike Carly, I've been an active Republican and conservative all my life.
"Unlike Carly, I've lived in southern California for decades.
"Unlike Carly, I've led Hispanic American soldiers -- and been led by them.
"Unlike Carly, I've studied the border problem from the standpo int of a senior California National Guardsman.
"Unlike Carly, I've engaged the illegal-immigration problem as a lawmaker, a father and homeowner in affected communities. "
