We didn't really mean sanctions...did we?
October 13, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Russian state media today announced what veteran foreign policy observers knew from the get-go, that after "consultations" with Russia's foreign minister Lavrov, U.S. Secretary of State in name only, Hillary Clinton, that there will be no sanctions against Iran, despite the recent revelation of a hidden nuclear reactor in the country and president Obama's grandstanding September 25 speech stating that the world was united in its concern over Iran's nuke program and the need for harsh sanctions.

"[Iran] is breaking rules that all nations must follow, endangering the world non-nuclear proliferation regime...and the security of the world...they are going to have to come clean and they are going to have to make a choice...Are they willing to go down the path which I think ultimately will lead to greater prosperity and security for Iran, giving up the acquisition of nuclear weapons, and deciding that they are willing to abide by international rules and standards in their pursuit of peaceful nuclear energy...or will they continue down a path that is going to lead to confrontation?"
According to Novisti [http://en.rian.ru/russia/20091013/156451209.html]
"Lavrov also said the U.S. and Russia had identical positions on the issue. 'We are not asking anything of each other on Iran, because it would be ridiculous to make requests on an issue where our positions coincide,' he said."
So it appears that once again the amateur hour antics of team Obama reign supreme in a move that cannot help but embolden the Mullah's Iranian theocracy.
